  1. You might need to alter the settings of that 10 seconds time between refreshes if the Server has issues with the number of requests, or gets bogged down. I'm not sure what the refresh rate for the Shoutbox is on the Xisto Forum, but I would think that it is closer to the 2 minute mark in order to avoid bogging down the server. Another issue would be the "Rate of Posts" for your Forum. If you are getting 50 posts per hour, then 10 seconds is likely too small of a time interval. Even if you are getting 50 posts per minute, 10 seconds might be too small. A quick refresh rate might be okay for continuous data streaming, like Stock Ticker values and Financial information that is critical or for a continuous feed from remote sensing equipment, but I question the 10 second setting for discrete data like posting on a Forum.
  2. I voted 'no'. Having that information displayed makes no difference to the membership or how members are regarded on the Forum. In fact, it risks damaging the Forum by segregating the membership into distinct 'groups' where perceptions may change towards one another. Also, with the heavy mods on the IPB Forum software, it is one less mod to change when the versions are updated.
  3. The same concern for security and providing personal information applies to the entire Internet.Be very careful about what information you provide and to whom. This is especially important to younger members. The Internet can contain some very scary surprises. Defend yourself early and often.
  4. finally getting a chance to return to this Topic. Pardon the delay. Life happens. So the Form is getting posted to a Database already and you simply need the code to retrieve it and print the table?
  5. You forgot Breadcrumbs as part of the Hamburger. Mix them into the meat/spices before you form the burger. They absorb some of the Fat and really add to the flavour of the Burger. And no need to separate the yolk. Use the whole egg. It acts as a 'binding agent' or glue to the whole shebang.
  6. I see that they are working on a version of Google Chrome for Mac's, but still no word on Linux versions. Bummer.
  7. Which Forum software are you using? The Software Development team for the Forum might already have a Mod to do that.If you are using AEF Forum, I might be able to help you.
  8. The issue True fusion raises is the fact that you need "greater than" 500 posts to allow for the personalised label. If I recall correctly, 501 would work, too.

    Isdate() ?

The function you are trying to use is only valid in versions of PHP equal to or newr that php 5.3. Cpanel lists the version used by the Trap as version 5.2.5, so the function is not available for use on your Hosting account. See the http://de2.php.net/date_parse_from_format link to read about the function and see if there is a method for earlier versions of php.
  10. Feel free to adjust your own email address on your Profile UNLESS you are registered under the MyCents program, then the Email changes need to be made via a Supprt ticket at Xisto - Support.com so that your Xisto account and the Xisto account are connected. If you change the information yourself, you will have issues. Contact support at Xisto - Support.com to modify your email address.
  11. The reason you can not buy the Domain is really very simple. Someone else already owns the Domain and they have it Parked at GoDaddy. End of story. You can do a lookup on the Whois to see the information about who already owns the name and attempt to purchae it, but expect to pay a hefty price for that. I imagine that it is owned by a Domain squatter. someone who bought it and expects to sell it at a premium. Good luck with that. https://shop.whois.com/domain.php
  12. Like any service, there are demands for them. Long lines? I don't know of any. I usually make an appointment and get in to see the doctor in a timely fashion or, if I am really in need, go to an Emergency Ward at a Hospital for extremely prompt service. And another thing about the Canadian medical system, they serve first and worry about the insurance later. The Doctor or Hospital gets paid regardless of my Insurance status. This means that when there is a traffic accident, you are taken to the Hospital and the required treatment is given, even if you are not covered by the program, so tourists are often treated medically and released from care. Then they are billed at the prevailing rates, so if they have Travel insurance, no worries. Long time lines might be an issue with Specialists, given that their services may not be available 24/7 at all facilities in all towns, but generally, most Canadians are content with the services provided. Indeed, I am aware of Canadians that travel out of country to receive medical treatment. Two scenarios come to mind immediately. In the first instance, people travel out to seek treatments which are not yet available in Canada. Not all treatments are approved in Canada, usually for the fact that some treatments are still experimental. A local lad is needing to go to Israel for a treatment of Multiple Sclerosis and he must pay the costs by/for himself. There have been community fund-raising events to allow him to attend. There will be no cost recovery from the Medical system since the treatment is not presently covered by the program. Other friends have traveled to Europe for knee/hip replacements since their pain was great and the surgery was required to be done on their own schedule, so he paid for the flights and surgery in order to accommodate his own schedule. The option was to enter the queue and have the surgery done on the system's schedule which would have taken longer and likely would have been inconvenient with respect to their work schedule. They had the surgery doen when it was convenient for themselves, not for the convenience of the system. As for waiting for a Family Doctor, like many other places in rural Canada, my town is sometimes inconvenienced by a Doctor leaving, but in a very short time, another Doctor appears to take their place. It doesn't happen often, but the available Doctors take up the slack and work a little harder/longer to fill the temporary void. I do not know about other parts of Canada and can not speak to the available services in all places. The Canadian system may not be perfect, but in general terms, it works well. If you look long enough and hard enough, you will likely find flaws in it, but given that Canada has 30-some Million people, about one-tenth of the population of the USA, and is larger in area, there are bound to be issues with the distribution of services and their timeliness, but probably less issues than the problems seen in the USA with the lack of a national Healthcare system.
  13. What does the table look like? Can you post the Schema for the database, please.
  14. If you have a decent library near you, go check to see if they have any books by Larry Ullman. He is a php/mysql author that explains the process very well in most of his books. Specifically, check for the Visual Quickpro Guide - PHP and MYSQL for dynamic Web Sites (Second Edition). Also, what happens when you run a php_info() in localhost?
  15. Here in Canada, where I live, there is a Federal Health Care initiative which applies all across the Country. Each Province (State) sets its own fee structure. It is a Universal Health Program. All citizens belong to the program, and the costs are based on your ability to pay. In the Province I am in (British Columbia), the fees are as follows: Single $54/month Double $96/month Three or more $108/month I have friends in the USA who are charged over $750 per month for a family of 4 and the Canadian program covers more stuff. Income subsidy starts at $28,000 per year and down. An annual income of $20,000 or less is fully subsidised. More details on the Premiums can be found here. Our system is not perfect, but it assures that the citizens are not devastated by an illness, and, yes, there may be some issues with the program in place, but for the general population it is a god-send. The Government program here in Canada reflects our willingness to act collectively for the benefit of others. Unlike the programs in the USA which turns an eye from those less fortunate. You might call it Communism. We call it fair. Many more have benefited from the program than have been hurt by it. I think those factions in the US that oppose a Government/Universal Health Care Program need to re-think the value of a collective system rather than the "I have money so I deserve it" system you have there now. Our system is far more humane. Socialist or not.
  16. Have you submitted a Support ticket? Are these new Domain names? Why a redirect instead of parking the second domain?
  17. throw a switch block in the Page Include section before the template stuff.
  18. Sorry, I am not mac savvy, so how to install the Wordpress (on a Mac) is beyond my knowledge. I would create a new folder under htdocs for the wordpress and install it there. Then access it via LOCALHOST/wordpress_folder_name. This should look for the index.php file. As for Aptana opening up, it seems that the OS has given the priority to Aptana for .php files. Check that you are using the http:localhost/folder/file_name correctly for your system, and always use a Browser for the files you want to open. See if that helps.
  19. An ".exe" file is a Microsoft executable file and likely won't do anything on a Mac or a Linux box. Apachefriends.org have, (I believe), versions of XAMPP for Mac. https://www.apachefriends.org/download.html Once installed, there will be a folder named .htdocs which is the folder you need to install your wordpress into. Also, from your Browser, be sure to access the wordpress install via "localhost".
  20. "Authorised Support" - with Linux, you rarely need it, and it is available on many Forums for free. Not to mention the Driver issues Vista created. I wouldn't install Windows even if it was free to purchase. When I buy my next computer, it will have a Linux install from the factory, or I'll do it myself.Typical Micro$haft Marketing crap.
  21. Cool! I'll try this soon and come back here if it fails or I need assistance. Thanks
  22. Welcome back. Glad to see you again. This place is always open for new/old members. No sense directing you to the Xisto Readme, etc since you already know the guidelines.Good to have you back. Hope all is well.
  23. I have found that the best method (for me) to update to various Linux versions is to order a CD as each version becomes released. It only takes a couple of weeks to receive the CD and installing a new version is made quite simple.
  24. FINALLY!!!Good luck with your new duties and welcome to the Team... Spammers beware!
  25. And welcome to the Xisto. The Hosting is better than many paid Hosts, by the way. I'm certain that you won't be disappointed.Your English is very good for a second language. You do not need to apologize. We have seen a whole lot worse than your posting. ;)What sort of stuff do you sell on Ebay? Electronic goods, but what exactly do you sell? That's a pretty large family, especially with the Hamster...
