It should be able to run a 3000+, that CPU if I remember correctly uses a 333Mhz FSB, your RAM can do 266 fine and should be okay with 333 even though you should be able to run them asynchronously (at different speeds)

When a hdd dies from the inside there is nothing you can do. If you open up the case, which you cannot anyways, dust will instantly get in and render it inoperable. If the pins or the ROM and circuitry dies you can get it replaced, but truthfully it would be easier to get a new drive since they will probably charge you a new hdd price for replacing the board, you can keep your data that is already on the drive though.

You say Intel is a professional choice but you are wrong, it only seems that way because Intel being the giant corporation has deals with the biggest companies like Dell and HP etc... and they use Intel CPUs. DVD Shrink is a great program for DVD backups. It isn't possible, well, feasably possible to fit more than one DVD movie into a backup. You can fit 3 high quality divx movies to a standard 4.7gb DVD-5 media or 6 standard quality divx movies. As quality decreases you can fit more.More than one MPEG2 movies (DVDs are MPEG2 encoded) on one disc will require you to cut out all the extras, hack or get rid of all menus and re-encode in very very very low quality for it to happen, and it is not worth it, plus I've never heard of this happening so what you've heard must have been about more than one divx on one DVD-R media.

Umm, what do you mean several seconds? Even if you connect by a terabit fiberoptic line it will take several seconds to find the dns, request and then receive the web page. I don't know what you are comparing the speeds to but I have a feeling it is very normal. Until some uber-new-technology is developed to eradicate server lags and congestion we will all have to wait several seconds for web pages to load.

It would probably be dirty money, so I would donate it all to charity. From what little fame a 10 grand donation provides I would use that to write to newspapers, magazines, go on tv shows with Jay Leno, write my own book, star in a movie, make a hip hop album and earn millions.

That is the Phillips drive I'm guessing or some derivative, you need speacial CDs designed for that. They have a front side that is coated with a speacial material so when you flip the CD and use the program supplied you can burn images to the front of the CDs. I haven't seen those discs anywhere so I don't know how useful that drive really is.
