Having a lot of money may work in the short term, they may win 2-3 years but if you don't strenghten the foundation of the club itself it is bound to lose in the long term. That is why I consider some of the south american football (soccer for you yanks ) clubs to be the best in the world.

7200rpm Hdd That Much Better Over Standard?
alperuzi replied to kservice's topic in Hardware Workshop
Harddrives are a bottleneck. While CPU speed experiences exponential growth, the same thing cannot be said for HDD speed (capacity, maybe, but not speed)Therefore I can guarantee you that the difference between a regular 5400rpm and a 7200rpm drive with a much larger cache (8-16mb) will be INSANE! You will be able to notice it right away, not like moving from a 1GHz CPU to a 2GHz CPU, you will actually feel the speed difference. For me it is the most important thing, I can get a celeron rather than a P4 if I couldn't afford a fast hdd. Btw, Seagate is recommended. They make the best and the most reliable drives, the Barracuda 7200.x series is a great performer. -

What's Your Music Player you current music player device
alperuzi replied to hulunes's topic in General Discussion
I have two.My Sony MD player is left only in the car and plugs to the car stereo via a pigtail cable. However the car stereo is kinda old so its gonna be changed soon hopefully (got it for 30 bucks and installed it myself!)My everyday player is my Palm Tungsten T PDA with Pocket Tunes loaded on it. I use a 256MB SD card on it and is basically everything I'll ever need! Oh yeah, I can also watch divx/xvid and mpeg movies on it! The 320x320 screen is way better than any of those tiny iPod screens -

alperuzi replied to anima's topic in Programming
Yes, this is thinking in C++ by Bruce Eckel: http://www.mindview.net/Books/TICPP/ThinkingInCPP2e.html and this is a C++ FAQ which is pretty good: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -
I got the game last week, so I'm enjoying it while I can. ;)Groups which mess up the missions and bonuses are very annoying though.I specifically SHOUT "Do NOT Kill the guardians" "NO KILLING" "NO" and guess what happens...some noob goes ahead and kills the guardians, and then"Oops, those were the things I was not supposed to kill?""sry"aaaarghhghg

The differences vary acocrding to where you come from, but a university can have more than one college in it. It is generally a higher education institute, but to be a university you need to have several different faculties like humanities, science etc... In the case of a college, it may not have some of these faculties hence being called a college. Simply enough, the two are interchangeable if the college offers a degree you are looking for.

I have an old one from eBay that I got last year. Its old, but hasn't been used so its in good shape. Its a Palm Tungsten T with a litle slow CPU compared to modern PDAs. Its got only 16MB of internal memory but can be expanded with SD cards. It has Bluetooth but no WiFi ;)Even though, it is a good mp3/movie player (if the movies are encoded specifically for it) and helps me a lot as an agenda. With an occasional Sonic game too

I have a two year old Dlink614+ with mostly the same problems. Its better to get a new "G" class router as their standards offer way better reception and encryption. As kevlar said, Linksys is a subsidiary of Cisco so they have some great products. My only problem with them is that they have pathetic designs and disgusting taste of colour combinations :huh:I also use a combination of a Zoom X5 router and a Netgear access point at home, and it works very well so I can recommend Netgear too.

I've heard about multiple variations of the "water" fueled engine, including different hydrogen engines and the most popular fuel cell design. But haven't heard anywhere that it'll use so much water that its a problem! One thing to note is that you physically cannot destroy water. You can change the form and appearance and even react it to other elements but you can always get it back

This is great, thanks for the suggestions but I have one myself:1. Get a $5 bill or equivalent.2. Go to nearest computer shop.3. Get an optical mouse.

That it untrue, the latest AMD Athlon x2 CPUs run much cooler than their intel counterparts, and they are more expensive while being much faster too

Building A Computer I did it, decent price as well
alperuzi replied to BeyondEarth's topic in Software
Celeron 2.4Ghz? Yuck, that is and old CPU and that computer won't last you long. How about an Athlon X2 3800+ ? now that is what I call a CPU and it $400 itself! If you want to build a computer which lasts it'll still cost you a minimum of $1000 -
Advantages Or Disadv.of The Xps Gen 2 Wanted...
alperuzi replied to kservice's topic in Hardware Workshop
Yes, the XPS2 is their top of the line system. However I can't really call it a laptop since it is not designed to be used on your lap. And forget about battery life, the thing has completely useless lights and LEDs everywhere!. If your looking for a gaming system than it will be the best choice, expensive at that. -
Okay, I know a fair bit about this and am active over here. Its the mobility section of Rage3D. What you want to do is to get the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI (without the CCC Catalyst Control Center) and download the Catalyst modder from Patje (hosted in driverheaven.net/patje I think, you can find the exact link from the above site) After a few steps with the modder the ATI drivers can be installed on any Mobility Radeon and will offer far better performance than any driver provided from the system integrator. However, with the older cards there may be some stability problems as I've seen with my old laptop (ATI Mobility Radeon M6, one version older than your card) so nothing is guaranteed.

Firefox 1.0.7 ... firefox :D
alperuzi replied to LeAnn Rimes My Angel's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Yup, right on, a price can't be more right than that -
why would you possibly want to have your pages optimized for older browsers let alone non-standard browsers such as IE?If it doesn't work properly on these, tough, they should upgrade... thats what technology is all about.

The problem with the new personalized pages I'm having is that they don't stay personalized! I have to click Sign In every time which is annoying. -
We recently got a 42" LG Plasma and it really kicks... Its one of the best models, fairly old now, but sports a nice 1:10000 contrast ratio. Plasmas are really the way to go, I don't like the viewing angle thing in DLPs. This particular LG isn't HDTV because we don't have it here yet and probably won't for another few years. It does have a regular computer monitor RGB input though which is much much better than S-Video.Oh, and we got a 15" LG LCD TV for free which sits in the kitchen now, its also really good.
