  1. you mean 6600 "ultra" right :lol:I know, I don't get what he says by "just released"there were two 6600 cores, the GT and "non-GT", but this one isn't new...
  2. Yes, thanks so much for everything! You guys were great. But because my workload increased and because I'm administering a lot of different things right now I don't have the time to be more active here. I'll stop by every now and again though :lol:I'll also pm you Opaque or post something when I'm done moving everything so you can remove my hosting account.
  3. the 6600s dont have the same number of pixel and vertex pipelines therefore being slower than their bigger brothers. However nVidia did just released the 6800GS which uses a new core and a newer fabrication process, the same used in the 7xxx series. Cards with this chip are more expensive than the 6600 line of cards but offer performance on the level of nearly a 7800 at times! Therefore as of today the 6800GS actually has the best price/performance ratio.
  4. My computer is a laptop from a German manufacturer called Gericom. I had no plans of getting it actually, but then I went to this electronics store in Hamburg Germany and saw an incredible deal. It was along the lines of the best laptop of its time for a price like 700 euros. Since I could also get a tax refund for it I had no choice but to buy it
  5. yes, basically your string_var.length() is going to be the boundary for the loop, if you can use 'for' loops instead. I haven't written Java programs for over a year now, but it'll be something like this: int total_word_length = string1.length() + string2.length(); system.out.print(string1); //*darn*, don't remember the syntax here for ( int i=word_length; i<40; i++) { system.out.print( "." ); } system.out.print(string2); (PS, this was written just before me falling to sleep and could be very wrong... in that case, sorry )

    Bad Drivers

I guess it airs only in Canada, but the show on Discovery channel called Canada's Worst Drivers is a must see for everyone. You cannot believe how bad some drivers can be until you watch that show. But compared to Turkish drivers it is nothing. It is not that they can't drive, they drive like crazy. I'm a reasonably experienced driver, have been driving for 4 years now. And I am a very calm and relazed person, more so in traffic, but there are a lot of idiots on the roads in Turkey who can piss even me off. I would recommend people to think twice if you ever want to go for a visit and rent a car to go around.Van drivers are the worst too. They drive crazier because they don't actually own the vans, the companies they work for do. And if they have an accident or something they know that the car is insured, and the company will pay blah blah...
  7. Currently this is completely wrong, please provide the source of this information. check this and this As for the mobile CPU test here is the answer you want decide for yourself
  8. ATI is slow with its releases as you may have noticed and Crossfire doesn't work or is supported as well as Nvidia's SLI. So if you want a dual video card setup I would definately recommned you an nVidia SLI setup. The new beta drivers from nVidia also increase SLI speeds and options. You can now enable and disable SLI without a restart and mix cards. For example you can have a 7800GT and 1 6800 SLId together. However if you want to go with a single card solution and have the money, you can get an 1800XL which are out now or the 7800GTX with 512MB of memory. Both cards are extremely fast and to be honest you wont notice much difference in game speed unless you play at insanely high resolutions with AA or AF on.
  9. I posted this here so that I didn't have to CC it to all admins etc...I'm moving out of Xisto and to paid hosting, can I have access to my sites cPanel and FTP so that I can download a backup of everything before I go? My credits are at -9 so I cant login to either of them. Thanks.
  10. OK it may only be a state, but state country whatever... I wanna go to Hawaii, I heard the people can be very "nice" there
  11. LOL, Fo Still, North America is not a contry, its a continent.I live in Canada for now, and its in North America, but its not the USA... difference there ...actually a lot of difference, go across the border from Detroit to Windsor and you will notice the difference. Go either way and decide for yourself which way is better.I can give it a 9/10, good people, no fuss, peaceful, clean, etc...The -1 is from the cold weather
  12. Yes! around 200 hours for the past 40 odd days......maybe thats a little bit too much
  13. I have a Tungsten T which is fairly older, how are you connecting, cradle? bluetooth? wifi (they don't have wifi as far as I know) also have you tried using Softick PPP from http://softick.com/ ?
  14. you old is the computer or the BIOS? 6.4GB is a limit to old file systems...is the free space detected correctly? you say 93 GB, where do you see that?
  15. if both cards work with the same drivers than they probably have the same chipset and maybe even are the same card. There is very little variance in reception power unless you are going for something professional like an Orinoco card and some high power antennae, so just choose the cheaper one or the one you like better.
  16. those users who do not upgrade will probably not be able to appreciate your efforts in bringing them a compatible web page so it doesn't matter anyways.
  17. I use it now and then to print my digital photos, the touchup and printing abilities of that program are very impressive indeed. Simple, but impressive.
  18. Well obviously it won't be used on your desktop computer anytime soon. It will connect server farms, internet backbones and high speed routers. This is needed very much if you ask me since there is so many people switching to broadband internet and requiring entire backbones to become wider and wider in bandwidth.
  19. yes, you can expect some stupid prices on the manufacturer's part. Luckily there are people who salvage parts from old laptops and sell them on places like eBay. Other LCD screens will probably not be compatible, but you can get rid of the screen altogether and plug the laptop to an external monitor. This will mean that the laptop will lose its portability but at least it will not be completely useless.
  20. MMORPG - Guild Wars, you just missed the halloween special but its still a great game!
  21. The 9600 is and old card now and I would consider it slow. You have to look at the speed and the number of pipelines of cards too when you are buying and not just the memory on it. I would also recommend a GF6600GT for a little more.
  22. Are you nuts? :lol:You are the first person I know of who is not impressed with the 9800. That is THE most impressive card ATI ever made. I'm still impressed with my Mobility 9600!And are the prices really that low now? As far as I know there is no way you can find any X800 for around 200 bucks, where do you get your prices, I want proof ^_^I'm also looking into a new system for the next month or two, it's prolly gonna be an Athlon X2 with an SLI mobo but only single GFX card, considering a PCI-E GF6600GT. When I get the second one later it'll kick "some" **bottom**. (I know the 7800GTX is faster than two of these... whatever... I'm not paying a small fortune on only a graphics card...)
  23. well tdktank, like I said, you wouldn't have had it even though if you had the money! ATI sucks big time getting cards to the store after they announce them.
  24. Well, not accepting Kyoto and all, American's can still go on believing that G-gases don't have anything to do with climate change and all that. But at the end it is the USA again which gets hit by hurricanes.
  25. Can't really do anything about it, IE being an inferior relic compared to modern browsers such as Opera and Firefox. I would just totally ignore it and say somewhere on your site "Best viewed in Opera, FF and IE7+" or something like that.
