What Is Your Favorite Books/series Come on Tell us Lol...
alperuzi replied to BeyondEarth's topic in General Discussion
My favorite series of books are probably the Foundation series from Isaac Asimov, anyone claiming to like sci-fi should read em.Next would probably be the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. -
lol, the funny thing is, I'm actually working (interning to be exact, nearly done) in a company in Turkey selling, maintaining these security cameras! :rolleyes:And as for the reason for these cameras to be installed, there is so much street crime in İstanbul that they resorted to watching the streets with cameras. For people considering visiting Istanbul I would suggest not going around with bags, purses or the like. Prefer using pockets, getting vests with pockets or backpacks.

What Is The Difference Between Asp And Php? How About u ?
alperuzi replied to alexia's topic in Programming
.. if you know somethig, why ask? ASP = Microsoft PHP = Open Source And all the rest of the questions are answered whether you like one or the other. Here are some stats from php.net: http://php.net/usage.php -
Creative ain't the best soundcard when it comes to professional music creation. It is a gamer's card, there are cards I briefly referred to above which are way more advanced for that subject. And what is it with people recommending pentium4s and Gforces etc... anything else will do as long as the soundcard is good enough.

Well, this has also been asked before. Just look at the bottom of the page or previous pages, or do a search. As a matter of fact, you can probably find about twenty different versions of the thread which has the question twisted one way or another.

I remember answering this before, you may want to search for that thread. Sony Ericssons are great.

back in the 486 days you may have had the chance to wire something wrong but even then it was slim. Today everything is color coded and there is no way you can wire something wrong. All the jacks and connectors are different inside a computer and only fit the things they are designed to fit. Its pretty simple actually, all you need is patience, some proper tools and no static! As for the turntables, there are actually programs which emulate them as well as hardware that is plugged into computers too. I don't know the specifics but I know they exist. Also for the computer what you'll need is a professional sound card, the rest is not very important. Soundblasters are supported by virtually everything but there are real pro cards out there like Maya.

All things alone... how many years did it take for them to put this in? I remember designing a forum theme about 3 years ago and using pngs and annoying all IE users causing them to switch to mozilla...

New Google Service To Compete With Paypal? ROLL IT OUT FAST, GOOGLE :D
alperuzi replied to serverph's topic in Search Engines
Together with localization they can get multiple ads from all over the world and show them to locals only so I don't get an ad from Zimbabwe for example. Can't get smarter than that... -
Dude, normally I don't go around thanking people by posting because some mods pick them up as spam around these parts, but this is really helpful and the effect is really cool. Thanks a lot.

Yeah, that was hilarious... but truthfully if I were Barichello I would quit Ferrari. They are really holding that guy back, he would have actually overtaken Schumi. However, I think Michelin really screwed up and the teams and fans should blame them. I mean the whole season we saw Michelin tyres winning all races, but to think that they were risking stability for speed is outrageous, and now only when they start to fail they recommend bringing in new tyres. That is not fair for the teams racing on Bridgestones. Don't get me worng, I also use Michelin tyres on my car, but they really screwed up this time.

intel also has 64bit CPUs now, they are being sold. And pretty soon AMD will have something similar to HT, that is multicore CPUs that work as one which is pretty much what HT does. However you are right as to say Intel's 64bit doesn't work very well, in fact it is mostly stolen technology from AMD anyway.

Intel Centreno And Intel Mobile Difference between the two
alperuzi replied to imran's topic in Hardware Workshop
There is a general misconseption that the Centrino is a CPU, it is NOT. It is a mobile technology which consists of a Mobile Penitum-M (note the m at the end) + Intel motherboard chipset + intel 2200BG or similar miniPCI wifi card ALL TOGETHER. If a laptop has lets say SIS or ALI chipset motherboard then it cannot be called to have Centrino. Similarly if it has lets say a Broadcom wifi card then still it wont be called a Centrino. Now the tricky part is the CPU, there are two kind of Mobile CPUs on intel's part. A Mobile Pentium and a Mobile Pentium-M. The first one isn't actually a mobile CPU at all, it is a desktop P4 CPU with some modifications so that it smaller, runs slower on battery mode and faster on AC power mode. The Pentium-M is a "real" laptop CPU with dynamic speed control and low power consumption and is also the one used in Centrino laptops. The former one is mostly phased out now that the Pentium-M CPUs are just as fast. -
What I've heard was that the performance of those CPUs are low, lower than a mobile celeron. But they are very good for notebooks anyhow because of their low power consumption and therefore long bettery life.

go to http://www.cpu-z.com/rg-erdr.php?_rpo=t and download the CPU-Z program. That program will identify exactly what kind of CPU you are using as well as all the extras that it has enabled like MMX, SSE and hyperthreading.

How old are the drives? if the drive that doesn't read the cd is older then it probably needs cleaning. Get a can of air, open the drive bay and spray the hell out of it! If that doesn't work, you'll need to open it up and spray the hell out of the lens! But tbh, I'm surprised as to how the cd-rom reads it and the cd-rw doesnt... I would have expected the opposite.

I've always had a problem with the macs....This doesn't seem logical to me, so I couldn't figure it out for the longest time:In order to eject a cd from the drive, you need to drag it into the waste basket??!...I mean... why???
