Some Fractals Some Of My Work In Apophysis
rvalkass replied to rvalkass's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
None of them have been edited in any way, just pure renders from the program. They did take a little while to make, about an hour to perfect each one but only 15-20 mins to render each of them. Thanks to everyone for your comments. Glad you like them! -
I like Google maps, they run quicker, look better and think the moon is made of cheese!

I had a quick go: Night Scene Most of those Terragen scenes do look quite natural and realistic, apart from the fourth one. That grass is just weird! I'll try and upload some of my Terragen attempts soon.

After seeing some other peoples work in Apophysis I have decided to post some of my own. Fractal 1 Fractal 2 Fractal 3 Fractal 4 Fractal 5 They are all quite large so they may take a while to load. Any comments good or bad are welcome. Any suggestions to improve them would be nice If you are interested I have a gallery of all of my work here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I would follow on from what you've already got. If you have a PS2, get the PS3; if you have an XBox, get the 360. Especially if you've got XBox Live or Network Play, it just seems a good idea to stick with whichever one you've already got, as your current games should work on them.If you have both then I would wait for the PS3.

That error normally appears if you try to set a header after it has already been sent. Headers must be set before the script outputs anything to the browser or any action is taken like that. If you need to force another page, try using some simple javascript.

If you intend to make hacks and mods for PhpBB I would suggest looking at their forums and asking some of the members on there for help. They may even have tutorials for the basic stuff, like grabbing usernames, post counts etc.

What Is So Great About Firefox? is IE going down the tubes?
rvalkass replied to areawe's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I used to use IE but I switched to FF as soon as I heard about it (0.8 Beta version). I think it looks better than IE, is more user friendly, adds extra functionality with extensions (I have 8), and most importantly, Firefox has never crashed on my computer, unlike IE which seems to crash every half hour... Also it gives Microsoft a kick in the teeth, they need to understand they can't hold a monopoly on everything computer related! -
I use Windows when I am at home. I have set up a thing in My Network Places connected to the FTP server. Sometimes I use net2ftp if I am away from my PC or need to edit a file while it is on the net. Sometimes it can go a bit slow, so I have installed a copy on my T17 web space. Its free and easy to use, and can do everything needed, such as CHMOD, editing files, renaming etc. net2ftp net2ftp Download

Gotta give my vote to Johnny, sorry Frozen.

The meaning of life is simple. Be happy and have fun in whatever you do. Its different for everyone, either buying a nice car, getting a decent job or finding a great partner, it differs for each person.Or its 42, whichever one makes more sense to you.

My favourite shows at the moment have to be Home Improvement on abc1, Blackadder on whatever channel happens to be showing it and probably The Simpsons. Comedy is great.

I known some people who are running Apache 2.0 and PHP to test websites. The only change that needs to be made is: Under Global Environment find the section labelled 'LISTEN'. Change the line after the comments to: Listen localhost:80 Save the httpd.conf file and restart Apache, then find out what your IP address is and type it into your web browser. If you see the Apache Has Installed Sucessfully or your site then you need to change something else. If you get a Server Cannot Be Found or other error then you are safe from the outside world! I would also suggest getting a strong commercial firewall and some port monitoring software to make sure no-one is trying to break in. If you can still access your computer from the web then try searching for a tutorial on running Apache locally only or running Apache as an Intranet.

The clock could be due to the computer updating to the atomic clock to get the time. Double click the clock and make sure that any daylight savings things are correct and you have chosen the right time zone. Your MSN name changing could be a virus, but I would ask in the Microsoft help forum or email the MSN team for help, then run your antivirus software.

Building A Computer I did it, decent price as well
rvalkass replied to BeyondEarth's topic in Software
I have been toying with the idea of building my own PC for a while. I jst worry that it won't work at the end, but so many people seem to be doing it. Thanks for the info. -
Wow, I never knew the quality even went that high, I'm rendering all mine at about 300 on the quality at 1280*987 resolution, and they each take about 15 mins. I suppose I can spare a little bit more of my time How long did each of those take to render?

I just search in the all-powerful Google. Just put in, for example 'freeware image editor -trial -demo' and I usually get what I am looking for.

Is this only available to people in certain countries? If it is available in the UK then I may as well register for a copy.

OK, my comments: 1. I think the gradient should go the other way, e.g. starting with bright yellow in the middle and going out to orange. 2. Excellent, but perhaps use the zoom to get a close up of the brightest part, as it looks slightly odd where it repeats itself on the right hand side. 3. Brilliant, cannot see any problems with this one 4. Again, no problems, but I can spot a slight tinge of blue right in the centre. Perhaps change the gradient to remove it. 5. Maybe zoom in more on the main spirals, but otherwise its great. One general comment: try to render them as large as possible or use a higher quality (200 - 250) as they all look slightly blurred, but great work otherwise. -- My Fractal Gallery

I think the text is a little bit too dark to read. For a banner you need the text to stand out and grab peoples' attention. I also agree with Johnny that you could try removing the dots from the face. Nice work, 8/10

New Site Design Hopefully browser-friendly
rvalkass replied to biscuitrat's topic in Art & Creativity
So far a nice design but I do have a few problems with it.1. The 'Home', 'About' etc links at the top look blurry and slightly hard to read, along with the logo on the right.2. The pink curve on the right starts to repeat at the bottom of the page on my screen res (1280*1024). Try setting the CSS to not repeat.Sorry to be critical of it, but its a great design otherwise, just tow small problems that are annoying me. Good luck with it. -
Johnny's Fractals (first Three) YAY
rvalkass replied to Johnny's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I didn't know anyone else on here made fractals! I have been making some in Apophysis for a few weeks, but I don't think they are as good as Johnny's. My Gallery I still have some more to upload so watch that space. I also made the gallery with the help of some tips on the web. Any feedback or comments welcome, good or bad -
What Is... The Smallest Siteweb In The Word
rvalkass replied to aminzzlink's topic in General Discussion
Argh, eyes hurting... My screen res is set too high methinks! That is tiny and the only use I have found for the Windows Magnifier Tool!
