  1. OK, try P2L for some tutorials. Often you can pick up some useful code from looking at other peoples work, its a great way to learn. If you are really interested in learning then I would suggest going out and buying a book, such as one of the For Dummies series. They're easy to understand and give lots of examples, and still explain everything you need to know. Sometimes you can also get a CD with loads of example scripts on it.
  2. Those games look excellent. Thanks very much for the link!I am downloading Kuma, Paintball and Cube and I hope to tell you of my experiences.
  3. Thanks for the link, it sounds great! It sounds like its pretty difficult to master though.
  4. Mine is just my name, but shortened. My real name is Rob Valkass, and my username is rvalkass. I always use it, mainly because its easy to remember and it will always work, as I don't know anyone else who has the surname Valkass (apart from my family).
  5. Technically any image, text or anything basically is immediately copyright of the person who created it, regardless of whether they display a copyright notice. I would still get the permission of the person who made the images before going ahead.
  6. I use Windows file manager/Network Places most of time when I'm at my PC, and net2ftp when I'm away from my own PC.
  7. When you have a mobile phone that has WAP on it, it is normally provided by your network provider and you are given an IP, username, password and all that, just like on your PC. This website is a free alternative WAP for people who find their current one slow or don't want to pay so much a minute to use the WAP services. They tell you a different IP and port for your mobile and you enter that and all of your WAP stuff is sent through them, so you don't pay your phone company a penny.
  8. I've got Windows XP Home purely because it came with my PC and I can't afford to get a different version! I managed to get a copy of Linspire when they were doing it free so I might try that on my laptop if I get a chance.
  9. Nice set of mods you've got there, but why is there no copyright at the bottom of the page??With the password security number, have you selected to use the GD image library? I don't think the other libraries work on Xisto.
  10. Check out Planet Source Code for ASP, PHP, JavaScript and virtually everything else. Otherwise, as arboc7 suggested, Google normally provides. Just try something like "PHP IP Tracking" and you should get something.
  11. Feature number 26 on the feature list on the main Xisto website says FrontPage extensions are supported. I think you might have to enable them in cPanel. You only need the extensions if you are using FrontPages forms, hit counters and other stuff, so if you are not using any of that then theres no point enabling FrontPage extensions. Feel free to ask for any more help.
  12. It may just be me, but nothing on your website actaully lines up. I am using Opera and the image and news section are going straight over your left hand border. If the problem is just Opera then I would suggest making your sites totally complaint and testing them thoroughly. Anyway, your design looks quite good, I've never seen anything similar so well done for being original, just fix those problems and it'll be great, well done.
  13. For the layout, have a look at my site. I designed that layout and I'm happy for you to use it and adapt it. If not just search for 'layout' or 'tableless layout' in the all-powerful Google.
  14. As far as I am aware there are no WYSIWYG editors for PHP, but if you install PHP, Apache and probably MySQL on your home PC then you can view the outputs, although you only need MySQL for databases. It is a lot of work, so I would suggest just editing them on Xisto. I think there is a file editor in cPanel. If not then use net2ftp to edit the files 'live' on T17.
  15. I know how you feel. We have just started our graphics coursework again, because our new teacher doesn't like it! 3 months work, GONE!Just try and get all your coursework and homework done during the week, and save the weekend for making your website. Good luck with your GCSEs!
  16. An iPod that is that small would be pointless for showing images and slideshows on, you wouldn't be able to see anything!Eventually they're just going to get too small to use.
  17. It does look a bit weird, it reminds me of those 'Smart' cars. Its a great idea though, refilling the whole tank, which lasts 200km with just 1.5 euros! The cars each cost about 9000 euros, and they are making van and taxi versions too.I'll be great once they start production and you can actually test drive one.
  18. Right click the main .EXE file, or the shortcut on your desktop, then click the Compatibility tab, then set the dropdown to Windows 98/ME and click OK. That should fix it.
  19. The toolbars look a little too cluttered for my liking, I'm gonna stick with Opera for the time being.
  20. You are in luck. May I suggest Linspire, a Linux distribution made incredibly simple to use and it looks just like Windows. It normally costs ?49 but you can get it for free by clicking here and following the instructions. They've got some offer on after someone released some software called 'Freespire' which caused confusion so Linspire is free for a few days. I suggest using BitTorrent to download it, it goes much faster. Its incredibly quick and easy to use.
  21. OK, I would suggest getting some more RAM than 256MB, you might have some problems running a couple of applications at once, at it could run a little slow. Ł223 is good money for that PC, but I would still suggest getting a better PC if your budget can stretch to it. The on-board graphics are not really any good for playing games, I made that mistake a few years ago For an extra Ł16 you can get: Or an extra Ł100 gets you the Sempron 2800, a DVD burner and 160GB hard disk. Check out these PCs here. Tell me if these are no good, or if you need some more advice.
  22. I like snlildude87's better. I agree with Moody, the colours are better, yours is just a little too... pink, Saint_Michael, none of the colours on the render show through, but good work from both of you.
  23. I only ever fill in fields marked as 'required' and nothing more, unless I trust the website. If a website is asking for personal information and they have marked it as required I have been known to email them and ask them what they want that info for, and most of them never reply.
  24. As far as I am aware they fixed all the bugs and holes in IPB1.3 so you should be alright. However, they are not updating that any more, don't provide support and not many themes and mods are being made. If you are really worried about security or getting mods and themes then use PHPBB.
  25. I like the orange one because the text is easier to read and it brings out the brushing a bit better.
