  1. If both of the drives are broken, try putting them into a different machine to see if they work. If not, the drives themselves are broken. If they do work in a different PC then you have either deleted the drivers for them, removed them from the BIOS or changed a system setting. As tuddy says, try and remember if you changed anything before the drives stopped working. If you are on XP you could try using System Restore.
  2. I have seen a few of these, but I always thought they were long and complicated. Thanks very much for this script.
  3. If your phone will let you, you could always email one of the default backgrounds to your PC and edit that, then it should be the perfect size.
  4. This program looks very interesting, especially as it is freeware. I have used a few 3D modelling programs and it will be interesting to see how they compare to this program. The tutorials also look quite detailed and helpful in teaching some of the skills of the program. Thnaks very much for the link, I will certainly try it over the next few days.
  5. It is good to see phpBB keeping on top of the bugs and errors in their system. I agree with guangdian that phpBB need to work on their themes, its been the same for ages
  6. My neighbour does the same thing, except a little bit later. We asked them to let the dog out a bit later and they understood and have agreed, so its always worth a try, just be polite. If that fails then contact a council or the police as it could be classed as a public annoyance or disturbance or something, but thats only as a last resort
  7. FireFox just gives a popup saying the site can't be found. I think the URL should be http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I still do not understand your problem. Your site loads but the /advertise directory cannot be found.
  8. I've kind of lost the plot now, put just in case it matters, I vote for Kremit. Good luck to you both.
  9. Won't doing this make all the plug-ins fail to work? Some of the file names look quite important.
  10. You could try putting your hard disk into another machine, and the same with the graphics card, to see if there are problems with them. If the only things connected to your motherboard are a hard disk and the graphics card then you need some RAM to get the computer to do anything. As BuffaloHELP has suggested, your CPU may be overheating. Make sure all your fans are connected and all your fans are spinning when you switch the computer on. If you have a fan control dial, make sure you set the fans to spin as fast as possible to see if that solves the problem. Flashing the BIOS is an option, but only as a last resort, and I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you have changed parts after you bought your PC.
  11. It may be simple but you cannot create a database with phpMyAdmin. There is another link in cPanel to create databases. You need to create the database with that. Whatever name you give, it will be prefixed with your cPanel username e.g username_database
  12. Thanks for the link. I have used a few game makers previously but they were limited in the gameplay or created games that were buggy or not compatable with many OSs. I will try to check out the trial version over the week, the only downside is that you have to pay to use it for more than 30 days!
  13. I live in England and I would like to visit Canada and New Zealand. I have learnt a lot about those countries but have never visited them, and I just want to experience everything first-hand.
  14. You need to save it as test.php not as a .html file, Klass. That should fix your problem. Also, I would like to know if it is possible to make something similar for Apache. Not just the normal directory listing, but one with links and some folders not displayed?

    What Could It Be

Most likely to be a Windows error, either drivers being out of date or a port geting damaged. Perhaps you were overloading the CPU with too many programs at once? Who knows, but glad to hear you've got it working again.
  16. Ditto on all of snlildude87's comments. Try changing the navigation on the left to match the bar on the right. Also, the grey bars with things like "Featured Photo" in them are too far over to the right (on FireFox anyway). Try fixing the alignment. Perhaps check if the page is valid CSS/HTML?
  17. It looks like the .cmat extension still isn't working. Can I ask exactly why you need a separate extension? Otherwise a nice design and I look forward to seeing how it develops.
  18. Maybe there are dragons and other 'mythical' creatures. It just seems unlikely that no-one has seen one recently and been able to provide proof. Perhaps the Loch Ness Monster is one of these leviathans.
  19. I just made a similar script for a friend, one of those interactive sigs with the IP and all that on it. Anyway, try using imagestring($_image, 3, 6, 6, $Title, $clr_black);//It works like this:imagestring($_image, FONT, X-POSITION, Y-POSITION, TEXT-TO-DISPLAY, COLOUR); rather than imagettftext. Also, try removing the _ from the variables as I have seen that confuse some set ups of PHP before. What exact error do you get when you run the script, or do you just get a blank page?
  20. I go on Xisto at about 6am every morning (I have to get up that early for school) until about 6.45am. Then when I get home I'm on from about 6.30pm to 8pm, although doing other things at the same time. Its amazing how much time I manage to spen on here. I also spend about 4 hours on and off on Saturday, adding up to 15 and a quarter hours per week.
  21. I have an ancient 17" CRT on 1280 by 1024. I recently had a problem with the graphics and dropped to 1024 by 768 and it looks really big. I could go higher, but 1280 x 1024 seems just about right. I am careful to make sure all my sites fit smaller screens using the preview options on various web design packages.
  22. We have 4, although only 1 is connected to the Internet as I don't know exactly how to set up a network and the equipment involved. Anyway, there is one about 4 years old used by the whole family, which is on the Internet. I have an old laptop running 98SE that I use for homework. We also have a Zenith something-or-other running 95 that is hardly ever used and an IBM Personal Computer MarkII that is never used except when I am really bored.
  23. I have used Skype and the MSN Messenger voice conversation thingy. They have both worked extremely well, although I had a few problems getting my firewall to allow voice convos in MSN, although it detected and accepted Skype straight away. MSN also seems to have a 1 second delay in the conversation, which can be a little bit annoying.
  24. I am using 27% of my GMail account. I have started using the shell extension thing so I am currently storing some large files on it. I have never deleted a single message from that account, although what I will do with all those old messages I don't know. I'm never going to read them, so whats the point?
  25. I wouldn't download and use the so-called 'G-Browser' as it would be biased towards Google. Like Micro$oft now encourage people to install the MSN toolbar, Google would probably bundle the Google toolbar into their browser. Would it conform to standards? And if so, which ones?If Google bought out Mozilla it would be a downwards spiral. What browsers would be left???
