  1. There is also a program out there called flyakiteosx... well its not a program, its one installer that installs skins and such. http://www.flyakiteosx.com/download/ ...or you could just get a mac, and dual boot it if you still want windows.
  2. I think Family guy is better, because its fresher, newer. Its different from the simpsons, its somewhere between sitcom and sketch. with a bit of parody thrown in.
  3. I have a suggestion, make an option where you receive email notification when your credit balance drops below X.xx credits, and to make the value you receive the notification from different amounts, e.gRecieve email notification when your credit balance drops below a certain amount: Y/NThe amount before you receive notification: 1/2/3/4/5/10/15/20/25/50/100 credits. (or something simmilar)Even without this I have to say great job Xisto
  4. I don't see a problem with the credit system. I do think that when you get below 10, there should be an option you can turn on that you get sent a reminder saying 'your credit balance is below xx' i should suggest that. I think I will. And as for the value of each word? Can you really blame them, they're trying to keep people from a) just getting hosting and now using it, make short one sentence (or less) posts that get full credit ratings, and c) They want to build a quality forum, and from my experiences here, they've got one. and a great one at that.
  5. Just with the experiences (PC software related) of having to to talk to microsoft and get them to solve a problem, not fun at all. A few of my friends have X-boxes and had problems, the ring of death and such and have also had very painful experiences with their customer service/tech support. To be honest until Microsoft improves their service, and greatly improves the quality of their products I will not be buying anything from them. (Thank god I own a mac otherwise this vow would shoot me in the foot)
  6. it might be low in fat, but high in sugar or carbohydrates, or joules/kilojoules which turn into energy if used. And if we don't use that energy do you know what it turns into? Thats right, Fat. Its just like most softdrinks, they have no fat per se but they have heaps and heaps of sugar.
  7. In regards to the pay-for-apps thing, Every new mac comes with iLife installed, iTunes, Garageband, iMovie, iDvd, iPhoto,All good apps.
  8. I've used Edubuntu which (as the name suggests) is everything a student would need (and more)

    Audio Files?

To be completely honest, there really is no way to protect your files from being downloaded, anyone that is computer savvy can download any files that appear on or in the page. With the right plugins/software you can even download the music off myspace. what are you worried about? I think that people wanting to keep a copy of your music is flattering. What you could do is put it up at a relatively low bitrate, such as 32kbps, 64kbps.... i am currently trying to think of a way that you can only play a file in a certain media player or such. by having a tone a 0dB but when played through the right software/player (which you embed in the page) the tone is gone. Or you could just put a synthesized "This is a non-commercial demo from -yourwebsite-" or "This should song should not be played other than domestic use" at the start, middle and end.
  10. I like this little topic. I personally will probably not buy a computer running windows for a very long time. I still insist the best windows computer I had was an old box that my mum got from her work, it has a whopping 32Mb of ram, a P2 I think with a whole 1GB of hard drive space. The only time it crashed was trying to play simcity 2000. It was perfect. and to be honest, with the right hardware I would go back to windows. not vista, maybe XP, but to be honest win98SE was the best in my opinion. IT NEVER CRASHED WITHOUT REASON, unlike a pc or two I've had.Next is mac. I am a mac user. I love it. I've had less problems with my mac in the last year and 3 months that I have with a computer (PC) I've had for 4 maybe 5 years. Mac have the right idea. When they release a product (for the most part) it is generally pretty stable. Other than a few hiccups which most are ironed out in 6-8 months after the release the operating . I think its something to do with them knowing what goes into every computer, and the ability to design it to be compatible with somewhat "outdated" hardware like leopard being able to run on a g4 with 867MhZ Processor and 512 Ram. The fact its cheaper to buy, theres only one version (as in basic, ultimate etc)Mac is good, stable and in my opinion kicks windows' butt
  11. Windows seven eh? sounds interesting, the images look pretty much exactly like vista to me, so It will probably be an update is my guess. Does anyone else think that vista was designed to be a "pretty" operating system, will all the pretty bells and whistles? I think most people would prefer XP over vista. Does anyone one prefer vista over XP?I know this is going off topic a bit, but I don't see the problems with macs, I was a windows user and have since moved to mac. They have got the right idea. Because they make hardware and OS it works smoothly. Microsoft has to lift its game.
  12. I like the look of the site, I do have a few comments, 1. The layout is good, I think that you should do your best to keep that layout when navigating away from the home page by using frames, e.g clicking on on the doors link opens where the information about the business is.2. I agree with Varalu on the loading smaller images when going to the doors or locks page. Or possibly organize it or have the link to doors (for example) take you to a page with one link to the designer series, and one to the elegant series with a few thumbnail examples of each.3. It could use a bit more colour (or color if you're from the US) the simple black and white is good, but maybe too minimalist (in my opinion)It's Short sharp and to the point without any flashy graphics or banners or anything, if thats how you like it thats fine. I think it could use a bit more colour, maybe a logo and if you've got one definitely put it up there. I think the only real problem is point 2, at current I'm running 1024 x 768 screen resolution and its too much to see all at once. You could use GIMP to resize the images, which I'm guessing are scanned.good site.
  13. Can anyone be more specific about what's good and whats bad? I haven't heard very good things about it. its a wait till its on dvd movie is how it was described to me.
  14. I have to agree, chocolate = good. my girlfriend is/was a serious chocoholic, addicted to chocolate. Then she found out about where the chocolate comes from. stopthetraffik.org Chocolate campaign that's a link to where the cocoa comes from for alot of the chocolate, and how children are taken and forced to pick cocoa beans.
  15. I have to agree with the general feel of the topic, Masturbation is ok, just like alot of things: In moderation.I think it is the best way to get rid of sexual frustration is to release it, and sometimes enjoying your own company is the best way to do it.And as for the the prevention of teenage pregnancy, but as a doctor once said, "Masturbation is still the safest sex"it relieves stress, gives you an endorphin rush. and feels good after a long hard day sometimes (No pun intended)as far as an addiction, I think its probably just a stage that most people go through, but if you get into a long term relationship and you can't stop. I think thats when you might have a serious problem.
  16. You're also forgetting if (I know this was the case in windows media player 10, but since converting to mac I haven't tried it with any more recent version of wmp) you use the media browser/finder thing that finds content on the web(I can't remember what its called sorry), if you have your settings correct you can access the page/s in internet explorer, and instead of clicking play you can right click and go "Save file as..."
  17. Thank you bluebear, I'm glad that someone sees it the way I do, Maybe its because I had extremely good experiences just before, maybe its because I'm in customer service, I really can't explain it. All I was looking for was a sorry, just one word. I turned down the upgrade, but I was courteous to wait until there was no line, surely she could have at least said one word, sorry. If I was really uptight or angry about it I would have spoken to a manager or something more. I have had a number of things happen to me, things people have said to, sorry I mean at me. Demanded either compensation or an apology or both. I didn't demand anything I just patiently waited and said politely, "Excuse me I ordered a shake, sorry." I said it why couldn't she?I have better things to do than complain about one experience, and it hasn't soured me. I'm not a huge fan of mass produced fast food.P.S Forgive my late reply, I haven't had a chance to look back at this thread in a while.
  18. Possibly because at the time you had no credits. but one of the moderators have said you're not forgotten, so just be patient.
  19. I'm sorry I have to agree with people who actually use os x, it is awesome. and itunes sucks on a pc, its ok on a mac, and there's nothing better right now to replace it.
  20. With the old computer you want to transfer from how big is the bulk of your music collection (rough number would suffice) and have you got wireless from the computer to your laptop? another option would be to burn it to DVDs (If you've got a DVD burner)or getting a portable hard drive and copying to and from that
  21. This isn't going to be one of those 'mac rules windows sucks' posts. This is why I dislike microsoft. It began with my desktop computer. The motherboard needed replacing, so we got it replaced then windows didn't work. the copy that came with the computer didn't work because the hardware had changed. The company that repaired the computer (I'm afraid of going in desktops, i don't mind putting ram in laptops though, its not as scary) installed windows for us How is a mystery to me, probably their license possibly. Fine. the computer works. Time to re-install all our programs. then there was the battle royale that was trying to get Microsoft office 2003 installed and activated. (The three license copy, the desktop, my laptop and the friend that we went bought it with and so technically this would be the fourth copy. I spent 5 days, explaining to microsoft customer service representatives all around the world. Every time i was (supposedly) talking to the next level of technical support each time. all of which said to uninstall and re-install each time. I said, I've already done this 3 and 4 times already and it hasn't worked, "Just try it again, you might get lucky" the most sophisticated thing i got other than restart it and reinstall it was remove the entries in the registry. none of which were successful in the end i was just given a new CD key. it took 5 days at at least 10 different people which was an absolute pain.Oh, while I think about it microsoft did their patented "Blame the manufacturer". How the manufacturer is responsible for a program not activating VIA TELEPHONE is beyond me. it really it.I don't believe microsoft has treated me fairly. Considering that it took me 5 days for them to give me a new product key. I did not enjoy this and as a result I will not be buying any more microsoft products unless it comes bundled with a computer I buy (not likely since I'm mac and not going back because all of my questions that I have about my mac machine, software that came with it (most of the rest is freeware) can be answered by the helpful staff where I bought the machine)
  22. I normally blog to relieve my stress or frustration on an issue. Be it one about people, my generation, technology or anything. its my way of having a rant about whatever it is that is annoying me at that time. I also try to offer solutions (where possible), or why I think what I think, and it is open to discussion.
  23. I would have to say I agree with the general consensus. I think most girls looks prettier without makeup. The thing that pains me is when I see a beautiful girl wearing more makeup than there is paint on this house. Girls look more natural and healthy when they wear less (or no) makeup. I have to admit my girl looks great without makeup, and on days when she needs it to feel pretty she only wears a small amount. Hardly anything compared to what she used to wear. My second point is alot of girls wear makeup to feel pretty. Guys might tell them they are beautiful but they don't feel it. and for some its a mask.
  24. That's an interesting point. I think thats not a bad idea. I have to agree treating something with so much respect.
  25. On monday I experienced something that I haven't in a long time. Good customer service. I work in the line of customer service, and I have come to the conclusion, there are different levels you can provide. True customer service is hardly ever given anymore. For example, I ordered from McDonalds recently and I ordered a McFlurry and a Sundae. I was given a McFlurry and a Shake. It was at the start of a minor busy period (3 or 4 people were behind me waiting to order), so I waited until the others were served, and I said to the lady that served me in a polite tone, "I Ordered a sundae, not a shake, sorry." She replaced it without fuss, even offered me a large one instead of the small one I ordered and payed for, however she did not apologise. The first thing I would have done was ok, Sorry. I'll get that for you. To me it says that she didn't admit she was wrong, or that she made a mistake. That is whats wrong these days, its all about speed, accuracy, and making money, there's no "Love". I want the love, The love is the kind smile, the little chat. The service I got from the place I got my Mac Ugraded, The day I dropped it in they were down in staff, had plenty of work, and still gave the kind, friendly "Extra" step. That's what I call the "Love" the kind of people who enjoy what they do. I guess that's what it comes down to enjoyment. If you don't enjoy what you do, you won't go that extra mile. Is it a job, career, or more than that? With the major chains, Alot of places (the major chains and such) seem to believe that accuracy and speed is customer service. It is to an extent, but it won't make someone feel good about the service, its enough for them to not complain. Real service is going out of your way when you don't have to. Taking that extra step, not just selling them something they don't want. I work in customer service, and having a chat, which is one of the extra steps you can take, is not approved of...
