  1. Hi All,I am contemplating on getting a small scooter to run around in for a few reasons, A it will be mine not my parents, B they are pretty fuel efficient, C Convenience.I am looking at some scooter models and they are fairly cheaply priced (compared to cars) one thing That is confusing me is the licensing reqs. There are different 'classes' of vehicles.RE = A motorbike with an engine size of 250 millilitres (ml)R = A motorbike with an engine size more than 250 ml.It is saying in multiple places that a 50cc Scooter can be driven on a C (car) class licence. Can anyone help me by putting the engine size (as per the licence classes above) into equivalent (or close to) in CCs? I take it 50ccs is well under a 250ml engine size.thanks.
  2. I agree, Nokia is the best. I have had numerous nokias and battery life (as in as it ages) was the only reason I got a new one. I had a 5110 that was my dads, that was my first phone. Then for the First phone I bought I got a 2100. (like the updated 3315, new body and more compact) and that lasted me for years. The battery life got a bit low (also probably due to use) I tried different companies after that, Sagem (which was ok. I only got it for features I never ended up using), Samsung with after 18 months or so the keyboard died. after that I bought a Nokia 5140i. Excellent phone. The screen was 'funny' I took it to nokia and replaced it (covered by warranty) for free I took my dads phone into nokia also to get a non warranty repair, their policy at the time was $35 to look at, and if you decide to get the repair done, that $35 comes off the cost of the repair, (I don't know what happens if the repair is under $35). That was at the Nokia Care Centre in Brisbane (AU). Great service, and on time with what they say. E.G 'it should be ready by mid next week' and it is. they text you when your phones ready to be picked up. The next phone I'm looking at getting will be a Nokia E71, or the HTC google phone. That might not be for a year or so though. The best phones, and a great support team to match. (Then again I haven't done that with any other phone)
  3. I agree with shadowx, any guy who cheats is nowhere near worthy of you. A piece of advice which I think ShadowX was hinting at, don't take him back. I know girls that have been really lovestruck by a guy and put up with so much s*it, I mean cheating, putting friends before your girl literally ALL THE TIME, Lying, Flirting with other girls, you name it he pretty much did it. and she still stuck with him and she asked me for advice and I said this (not a direct quote) Are you tired of putting up with all these things that he's been doing? Do you really think he's going to change? Do you think a break up would be fair under the circumstances? and we both know if you do dump him he'll have a new girlfriend within two weeks. When giving friends advice I tend to just ask them questions, I encourage them not to tell me the answers, but just to think about them. One of my girlfriend's best friends recently came out of a relationship with a guy because, lets face it he is a t*sser, D*ckhead and all around man-*BLEEP*. She was getting sick of his behaviour and all he wanted was sex. I don't know the break up scenario, but as far as I'm told (by the guy) the weekend after he was in a threesome, (which to be honest I know he's mostly talk) and he's 18, he's now dating a girl who is 14. Not all of us guys are like that, though the sad fact is more often than not you complain about guys to your best guy friend, not mate, buddy or pal, friend. That same friend who could possibly harbouring a crush on you, who sometimes feels as if you don't even see him as a guy. Thats what you want someone you can talk to. And No, Not all of us guys are like that

    Mac Software

I was just wondering if there are different pieces of software available that do these things (for mac) -Put a layer on your desktop that you can draw on-a good (free) all in one organizer (calendar, contacts etc.) app-A good media player out there (other than itunes)-a way to get widgets on your desktop (stuff like reminders)-Something simmilar to stacks (for tiger users) I saw overflow, but that's not free, is there a free equivalent?
  5. The other way is to turn off hidden files and folders, and go into the ipod control folder and pull them out of there (provided it is in disk mode)
  6. I really hate any of those type ads, the 'shoot the gold ipod/iphone', the thing is they're not just on one or two sites. There's on pretty much every site. I have to admit, I turn on the pop-upblocker and shoot to my hearts content.
  7. "Selling" music freely would require the costs of production to be paid for another way, such as sponsorship. E.G a CD with album artwork and a coke logo on the front and back, and maybe the first or last track with a voiceover 'This album is brought to you by coke' Or there's what radiohead did, release their album digitally, and you paid what you thought was fair, or you could pay XX amount and get a boxed editioin.
  8. It's a purely cosmetic thing... Actually doing that would probably make the reason I do re-install it redundant. I normally re-install it because My docs get so full of cr*p I either re-install or backup, wipe and copy the extra-important stuff back. Boy am I glad I realized that. I am thinking of dual booting it. I'll let you know.
  9. Thanks Galexcd you are a legend... Now to find which ones I would need (which i think ill wait til i do the reinstall next time , then I'll have them for future use. Thanks again
  10. I was just wondering is there any way to put updates for OS X on a CD/DVD flash drive?Every couple months I like to re-install tiger and have a fresh start (For no particular reason other than cleaning)and every time I do it i have to download a couple gig worth of updates (My restore disk that came with the macbook is 10.4.7 or so)Thanks
  11. Hi all, EDIT: I realized that doing this would eleviate nothing. I re-install because my home folder gets so full of junk its easier to re-install then sort. I do not need this advice anymore. But feel free to reply, someone might one day I was wondering if I could partition my harddrive in my macbook while doing a clean install of os x tiger like this: partition 1 the 'system' partition – Install the OS there, have it approx 40-60GB (Minimum for install with 5 gig or so extra space) Partition 2 the 'files' partition – Where I keep all my docs and drag and drop applicationss and music and such, In other words this would be my 'home drive' (like the home folder) I know I could do it, but will the OS X system partition be able to read the 'files' The reason for wanting to do this is every now and then (probably 3-4 months) I like to do a fresh install just to tidy up everything and I'm tired of having to backup 70-odd gig of data. Thanks
  12. Hi all,I was wondering is there a way I could make a field in a form that will take you to the address you enter in it?(in other words)Site: Xisto.com (go)and clicking go takes you to Xisto. I will explain why. What I have done is set up a page with frames, I've got all my most visited sites on the left, and I browse in the right, I want to make a frame up the top of the browsing window that will be like the address bar, Just to retain this framed setup. (I will put a google box in it too).Alot of you are probably wondering why, its for purely aesthetic reasons. Thanks all.
  13. I think you have the wrong subforum. This is the books forum. But I would take the one thats more fun to play, I enjoy a bit of a challenge.
  14. How many of you download music, and how much of your music library is made up of downloaded music? This is for an assignment. And I need some numbers. Feel free to post your thoughts, Should music be free?
  15. Thanks for all your help. I did find something that looked like it suited my needs, geexbox. But I dont think it agrees with my graphics card/monitor. Its like its getting stuck in a loop to change the screen res. It changes it and then within a second, it tries to change it again, and again, and again. Driver problem I'd Guess. It looked perfect. But I guess like Me & Angelina Jolie, it wasn't meant to be.
  16. I realize i could do that with practically any OS, but I'm looking for something that makes it exclusively a CD/DVD player.
  17. Thanks cat5e, I like ubuntu too. But I am looking for something that just plays CDs & DVDs. I mean something that will make it Just into a CD/DVD player. I would dual boot it make the 'CD player' OS Default but have the option to boot into windows. Or does what I want not really exist?
  18. Does anyone know of an OS that will turn my computer into a glorified CD or DVD player? Thanks :lol:Edit: Something of a media center would be good
  19. Fat you can't have files bigger then 4gb (I think) OR so I discovered with my portable hard drive going between mac and windows.I'm not sure if its just with mac.
  20. It depends what you want it for. If you want just an ipod go for the classic. If you want something more like a PDA go for a touch. Have a think what you really want. What you need is an ipod. after there its what you want, and future-proofing. Do you want an ipod with a tonne of features? or do you want an ipod with a tonne of storage? That is the question.
  21. Don't worry I didn't get my first 'proper' kiss till I was nearly 18. Embarassing I know eh?Don't sweat it. you'll find someone that you'll like and maybe even... who knows? Best of luck.If the first kiss is amazing, it makes the wait worthwhile.
  22. In The article it tells of the three ways to trim it down, Nlite trimming the install CD (and burning a new one), A utility to make it run faster, and a post install trimmer xplite.I did it and made 3 different Xp Install CDs With nLite. Two out of three worked. One just keeps loading itself and re-formatting the drive and re-copying the files for installation. its caught in a loop for whatever reason. It serves a purpose. I just use it in a virtual machine on my mac. it works great. Right now XP Plus a few programs is all up 1.3 gig or something like that. It's Great! I wonder how my trimmed XP would work on older hardware. I can run it with 64mb Ram on my dual core mac... I wonder what it would be like on something with less impressive specs.Nlite works a treat. Just curious, Is it Legal?EDIT: I worked out why it keeps reformatting and recopying the files, I set it to not show the 'press any key to boot from cd' And thus it keeps booting from CD.
  23. I was reading an article http://lifehacker.com/374376/trim-down-windows-to-the-bare-essentials About how to strip down XP. It looks good, and relatively easy. I have not tried it yet. And will (hopefully) this weekend. I Will let you know how it goes. (I'm wanting to run Windows in a Virtual machine on my mac. But the regular windows XP is too bloated for me. And seems to be the only one with "Full" Utilities like seamless/Coherence modes etc.) Finger Crossed.
  24. To Be completely honest, I believe children should learn both, Creationism and evolution. You raise an accurate point, They can't both be taught in science because creationism is a belief, not a theorem. And Evolution is a theorem. It was said that Darwin denounced on his deathbed evolution. But thats another argument. I think if evolution is taught in science, then creationism should be taught in Social science/Social studies.Just remember this:Scientific view on the beginning of existence: The big bang theoryChrisitian view on the beginning of existence: God said, 'let there be light'Does that sound simmilar to you? could it be a metaphor?
  25. My first computer was running windows 98, had a whopping 1.5GB Hard drive, and a massive 32mb worth of ram. No Graphics card. And I can't remember what the CPU was, probably a p1 or p2
