  1. +1 for apple if you've got the budget. Don't buy the low end Toshiba ones. I bought one and the screen hinge broke about 8 months into owning it and guess what, The casing wasn't covered by warranty... I would recommend regardless of brand one with a hinge like this http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Seriously consider apple if you have the budget, I bought a 10 year old mac that still works! a few of my teachers use mac laptops they've had for 5+ years... all of which are capable of running the latest Mac operating system. I've had mine for two years (now in its third year, and minus going for one that was under spec'd for what I use it for and having to upgrade HD & Ram) it has been running smoothly.
  2. I use a 2.1 setup, its a boston acoustics set of speakers, I bought of a teacher in high school for $50. great little rig. its gives a great sound
  3. He ate salads, wraps and the 'healthy stuff' in other words he (in one sense) ate healthy for 6 months. Its possible if he ate healthily and exercised to lose maybe not that much weight in 6 months. It does sound like some sort of advertisement. I'm surprised they're not milking it, like Subway did with Jared or whatever the subway guy's name was.
  4. your BMI says your weight is normal/average.Do some crunches, go for a run/jogging at least 2 times a week for 15+ minutes at a time. Some pushups, situps and weights wouldn't go astray. Look at getting some 2.5KG (5 or so pounds).Don't expect immediate results. and good luck
  5. I saw this phone The hummer HT2 and was wondering what anyone thinks of it. all the reviews i've seen, seem to just list the features in the same matter. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  6. In Australia there are courses that give you a high school diploma/senior certificate through TAFE/collegeand 'adult education centers'.It's not high school, but it gives you the equivalent qualifications
  7. i'm not a doctor nor do I have children. I would think that to start schooling from someone other than a parent. I think that if you teach your child to count, and the alphabet and maybe even the beginnings to read.what would this schooling involve?
  8. I do believe that RJM has some merit. I think the layout is somewhat confusing and not as easy to navigate as it once was. That is probably the sole reason I have stopped posting as frequently. I think part of it is the layout. check out http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/ which I think have a great layout, a 2 column layout. I prefer the older layout. the previous one I'm sure. I think a 2 column layout would be better.
  9. Chances are its not a laptop, its probably a netbook, which would explain the linux install.I agree with the USB install.
  10. That's a great move. Quicktime + iTunes SUCK on a PC. They are awesome on my mac though. Now all they need to do is make ipod support in WMP
  11. Not true. as long as its in disk mode, open it up and there should be a .ipod control folder, a hidden one, so you would need to turn off hiding hidden files and folders. Try that out it worked with my shuffle
  12. Does anyone know how to loop your computers clock (If possible)? so that it thinks its the same week or month. I did a bit of googling on the topic, but to no avail.
  13. First of all, I'm getting the Nokia E71, and I am wondering which sort of case I should get, A Crystal/Hard or a Silicone/Gel one. Which is better, I want something that will reduce the damage taken from the inevitable bumps and drops. Which do you think its better to make the phone more sturdier. Has anyone with a Nokia E71 gone to http://www.e71fanatics.com/, some great resources on there free themes, and general news (e.g latest on syncing with google contacts. The other thing is Mac & E71, Which is the best way to sync? The iSync plugin, Nokia sync for mac. I'm talking to E71 mac users... if any.
