Copyright Exists the moment material is 'fixed' (In other words put into tangible form. Written down, recorded scaned etc.) Protection is instant and automatic. When commissioning someone to create logos or take photos remember to discuss copyright before the work commences.Just like if you're in a band, make sure once you've written a song to put into writing who owns what percentage of the song. There are millions of dollars frozen because a bands are fighting over who owns how much of the songs. To be completely honest, I don't think anyone should really learn indepth about copyright, I have and now I can't seem to stop applying it to everyday life. Has my work got an APRA license (Here in Australia our Performing right collection agency is apra) Or a PPCA (In Australia we recognised copyright in a sound recording and the Phonographic Performace Company of Australia) License. That's my little bit on copyright :)I just can't stop thinking about it. It is an interesting topic. The context I've learnt it in is Music Industry wise. P2P Filesharing is making songwriters miss out on Mechanical royalties.

I know about crossover, its not an emulator as such, it allows you to run windows software because it runs windows compatible files (DLL)I have used it, it was pretty good what I used it for. Simply office 2000 on the mac. Before I discovered iWork

I have to re-install windows every 2-3 months. Because it doesn't like my computer. Let me explain this. I have 2 Hard Drives installed in the machine, both 40GB. When I install windows it recognises both Hard drives (when asking which one to install) So I install on the master drive. Recently i formatted the slave drive (which i normally don't do) and it actually recognised it (woohoo) but after so long it decides it can't mount the boot volume... the boot volume is (apparently) unbootable. despite the two or so months prior to it when it was great and doesn't say a word.Hrmm.... If it gave me some warning, that would be good. but its windows XP... it works, most of the time.

I'm looking for a light linux distro, but something decent, that will only run on about 128-256 ram, CPU 1.8GHz, that has office (probably open office or abiword) that won't need more than about 2-4GB hard drive. (Something like puppy linux)Just to run in an emulator. I'm asking because there might be a killer distro out there that I haven't heard of or found that someone might know about. If not puppy linux will be great for it.Thanks

It's all down to what you want a laptop for. They're designed to be ultra portable for students, Developing countries (as already mentioned) and for business types. Its not designed for anyone really computer savvy (in my opinion) Just for someone who wants to type and surf. The PC for grandma if you like.if you want something with a bigger hard drive or more oomph, get a 'real' laptop. the kind you pay serious money for.N.B When I said 'Real' I didn't mean to offend, I simply meant a 'serious' laptop. with dual core, etc etc.I would like to get a copy of the linux that comes with it working.... I've downloaded an iso and it doesn't work with Q kju.... no luck so far,

Cancer is something that I don't think they fully understand what actually causes it. For example apparently you can get cancer from anything, Mobile phones, burned toast. (No disrespect to anyone with the disease) but I don't think scientists fully understand the disease yet.

I've got an assignment which is to do an electronic press kit. I have decided to do a website (for the moment) My only problem is submitting it. The lecturer wants it submited on a cd. Now I've thought about it a number of ways:1. Doing the pages and having them done one PDF file and linking within the file (not what I really want to do2. Having the website and burning it CD, but having it still work as it does on a webserver3. just doing it as something else, such as a keynote/powerpoint presentation.4. Do it all in iWeb and just take it across, providing that the lecturer has iWeb on his mac, and actually marks on it.I am running mac os 10.4.11I have iLife installed, and am going to purchase iWork 08. I would prefer it to be accessable for both mac and pc.I am working with the coding, using smultron and a css template. PS could this simply be done by changing the way I link? is there a way to tell it to look in the same folder for a hrml file, or a subfolder for pictures and other documents i would link.

I dont know about that. microsoft leaving windows. I dont really know. I could believe leaving vista... hehe... I honestly don't understand why they would abandon windows. unless they were starting from the ground up, redesigning the operating from dos to GUI. And as for Midori the web based operating system that's meant to be its replacement, I really don't know. I know that in Australia you wouldn't be able to get affordable web access that would enable you to be running a web based operating system. I mean for $60 a month I get unlimited usage... just after the first 12gb your speed is capped to like 56k... I think its Ironic, I made a post yesterday or the day before about ajaxwindows.com, a web based desktop (simmilar to what I would expect midori might be) I think there's probably a misunderstanding somewhere as to what midori will be. Still it will be interesting to see.

personally I would want something different, light yet not too light. I think bee gees would be way too light. maybe some old big band numbers, Glenn miller in the mood http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, Les Brown's Leapfrog http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ... I don't know something about big band does it for me as my 'final song' a big send off with a big band number. and sorry about the link to the 2nd video. its the best one i could find.

I think its a great idea for the average student, being able to work on everything and have it stored in one place where you can access it from pretty much any computer. (of course you need the net)other than it being a huge drain on net usage i think its great. I do use google docs more though.

I think 13 is a good age to get a phone, but the phones these days have way too many features for a kid that age. they won't treat it like its a phone, but like access to the net, music player blah blah blah. Just something that makes calls and sends sms' thats really all they need. ...that or an old hand-me-down

I wouldn't dream of doing this. I could handle it. I just don't think the people around me could. My girlfriend for one. my mum for another.... I could and would happily live without it.

Driver was a classic game, the first (to my knowledge) one to venture into 3-D that wasn't a purely racing. It is such a good game, still to this day one of my favorites. I didn't like driver 2, simply because I couldn't finish it

We all know about GTA Vice city's three weapon cheats, is there a fourth one? with tear gas and the big automatic rifle you can only get in the army base in one of the towers?

Advice For Guyz By Girls And Visa Versa help us out people

Girls: Don't play hard to get, there was this girl that rejected me when I asked her out. I moved on, and later she said to me that she liked me and so on and so forth, and asked me why I didn't continue to chase her... because she rejected me I moved on. Guys have enough trouble reading the signs, don't put it in a foreign language. -
Its like a computer in your web browser. http://ww1.ajaxwindows.com/rg-erdr.php?_rpo=t It looks good from what i've seen. Like a computer in a window. all files saved on their server, and so long as you've got internet access (at a decent speed) all you need to do is sign up. I'm surprised google hasn't done something simmilar, they seem to offer everything else... Docs, maps, medical records. Other than the major drain on my internet usage (which i use enough of as it is)...

Its a shame the topic is called "Astrology is fiction" it should be more of a discussion, like "is astrology real" or something simmilar. and as for astrology, in my opinion its as accurate as the weather, (not intended to be offensive). I think its just like the weather, not an exact science.

I'd take Open office over Microsoft office, I prefer open office. Its WAY cheaper, i think it works just as well, and its compatibility is pretty good (in my experience, then again its only been simple word and excel stuff)But being a mac man I've got the option of apple's iWork, Pages kicks words butt, Keynote runs circles around powerpoint, and as for numbers vs excel. I haven't really tried numbers that in depth. but it all looks good.
