  1. +1 for apple if you've got the budget. Don't buy the low end Toshiba ones. I bought one and the screen hinge broke about 8 months into owning it and guess what, The casing wasn't covered by warranty... I would recommend regardless of brand one with a hinge like this http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Seriously consider apple if you have the budget, I bought a 10 year old mac that still works! a few of my teachers use mac laptops they've had for 5+ years... all of which are capable of running the latest Mac operating system. I've had mine for two years (now in its third year, and minus going for one that was under spec'd for what I use it for and having to upgrade HD & Ram) it has been running smoothly.
  2. I use a 2.1 setup, its a boston acoustics set of speakers, I bought of a teacher in high school for $50. great little rig. its gives a great sound
  3. He ate salads, wraps and the 'healthy stuff' in other words he (in one sense) ate healthy for 6 months. Its possible if he ate healthily and exercised to lose maybe not that much weight in 6 months. It does sound like some sort of advertisement. I'm surprised they're not milking it, like Subway did with Jared or whatever the subway guy's name was.
  4. your BMI says your weight is normal/average.Do some crunches, go for a run/jogging at least 2 times a week for 15+ minutes at a time. Some pushups, situps and weights wouldn't go astray. Look at getting some 2.5KG (5 or so pounds).Don't expect immediate results. and good luck
  5. I saw this phone The hummer HT2 and was wondering what anyone thinks of it. all the reviews i've seen, seem to just list the features in the same matter. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  6. In Australia there are courses that give you a high school diploma/senior certificate through TAFE/collegeand 'adult education centers'.It's not high school, but it gives you the equivalent qualifications
  7. i'm not a doctor nor do I have children. I would think that to start schooling from someone other than a parent. I think that if you teach your child to count, and the alphabet and maybe even the beginnings to read.what would this schooling involve?
  8. I do believe that RJM has some merit. I think the layout is somewhat confusing and not as easy to navigate as it once was. That is probably the sole reason I have stopped posting as frequently. I think part of it is the layout. check out http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/ which I think have a great layout, a 2 column layout. I prefer the older layout. the previous one I'm sure. I think a 2 column layout would be better.
  9. Chances are its not a laptop, its probably a netbook, which would explain the linux install.I agree with the USB install.
  10. That's a great move. Quicktime + iTunes SUCK on a PC. They are awesome on my mac though. Now all they need to do is make ipod support in WMP
  11. Not true. as long as its in disk mode, open it up and there should be a .ipod control folder, a hidden one, so you would need to turn off hiding hidden files and folders. Try that out it worked with my shuffle
  12. Does anyone know how to loop your computers clock (If possible)? so that it thinks its the same week or month. I did a bit of googling on the topic, but to no avail.
  13. First of all, I'm getting the Nokia E71, and I am wondering which sort of case I should get, A Crystal/Hard or a Silicone/Gel one. Which is better, I want something that will reduce the damage taken from the inevitable bumps and drops. Which do you think its better to make the phone more sturdier. Has anyone with a Nokia E71 gone to http://www.e71fanatics.com/, some great resources on there free themes, and general news (e.g latest on syncing with google contacts. The other thing is Mac & E71, Which is the best way to sync? The iSync plugin, Nokia sync for mac. I'm talking to E71 mac users... if any.
  14. This was more of an observation. I'm not blaming the girlfriend or the relationship, but alot of people I know that get into long term relationships put on a bit...
  15. I'm sure you can change the amount before you see that message. It's a percentage though.
  16. My first phone was a Nokia 5110, the big Nokia with an aerial. I just looked it up and seeing so many 'No' next to features. Back when a phone was just a phone.
  17. I use Camino, It is (to my understanding) mozilla but re-designed for the mac. http://caminobrowser.org/ Its like a cross between firefox and safari. it looks like it belongs on a mac, more so than the new firefox's standard theme. It's not as customizable as firefox. but its still great.
  18. What do you think of the new bond theme? I don't think its that great. compared to some of them. WAY TOO complex. and it doesn't make me go 'HELL YEAH BRING ON THE BOND!' Many of the Bond Themes are a great fusion of Modern music with epic orchestral backing. But another way to die seems to lack a good fusion, it just doesn't get me 'in the mood for bond' compared to other themes. (No I haven't seen the new movie)What are your thoughts? and what are your favorites?Mine are GOLDFINGER!, JAMES BOND THEME (From Dr. No), You Know my name... To Name a few.
  19. I'll tell you my story, At the start of the year I started to get in shape. Losing weight, getting fit getting stronger. Getting healthy. And Then I started going out with my girlfriend. For the first few months I continued the training. Once I realised things were getting serious my training came to a steady halt. Since then I have gained back all the weight I have lost, and then some (I blame Christmas for the extra kilos). I am finding it hard to get motivated. I think that the long term relationship (Which I'm still in) is the reason my training stopped. Has anyone else put on weight/stopped training since they got in a long term relationship?
  20. Sorry all. I tried to add this topic but my network connection dropped out. The topic should have said:I have had trouble since i uninstalled the bootcamp beta, and made the mac harddrive into a single partition, Since then It has been loading slowly. Very slowly. Well at the first screen, instead of the apple, and the 'throbber' it would just stay grey for 10-20 seconds then load mac os x as per usual.EDIT: Later this afternoon I remedied the situation. I'm not sure which worked, I verified the disk permissions on the disk and then changed the startup disk (i didn't really change it) then rebooted. And its now back to its normal bootup time
  21. Hi,I'm in Australia, and I'm looking for a new mobile phone, Ideally something 2G with wi-fi, that's still on sale brand new. Otherwise I was looking at the Nokia E71, or waiting until something mindblowing comes out in the next 6 months or so. now we're seeing things 'on par' with the iPhone like the new blackberry iphone knock-off. one reviewer said its great, but it tries too hard to be an iphone.
  22. Speaker- It's no different than any other phone speaker. Only difference is most other phones its just a loudspeaker... Ringtones are exactly the same to do with other phones, with others though you'd have to chop it up in audacity or such. I am holding out because soon there will be some stuff on the market that will blow the iphone out of the water. (That's what I think)
  23. Who said that? I beg to differ majorly. My first kiss was a forced peck on the cheek when I was 12. I do have to admit the kisses I've been getting lately from my girlfriend. now THEY are the best. My first kiss with my girlfriend was nice, not the greatest, but nice.
