  1. Very good to know, I find that there are times in programming class (it's high school) that it is very useful to be able to disable the speakers; however, we usually end up disabling them the more permenant way (snip snip).
  2. Hm, well I self-taught myself C++ in 7th grade because I saw my friend (who works for IBM) working on a project that interested me; however, I never really "taught" myself, but more just learned how to use it. I know now how bad my programming is even if it does do what I want it to do (most of the time); however, I hope that I will learn better concepts when I get into college. This is definitely great advise for anyone looking to learn C++ though.
  3. You need to setup an ftp server to share files and that's more work than needed if it's on a local network, it's much quidker with file sharing. As for the original question, I have no idea unfortunatly. I had to help with a vista computer once and ran into this problem as well and couldn't figure it out, good luck and I hope you can find it (Note: I didn't try very hard at fixing it, just a few quick trial-errors).
  4. hahaha, and that is why i don't go shopping with females, love the pic, that's going on myspace .
  5. This is complete BS. I know many African Americans that are smarter than I am, to say that they aren't as smart is a completely racist comment. Certainly whites in the US may know more than many blacks in Africa, but that does not mean they are not as smart just that they didn't get the same education as us.
  6. I didn't get the orange box, mainly because my computer isn't good enough to play the games just yet; however, I have seen the trailer for portal after being told about it by 3 different people in one day (kind of figured it was time to check it out). The trailer looks amazing and I can't wait until I can play it. I heard there will be a map editor for portal to prolong gameplay, but i haven't heard too much about it. As for the half-life episode 2, I can only imagine that it will be as good as the rest of the half-life series (insanely awesome), but again, I don't plan on getting that any time soon.
  7. I can play piano, I started learing about 8 years ago, but grew out of it 4 years into it. I've recently started to just play by myself, for fun, but I haven't really learned anything new. I don't remember my first song I played, I think I had to learn all the theory and stuff first, but yea, It's fun, but I've never gotten a girl from playing piano . It's still great to know though and it really helps when you start learning a new instrument. It helped me alot when I started clarinet.
  8. I love it. The first Command & conquer game I played was generals so this was completely new to me, but it was awesome. I love the US Ion cannon, complete destruction. And the completely different play types of each faction adds so much depth and strategy to the game that you must change your play style everytime you play somebody. I think one of the best features as well is that even though the graphics were upgraded the load on the system is the same as generals if not less. I get about the same frames per second in command and conquer 3 as I do in generals, I was very happy with that seeing as I've never had a great computer. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who likes the command and conquer series.
  9. very entertaining, i love the last part, gives the impression he's met her already, lol. Awesome
  10. I am actually in the same situation. I haven't let it change my friendship though. We are just friends, we haven't really talked about how we feel about each other (mainly because she hasn't told me herself that she likes me), but I know. I think the best idea is to just do things together as friends, try not to feel awkward and try not to lead him on if you don't feel the same for him.
  11. If my parents died I would be very sad, but I would think about the song "When I get where I'm going" by brad Paisley and ask God for guidance, I know he would help me through anything that comes my way. I don't think it would hit me as hard as it would my brother even though I'm much closer to my parents, but I think I would still be very somber for a few weeks after.
  12. wow, that's all I have to say. This is kind of embarrassing as a race that governments are now giving incentives to have sex. I know if the U.S. did anything like this there would be an uprising, but even though it's Russia, it's still very embarrassing.
  13. I think that's the government trying to restrict too much on what the people do; however, I think it is still a good thing because it will help reduce the consumption of power; therefor, reducing greenhouse gases to help preserve the atmosphere. If the U.S. did something like this then we could save billions on energy bills, so I think ultimately it is a great law.

    Nintendo 64

The N64 was an awesome system, but I found the joysticks on the controllers would stop working too easily. It's probably the second best system (Wii being the best). I used to have one, but sold it a few years back, unfortunatly I think you only can get them on ebay or garage sales since they are no longer produced. You could always try bookmans though.
  15. I voted yes and no. Yes because if I'm on the computer it's completely boring if I can't get online and talk to my friends, but no because I can actually survive without internet if I'm off doing something else. I think the whole interactive aspect of the internet is what makes it so attractive.
  16. I did this too, I got about 15 installs and I had to call them, pretty need trick I never knew they had. But it's not a big deal, just takes a lil' longer to install xp now. I hardly use the disk now though, so that's not even a big deal. It is one thing to keep in mind though, that way you don't get stuck with a half loaded windows xp system because your phone died .
  17. oh, I remember reading about this awhile back. It's some highly condensed chip that does several functions at once to speed up the whole process. It's very amazing, the only problem I see in it is that the wires needed are extremely expensive and could never be used to connect the whole internet, but only mainframes in a building such as large data backup.
  18. honestly, I find that boasting about muscles you may have is a quick way to being disliked, actually, boasting about anything. It's alot better to be modest about what you have, people will like you much more, i'm not saying you boast, but it does sound like you do. I'm alot like you though, very skinny, white, but some decent muscle structure; however, I usually try to hide my muscles and my friends actually try to show them off for me (what gives), anyways, hope this tip may help you.
  19. Thanks for this, hopefully it will help keep this from spreading too far. Too bad people feel the need to make viruses in the first place though, it's just unneeded destruction that nobody wants. What I would like to know though, is how the programmers make these viruses without infecting their own computers.... hmmm, well, thanks for the warning!
  20. The one-shot-one-kill way of shooting is a much better way of playing. It saves tons of money in paint and it is much harder to be tracked down by the sound of your gun that way. The spray-and-pray method is horrible, if you are going to unload on somebody you need to aim otherwise you might as well dump your hopper, you should always aim. When you aim and spray at the same time you can hit your target many times to maker sure at least one ball breaks; the added bonus is that the next time the player meets you on the field he/she will be afraid of what's about to head their way. I think the best way to shoot in paintball is probably the 5-shot well-aimed burst, preferably 1-shot if your target is close and not moving much. Like I said the biggest deal is money, but it also keeps your position secret (at least if your playing in the wild).
  21. Yea, i got an email like this a little bit ago. Great thing to do. I did it, and I think it's a great idea, I think everybody should do this, it could make contacting family so much faster.
  22. I'm not afraid of death at all. I know when I die I will rejoin my saviour in heaven. The only reason I don't want to die now is so that I can continue to work for him down here. I just hope nobody will become depressed over my death because it will trully be a great thing the day I die.
  23. wow, talk about scary. Good thing he wasn't using it on his lap, that might have hurt. I hope he gets some good compensation for that, there is no way that could be user abuse. That would be a great story though. "So how'd you lose your last laptop?" - "It exploded" - "WHAT?!", haha, awesome
  24. As for the safe to drink the blood part, i'm not sure about the implications for that; however, the eating raw meat, you cook it just to get rid of potentially unsafe bacteria/diseases so you could eat the raw meat of a perfectly healthy animal and be fine, of course, it probably wouldn't taste as good without ketchup .
  25. I sleep in boxers, never naked, just isn't comfortable. I sleep in boxers all year round, i have a heavy blanket to keep me warm and feels soft and good against my skin, so yea. When I have someone else sleeping in my room though I'll either sleep with pajamas or if i'm too lazy i'll just sleep with my pants on.
