    Ps2 Or Ps3

I honestly don't believe the ps2 is dead yet. It may be old now, but it is better than the ps3 in bang for your buck anyways. It's a great system and I rank it up with xbox 360 and wii as do many of my friends. I would buy a ps2 for 150 bucks, I wouldn't buy a ps3 for that unless it has 100% backwards compatability. There may not be many new games for the ps2, but it is still a great system.
  2. Wow, lol, quite a good joke. Poor kid, won't get any of his 4th grade friends' jokes, lol, but that's a good thing.

    Ps2 Or Ps3

I believe the only addition to the PS3 from the PS2 is the wireless capability, harddrive, and the blueray drive, but other than that, it's not worth it. If you're happy with your PS2, stick with it, I'm not even sure if a PS3 is fully backwards compatable with a PS2, I believe the PS3 is waay too expensive to replace a PS2 and I doubt PS2 games will run any better on a PS3, so, that's my two cents.
  4. Well, i've definitly heard most of the windows ones, but I don't personally use them because I don't make fun, but I do have no problem of sharing my opinion about an OS (i.e. windows and how money hungry they are). Anyways, just thought I would clear up that one "doors" for windows name. Windows are a symbol of insperation in some sense because when you see a picture of a window there is usually a pretty scene through it; however, doors don't offer the insperational symbol and in a sense block insperation like microsoft does and stops innovation in the computer industry.Just my two cents.

    Runescape.

I used to play and got bored and left, it's pretty hard to get hacked if you just follow some simple guidelines though... Don't give your password to anybody. That's what I did, never had a problem. Anyways, that's just my 2 cents for anyone wondering how to keep from gettin hacked.
  6. The google web acceleratore doesn't work through google, it is just a plugin for firefox to cache the webpages you go to so the next time you go to them it will load them from your harddrive not the internet, in effect loading frequently visited pages much faster than you would normally do; however, the problem is on login site such as Xisto, when it's cached you aren't logged in, so when you log in, it loads the unlogged in site and it pretty much confuses your browser and makes forums hard to use, so this was just a warning to turn it off in forums and sites that often change.
  7. You would hope that a company that controls 90% of the market share would care when 50% of it's market share has to dual boot to an open-source competitor to get all the functionality they want, but sadly, big companies only care about profit. I think suberatu hit on a good point too, that OSes other than microsoft usually tend to have more flash, but not quite so much functionality just due to interoperability and such. I was raised on windows and hadn't even really used another OS until i dual booted ubuntu to check it out and I was flabbergasted by the visual effects included with it, that is the main reason I went through so much trouble to keep it when I was putting windows back on my machine (Yea, I broke windows when I started my dual boot), but unfortunatly I still need windows to do my real work, this does make me annoyed and wish that Microsoft would serve the customer at some point and not it's stock holders.
  8. I think the biggest reason is compatability problems, I know that's the only reason I don't get a mac, because I'm a gamer and don't want to work to get my games to work, hence the reason I now dual boot windows and ubuntu 7.10. I despise using windows because it is so bloated, but because of my job and because of my will to game, I must use it; however, as soon as another operating system makes windows programs fully compatable, i'll totally switch.
  9. wow, that's sweet, where is this contest and what type of contest is it? I think I would totatly trade my car in for that, i'll take the bus and/or just use this beast for the rest of my life. I've been wanting a laptop that can handle the next couple years of games, but this is rediculous, but I've also always wanted a water cooled system, lol.
  10. I'm a little confused as to how the definition of fun affects how the children of today are going to be leaders of tomarrow, I am of course afraid of the future because of the way chilren today are raised and act; however, it's not because they think the computer is more fun than boxes, it's because they all seem to ignore the laws and make really unwise decisions. The difference between your generation and the generation of today is the time, the american culture has changed due to technology and many families don't have sit-down dinners with their families anymore, it's just the way it is, not good, not bad, just the way it is.
  11. Hehe, i'd have to say, if I were to pirate a piece of software, I certaintly wouldn't make it an AV program as the results could be devistating.
  12. well, i checked it out and it looks ok, i signed up, but I must say, i dispise it, and i've only used for about 5 minutes, but the site won't load any pages, I get 404 errors about 60% of the time, so I don't think I'll end up using it, as much as i'd love to make money just for searching, but the search algorithms aren't even any good, so I think i'll just stick with my non-paying, but better service google account.
  13. teenagers in the US don't really care about education, at least not the teens who are going to watch 300. This is why the movie producers made no effort to put educational value in it, they just wanted the action and graphics to attract everyone.
  14. I would say the results aren't completely accurate as well, microsoft products would definitly be on the list if not the top. I'm also surprised not to see any games.
  15. wow, I betcha that's more than the downloads for internet explorer . Firefox is better and more secure, so I'm glad to see so many people use it, unfortunatly i must say, i think 3 or 4 of those hits are just me, but i'm sure there 500 million unique hits now .
  16. haha, that was hilarious, boy, i bet that was the joke in that office for a long time
  17. actually, the only thing I don't like about school is the homework, like I said I don't listen to the rude comments and just have fun with my friends, and this year I have all awesome teachers which is awesome because I'm graduating this year so i'm going out on a great year!
  18. meh, not to be uncaring or anything, but I honestly am one of the nerdiest kids at school, I seriously dressed completely nerd for halloween at school with a yellow *BLEEP* pack, glasses, combed my hair straight down the middle and wore this horrible shirt with a pocket protector with my sig on it. I am the nerd of nerds at my school, but I just ignore the insults. I dress ok on other days and I get made fun of when I wear my christian shirts, but seriously, if you just ignore them and just remember that you don't need them for you to be you, The biggest thing to remember in high school, or anytime for that matter, is that the reputation that matters is the one you have with your friends, other than that it doesn't matter what people think of you, if they make fun of you without getting to know you first, the you probably don't want to be friends with them.
  19. I completely hear you on that, as I program for the windows platform I'm forced to run windows myself (I program games, so I can't exactly hope to get customers on other systems in mass). As for open source from Microsoft, I am completely impressed and hope that some good comes from it.
  20. I completely agree with coding for easy reading, I know you may not want other people reading your code; however, it's extremely hard to fix dirty code. One thing I like to do is compartmentalize my code, such as for a site with a site wide theme, i'll make a seperate file with all the theme data and layout design that doesn't change often and then use a php include statement on my content pages and all I need to enter on my content pages is the content and there is no need to change any layout stuff for each page. If I decide to change the layout, I change one file, not ten, such as recently when I added a new page and need to put a new link in my link bar, changed a couple lines in one file and the whole website adjusted, very easy from there.
  21. Sweet, I've been thinking about making my own banner for my website and since I use linux I have GIMP and don't want to install photoshop, thanks for the tutorial, definitly gave me some help in some of the techniques to use.
  22. I got it a few weeks ago, i was only sick for 2 days though, but it was horrible, the first day I was so dizzy I almost couldn't go to the bathroom because it's half way across my house. I hope you get better soon.
  23. I'm on Ubuntu 7.10 and I use Rhythmbox music player; however, if I ever do play music while in my music partition (not often) I'll use windows media player.
  24. I use CSS all the time, i love being able to change the whole style of my entire website by changing just one file, I've actually made a script one that would change my style according to the time of year. I definitly like CSS and use it in all my websites now.
  25. I actually completely agree with the schools and the employers, especially the employers. When you put something on the internet, it isn't just for you, even on myspace, unless you set it to private (and even then) any one can see what you post, it's internet, the information is readily available to everyone. I wouldn't push for the schools to do it, unless it's a private school, but I would suggest an employer to check, that way they know who they are employing before they employ them, most myspace pages show a persons personality when they aren't trying to cover the bad parts (such as what one does in an interview), so I agree with the checking of myspaces and if you don't want someone to see it, you can delete it or change to be acceptable to employers and schools.
