  1. well it could be that they had already maxed out their card limits previously. then again, it could also have been a super expensive meal. there's one dinner in the guiness book of world records that cost around $50,000, if i remember correctly. Most expensive was a bottle of wine that cost around $20,000. so if you've got that kind of money to burn, but there's a stricter limit on your credit line, it technically is possible.
  2. A friend of mine who has an account with Xisto told me he's unable to access the website. Only advertising and search engines pop up. He tried it from different computers, and i've tried it too, with the same results. He was rather agitated as he had just come back from a trip and only had a day's worth of credits left, with no way now to post and get more. What's up with Xisto, anyone?
  3. Now here's a pretty nifty device...a hand held thunderbolt detector!! might need to get myself one!! Notice from dundun2007: This is a products description copied word for word. If you copy and paste things from a source put it in quotes!
  4. oh and one more thing. if you're planning on using it for graphic design, adobe, dreamweaver, etc. you're gonna' need something that can really punch. don't go for low budget specs for remember the saying..."you get what you pay for."and as far as celeron, i wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole!!--i guess it's cuz the Intel Celeron processor was always designed to be a low-cost or rather cheap alternative to the Pentium processor line. the most important differences between the Pentium 4 and the Celeron chips coming out today are... Cache - Celeron chips have less cache memory than Pentium 4 chips do. A Celeron might have 128 kilobytes of L2 cache, while a Pentium 4 can have eight times that. The amount of L2 cache memory can have a big effect on performance. Clock speed - Intel manufactures the Pentium 4 chips to run at a higher clock speed than Celeron chips. The fastest Pentium 4 might be 70 percent faster than the fastest Celeron. Bus speed - There are differences in the maximum bus speeds that the processors allow. Pentium 4s tend to be about 40 percent faster than Celerons. obviously they're completley different beasts!--to be honest though, the celeron will work fine for someone who's planning on sticking to MS office or internet browsing, or just checking ur e-mail but if you're planning on doing any serious computing with a celeron--run!!!as far as the Mobile centrino, this is an entirely different system, it's the latest technology in laptops and it seems that all the companies at least the biggy's have turned that way! it's an actualy designed notebook "engine" instead of sticking a desktop "engine" into a notebook.--thus no overheating and longer battery life. my friend bought one and it runs for 4 hours!--Sweet!!
  5. well, here it goes in order of Fav's...Counter StrikeNeed For Speed UndergroundAGE of empires seriesWorms World Partyand when there's not enough time for any of those, either that or if i'm bored of them then out comes the 5th option...last but not least--solitaire!while on the subject of gaming have you guys heard of the new Logitech!!sweet logi has finally gotten on the ball and released a keyboard tailored to the computer gamer!!--Yehaaaaaaaaaa!!!the new Logitech has some hot features. the main one being probably the LCD screen on the keyboard. keyboard macros can be setup on the physical keyboard while in game. also while not gaming the LCD screen can read media information, display CPU information, email alerts and the keyboard even comes with a software development kit so the coding gamers can write their own programs to display information on the LCD. backlit keys and a ?gaming button? that disable the windows key are also nice. counter strikers had better watch out once i get my hands on one of those!!
  6. I have a seimens and it's done the trick although i'm in the process of recieveing the Kinpo iDo S600 Pocket PC Phone!!!It's awesome? big touch screen, sexy removable keypad, huge tri-band love. from what i've heard it looks a bit like the Sony Ericsson P900, and runs Windows mobile on a Freescale i.MX21 266MHz CPU.It does video recording and even has a 1.3 megapixel camera as well as some nice media playback features. sweet, no?!though while on the subject of my phones...the one i'd really like to get my hands on to is the NTT DoCoMo out of Japan!!--they're releasing a new phone later this month that is a small step in getting those chatty people of the world to shut up. The phone has the ability to slow down rapid speech of the callers. With the simple tap of a button mid-call the speech on the other end is slowed to almost two times its normal rate. Now while this won?t necessarily shut up the chatty Cathy?s, they will definitely stop talking to you after they found out your imported a phone from Japan just to handle conversing with them. This phone also has a nifty pedometer and an 80dB alarm.--cool, no!!
  7. I've basically stuck to Intel throughout the years as AMD hasn't been as popular as Intel over here, making it rather unavailable. guess it has to do with marketing...microsoft.i have heard from my friends though that AMD has faster processors and it's prices are obviously more competitive!i know that a lot of people have problems with their AMD's overheating, especially people who custom build them. this has to do with the cooling system needed for an AMD processors. i read that generally they should have at least 3 fans in the box, providing ample cooling for the unit. now they've come up with the super coolent fan which only requires one and you give it a coolent injectant once evry 6 months or so to keep it in tip top shape.i'd have to say in my personal opinion that both are pretty comprable--just depends on what you do with them and how you load them.
  8. last year i bought a nikon coolpix. 8 mega pixels!--it's definitley served it's purpose and i got it for just 499$! i researched into digitals quite a bit and basically i think they're all pretty comprable. it basically boils down to what you are particularlly interested in or what feature you're looking for.just be sure to get a name brand if you're hoping to get any good out of it. Nikon, cannon, sony, olympas, kodak, fujifilm, minolta, and now HP.if you're looking for one with good specs but are tight on your budget fuji finepix is pretty sweet. they've got great specs with low prices as they're "newer" to the camera market. 2 of my friends have them and i've uesed them and they are definitley great.as far as a simple automatic point and shoot, if that's what your interested in try and get a 3.3 megapixel at least and then have fun!Oh, make sure to get a second battery as you'll definitley use it and even if you don't models are changing so fast that old batteries are often unavailable or just impossible to find and even if you do they are majorly costly.and as far as digital cameras not runing on certain operating systems--you can generally download the patch or file at the company's website from where you bought it.
  9. i just bought a new laptop for a freind. got a great offer. the latest specs-mobile centrino. 1.7 ghz. 1 gig of ram. 80 gig hardrive. cdr-dvd combo. wireless ethernet. bluetooth. 3 year guarantee. etc.--pretty sweet if you ask me and it only cost me 800 bucks!!i did some looking around and found that dell can really toot it's horn over its total dominance of the notebook market worldwide--total in the states for sure! HP is not even close to dell in the states.of course that doesn't mean that they're any better but as far as prices and sales from what i've found they're the best!! they've got great support too!!HP/compact of course make great notebooksand so does toshiba, as well as the sony viao!as far as mac's they're awfully stable and rarely crash if ever! but from what you said you're not buying it for graphics or designing so i'd go with another choice if i were you.dell has some pretty awsome sales now so you should check them out. hope that's a help
  10. for myself after installing mozilla firefox, I definately stick with firefox as my default internet browser. the reason I personally like firefox is that it has really powerful and barebone extension software to do all the scriptings that can block advertisements or any unhealthy scripts on websites. well, I use and install only ChromEdit (a simple user profile file editor), and blocking advertisement codes is needed for sure!

    Need Free Ftp Client

Filezilla, by all means. great and easy program to use. never had problems with it.
  12. i think it's worthless to try to fix it --- buy a decent new one.
  13. i bought a refurb laptop a year and a half ago, and it worked well for 6 months before the cd drive gave up. i cana ttribute that though to overheating problems with the model and not the refurb quality. i bought from a dealer with a 3 month warranty, and it was good. my opinion: 1 month=ok warranty.3 months=quite good.it's not worth the extra money to buy more warranty coverage. i would definitely buy only a brand name refurbished laptop though. compaq, dell, hp, ibm. try to avoid one that has been leased by a company because those ones are the ones that have gotten the most wear and tear. try to get one that has been bought by a normal person, but something went wrong and it was brought back. then you'll get a decent model. also, what is their refurb policy? one company offered a guarantee that their refurb laptops broke down 90% less frequently because of the extra testing that went into refurbsihing them.
  14. i hate samsung and toshiba. i have nothing but trouble with toshiba hard disks, and samsung cd/dvd burners always crap out on me after a few months. forget LG. i prefer plextor or lite-on for dvd/cd drives, and for hard disk, seagate, samsung, wd, anything but toshiba.
  15. that's total B$ about there being no way to get around it. in this country nearly everyone uses pirated software. even thoe govt. and they all downlaod the latest updates and security patches. maybe it's like the bumblebee not being able to fly according to the laws of aerdynamics, but he doesn't know it ,so he flies around anyways. they don't know they can't update, tehrefore they do.
