  1. I used Photoshop for more than 5 years and decided to try out Paint Shop Pro. Its got some interesting features, but I just can't get used to it now. I remember Ulead Photoimpact being a really good package, more like Photoshop and I didn't have any problems adapting to it a few years ago when I decided to try it instead of Photoshop again.Trouble is, photoshop and imageready doesn't seem to support MNG animations. And Animation Shop (PSP version of Imageready) supports them natively. So I dunno what to do.
  2. That PDA is really good, actually, it is like the mother of all PDAs. And thats not too bad of a price for it.I got a 100 dollar PDA from ebay, 2 year old, Palm Tungsten T and I'm really happy with that. The only problem I have is that it doesn't have wireless. The axim has an insanely fast CPU, its 624Mhz which means you can even watch divx on it (I can even do that on my TT which is only 144Mhz, although I have to OC it to around 180 for smooth playback)Another good thing about that pda is that it has a volume slider, so its good for mp3 playback. The only thing my TT would be better is probably battery life since that decreases as the CPU speed increases. I can listen to about 3-4 hours of music with the screen turned off. I would think it would be less on the axim. I have a friend who has had the exact same model for around 6 months, he seems to like it too.
  3. hmm, so which Bitcomet should I vote for, the one on the top or the one on the bottom? :angry:I recently switched to it from Azureus, nice and fast, I like it.

    Pentium Vs Amd

somehow I don't see a processor being "cool" at all :angry:and unless you are a server technician they are kinda pointless. I'm really hoping the next generation of Intel CPU's are NOT going to be called Pentium, that trademark is getting out of hand, six generations have passed and they still didn't find a better and original name...
  5. you are quiet correct, even on desktops you only gain around 10% speed increase and nothing really visible. In laptops where all the components are much closer together you'll be risking for example your harddisk, cdrom, memory and even your LCD therefore making it not worth the few percent increase in speed.
  6. I can't even believe nobody started a thread about this already. It is THE best RPG to have been released this year. Even though it isn't as good as the first game it is still very enjoyable. I have finished the game both on the dark and light side and I must say the dark side is so much more fun (although much easier since you get some very devastating force powers)The game is very buggy though, and they have been saying that a patch would be coming out for a week now. Hope they test KOTOR3 (which they have already begun making) more thoroughly before releasing. This game is a must have for any RPG fan out there.
  7. Contrary to whats said above, MACs don't actually perform any worse than PCs. Their CPUs while totally different is on par with the latest intel architecture CPUs.And Apple doesn't even have anything to worry about. They are selling iPods like crazy and making more money than they have ever done before, so they aren't nearly as close to getting "crushed" yet.
  8. One other thing, to boot the computer means to start it up. So when you switch on the power, the computer boots into an Operating System. To reboot means basically to restart. Comes in two varieties: Cold Reboot and Warm Reboot. When you go to windows shutdown and select restart, thats a warm reboot. However lets say windows crashes and you have to turn the power off and then on, thats a cold reboot. So therefore rebooting harddrives with windows doesn't make sense. Also, you can have as many harddrives as you want, it is the easiest way to increase your disk space. Old Parallel ATA interfaces generally support a maximum of 4 drives (these include any CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, CD-RWs) unless there is an extra controller on the motherboard in which case another 4 can be added.
  9. you do realize that this has nothing to do with overclocking.Overclocking is the increase of chip speeds, and speeds are measured in Mhz, KHz, Ghz, etc...What you have in the BIOS is probably either the AGP Aperture size, in which case you should set it to the maximum, or if the 9200 is using shared memory how much memory that is going to be reserved for the graphics. In that case the tech service etc are right, the 9200 cannot have 128MB of memory.
  10. don't take it personally, but I prefer the Big Mac!
  11. I would say the best is Mambo, however they are all overly complicated and for large sites. So I prefer small mods etc to existing forums, like Tiny portal with SMF.
  12. hmm, I'm not sure if linking to these sites are allowed in here, that is why I didn't before. It is a sensitive issue
  13. zone alarm is THE most crappiest piece of software you can ever use. together with the illusion of being the easiest to use, it gives you the least protection and conflicts with a plethora of other programs.Old versions of Kerio were some of the best ever created. I didn't like the newer versions so I switched over to Tiny. Outpost firewall also seems pretty good, but was very resource hungry back when I used it. I may try it again to see if they have fixed that.
  14. Well Firefox is quickly becoming very popular and thats for a good reason. I don't see the mozilla foundation continuing the suite for much longer. Firefox + Thunderbird is all you need.
  15. I got a Tungsten T a few months ago, actually its a prototype for Tungsten T, so I got it off eBay for 100 bucks, the thing kicks major...Color screen, mp3 playback, it is just awesome, I'm so glad I got it. It rendered the MD player I got a while back completely useless so I gave it to my brother, funny thing is, I think that was more expensive!Anyway, some good programs:Agendus, the ultimate agenda.AvantGo, yup, browse the net!Graffiti Anywhere, use your whole screen as a grafitti areaPocket Tunes: the best audio player for palmMplayer: play divx on palm!
  16. I crossed over to the US to visit my friend over at Chicago last week, we also went to the Chicago Auto Show. Was pretty good, I wonder how the one in Toronto is...

    Pentium Vs Amd

You say Pentium vs AMD, but you don't say a specific version of AMD, AthlonXP, Duron, Athlon64, FX...There are a lot of threads about the same topic, you may want to search through them.
  18. gee, it could be virtually everything. I'm not sure what you actually want to do and what you actually want though. If you want topics for the seminar, I can give you a whole list, like:64bit CPUsUse of Shaders in GPUsComparison of RAM technologies (Dynamic vs static)etc...
  19. For my laptop I have a Logitech MX500 and for my PC back home I have a Logitech MX700. Great mice!
  20. Trillian 3 Pro kicks some serious...it replaced my messenger needs for a while now, includes Webcamming with MSN which I frequently use as well. There is nothing better.
  21. hmm, why didN't you tell yours?I have a 64MB ATI Mobility 9600 on my laptop.Back at home, what is now my brothers computer had a GeForce 4 MX 440, but lucky me, I bought a friends GeForce 4 TI 4200.My old laptop had an ATI Mobility M6 I think which was pretty much useless.
  22. meh, 10 never came out for the PC, otherwise I would have had a go at it. All these developers going after profits these days. Otherwise, I liked 8.
  23. meh Ward is not in there, hes my fav.Laguna is pretty cool too.I finished the game for the third time yesterday, lets see when I will start again. It usually takes me a year or two in between.
