  1. This will seem weird but please let me explain my reasoning. My favourite day of the week is Wednesday. This is because you are over the main part of the week and are on the downhill slope to the weekend. I also have ICT on Wednesday On Friday I just start to think of going back to school on Monday. Yes, I am pessimistic!
  2. It depends on the shipping company as to how much the shipping charges are. Some charge by size, some by weight and some by the value of what is being transported. Most do the price by weight, although in set bands, eg 0 - 100g, 101 - 250g ... Speak to the business owners to see which company they use and what they charge at the moment for shipping and handling.
  3. This could be a very long list, but the programs I use frequently are:Windows XP Home SP1FirefoxWindows Media PlayerNorton Antivirus and Firewall 2004The Sims 2Paint Shop Pro 9Age Of MythologyJust Browse (Friend's Web Browser)Microsoft Office SuitePHP Designer 2005They are my top 10 most used programs, but in no particular order. Paint Shop Pro will be replaced with Creative Suite 2 soon
  4. I think it was when I was 8, me and my brother were playing tag when he thought it would be clever to wrap a hosepipe around my feet and pull it as hard as he possibly could. I fell flat on my face, with my left eye going straight on to the corner of a brick. I was rushed to casualty and spent 6 hours there with concussion. I have also done many other stupid things without the need of help from annoying family members, but that was the only thing I've had to go to hospital for, and I hope its the last thing too!
  5. That is a great sig cmatcmextra. The lightning animation looks very realistic and effective. I agree with eXtreme that your name blends in too much with the background. I also think that a border would look good, but thats just my opinion. Good work and I look forward to more in the future
  6. I am amazed how quickly Freddie (evilguru) managed to do this. I only told him on Thursday during an ICT class! With his permission I will try to post a copy of the source code on my Xisto space (if it gets approved) along with full instructions.
  7. This is a great breakthrough if it is possible. I am sure some people would be slightly concerned about having a computer chip implanted in their spine.
  8. Microsoft has stolen someone else's idea again. Sony's PS2 stands on its end, which is a good space saving idea, so Microsoft goes and steals it!!! I agree with TimothyA that the PS3 is better and more people will buy it. I have tried wireless controllers before and they can get interrupted by the simplest of things such as a telephone or TV remote in the next room.
  9. This is a great idea. I currently only have Paint Shop Pro but I hope to buy CS2 soon. I do all sorts of image editing purely as a hobby and I think it's great that you can make money out of doing something you enjoy, with no limitations to imagination etc. This is great information, thank you very much.
  10. Adding copyright protection is a good idea, but will any developers bother to put a special bit of Microsoft code into their files just to send them, when they can send them legally on BitTorrent, Limewire etc. People will find a way around it anyway. As osknockout and Florisjuh said, no-one will use it unless it is bundled with Windows, which Microsoft has already been penalised for.
  11. That looks great. Well done for coding the whole thing. I have one suggestion, and that is to offer a selection of themes. Just a thought.
  12. Just asking some friends and it seems that PHPJunkYard's Guestbook is quite popular and reliable. It also doesn't need a database so is simple to set up.
  13. I have upgraded to FF1.0.4 and it is great. Haven't found any bugs yet and I would advise everyone, even if they swear by IE, to at least try FireFox and remove it if you hate it, which is unlikely! for more information and the download.
  14. I agree that using paper and a pen is an awful lot easier than trying to get a PDA to work! Plus, there are no expensive upgrades to your Hipster and no expensive software. Plus, whoch would someone try to steal? A PDA worth ?200+ or a pad of paper and a pen?
  15. Another suprisingly simple tehnique is to name databases and tables with random names. For example people often look for a database called forum or phpbb etc. to inject a phpBB forum. If you use weird names it can be a last line of defence if they get through the script.
  16. I haven't downloaded Microsoft's Anti Spyware program for two reasons: 1) I don't trust Microsoft to block unused ports etc and 2) I have Norton 2004 and it is fine. I believe that what you are saying may well be true. Microsoft is trying to create a version of every piece of software on the market. The only thing they lack is image editing software. Next month a "security update" will come out rendering all other antivirus software useless and incompatible with Windows, and everyone will go out any buy Microsoft Anti Spyware and Antivirus for... ?75? Or Microsoft could keep it free... there's always a first.
  17. I have just downloaded the latest version of FireFox, and downloaded Thinderbird along with it, although I haven't had the chance to try it.
  18. I agree that the Xisto logo would look good on that blank area on the left. The text does need to be bigger as it is a little unreadable at the moment. Also, the oval in the bottom left hand corner is also a little hard to work out. Mainly just play around with fonts.
  19. Often if you want to customise a JavaScript game, the best way is to simply change the graphics used. For example, a Tetris game uses a background and numerous block images. As long as you keep the new images at the same dimentions as the old ones, and the same names, then it should work.

    Bit Torrent?

I feel I must warn you OhMyBosh that a large proportion of downloads available via BitTorrent are illegal and breach numerous copyright laws. Always search for what you are downloading in a search engine, and if it would usually cost money (e.g. most software) then don't download it. There is something called the Creative Commons Licence which can be applied to software, music or anything else and is usually represented by adding (CC) to the end of a filename. Downloading these files is legal, and many can be found at Just be careful what you download or you could end up in serious trouble.
  21. I also think some BIOS versions have a setting for Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock on boot up, especially on laptops. Although I would not advise accessing the BIOS to any unexperienced users as you may render your computer unusable.
  22. And you own a pet pit bull
  23. If I had $1 billion I would first buy myself some land, not a house. I could then design the house of my dreams I would also have to buy a new car. Leaving these 'normal' purchases I would donate some of the money to charity, but put most of it in a high interest account and save for my retirement, even if it is way off in the future. At least I would have something to pass on. I would keep working, regardless of how much money I got as I would just get bored lazing around that house I just had built!
