  1. When you smile you get a dimple ... I can't think of any more ...
  2. That seems like a very good idea, and very cheap to make. It's fast approaching Summer and predicted temperatures of over 20 degrees (hot for Britain, lol) so I may as well give it a go if I get time. Thanks for the link
  3. That does sound like a very good idea, but I have never seen anyone able to access a GMail account as a webpage before. Unfortunately I do not have time to complete this task but it would be interesting to see how people achieve this. Good luck to anyone attempting this!
  4. I think that, as your motherboard has no game port, you may not have the required drivers in the first place. I have never seen this used specifically for game ports, but installing drivers has helped in similar problems. Also check Belkin's website to see if anyone else has had the problem and if drivers / updates are available.
  5. I think this is a good idea if you are at college or university and need to take notes, where a tablet PC is good, and type up work, where a keyboard comes in handy. It does, however, look slightly flimsy and I think the screen will not last very long if it is continually being twisted around. It is a nice idea and after years of development will probably become a standard feature of all laptops.
  6. That website does look vey good, however you have chosen a default theme which does make your site look slightly un-professional and slightly 'normal'. Publisher is still a good way to make a website without HTML though. Well done.
  7. This does look like a very interesting service. I was about to start creating a site and apply for hosting, but I think I'll leave that for the moment! Thanks very much for this resource.
  8. I agree that Publisher can be useful but I still think, for professional sites, that Dreamweaver or FrontPage is the best option. The problem with programs that don't show you the world of HTML and coding is that you never learn how a site works, so can only make basic sites using Publisher. FrontPage and Dreamweaver each offer screens where you can edit a site without HTML, similar to a word processor setup. However, whatever you are happy with, you stick with it. It will be interesting to compare a site made in Publisher with a site made in FrontPage or Dreamweaver.
  9. I preseume you are referring to the 'haze' created by a flame? You can sometimes see it on roads on hot days. As the article states "super-heated hydrogen peroxide steam" you would certainly see the haze. The guy would also never get clearance to fly over central London! This wasn't even on the local news or local papers. The article also states the image is "a handout photograph". So who was the other guy taking the photo? If he is level with Mr Scott on the jetpack, then why are the houses at an angle, suggesting the camera is angled, yet Mr Scott is perfectly level? It just seems weird, like the theories about the moon landing...
  10. I think the best MS OS is Windows 2000, as it is far more stable and faster than Windows XP. I would also like to put forward a vote for Microsoft Bob OS. It spawned the little characters in MS Office (including 'The Paperclip') and was incredibly user friendly. It also made Microsoft wake up to the fact that not everything they released would be an instant hit. Also, there were very few security bugs of any kind and it was very stable.
  11. I was involved in a very lengthy discussion a few days ago on the subject of abortion and whether or not it is morally right. In my personal opinion I think that abortions should not be carried out unless there is a risk to the mother's health, if the mother has become pregnant from the result of rape or if the child will not be able to lead a 'normal' and happy life with the family, although in this case, adoption is an option, especially to a family where the possibility of having a child is impossible. I am not religious and these are my personal views. As soon as the egg has split into two it is technically 'alive' as the cell is active and doing something. Therefore any abortion is technically the killing of something which is alive, even if it comprises of only a few cells. However, in all logic in the 'real world' it is impossible to ban abortions or make them illegal for the simple fact that women will start to go to 'back street' surgeries and receive operations from either unqualified or struck-off doctors, risking the health of the mother and baby ever further. In a eutopia abortions wouldn't happen, but in all practicality it is impossible to ban abortions.
  12. I gave away 50 invites on Monday evening, and had another 50 by Wednesday morning. I gave those away on Wednesday and got another 50 this morning. If you want one then PM me your address and I'll send you one. They do seem to be replenishing quicker as Google completes more beta tests and the system becomes more stable.
  13. If you have to download the MSN toolbar for the tabs, then I'll still use FireFox for tabbed browsing. Microsoft didn't want to implement this feature but they had to to get FF users to use IE. I try and avoid using any extra toolbars in IE, especially from Microsoft, as they generally open up security loopholes.
  14. My favourite is the Zen Micro and the others in the Xen 'series' I just like their look much more than the iPod.
  15. There is no way to get that marquee to load information from a forum though, is there? I never know you could make a marquee scroll upwards!
  16. I am agnostic, as I can see arguements for and against the existance of an all powerfull being of some sort, but I do not think religion needs a huge overhaul. There are some things that maybe could be changed and modernised, but nothing drastic needs to happen. Is it not the basis of numerous religions that people of all ages, genders and backgrounds should be treated equally? With a homosexual bishop in Britain, it is high time that women were allowed to become priests.
  17. You will need to edit the config.php file. It is very simple editing so don't worry if you don't know any PHP. Firstly, on line 60, change 'dragonfly' to the name of the database you would like to use. You have to create this before installing, using PHPMyAdmin. Then change lines 68 and 75 to have your mySql username and password. So you now have: Line 60: $dbname = 'yourdatabase';Line 68: $dbuname = 'your_database_username';Line 75: $dbpass = 'your_database_password'; Upload this to the public_html directory then try running install.php Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.
  18. When you say you have installed it, do you mean uploaded all the files or actually run the install.php page?It would also be helpful if you could provide us with the address of your site.
  19. Thats an exceptional design, however I have noticed that the nav menu and the login box have no left/right borders respectively. To me this just looks weird, but if you meant to do it then fine, go ahead. Very good design and I look forward to the rest of the site.
  20. That does look quite effective. I'll have a go at that later.
  21. I also use a lot of freeware programsn as many do just as well as paid versions from leading software companies. It may take a little time to find what you are looking for, but its worth it in the end!
  22. I actually use Paint Shop Pro for most of my editing work, which is why it is rubbish compared to most of yours. I just can't afford a copy of Photoshop
  23. I only suggested it as the forums marquee was mentioned. You could also use frames if you don't have time to learn/do it in PHP.
  24. You can't just use the navigation. It is like a template for a site. It has a forum, a downloads section etc that you can use. You just upload the public_html to your site.
  25. The flames in 3 look great. I also like No. 9, nice choice of colours. Good set of sigs, you're certainly better at this then I am!
