  1. That's true. It's all right what you say. Good little speech there. I'd just like somebody to point out just one instance in history, of the paranormal actually being proven beyond any doubt to be 'paranormal'. You won't find one. Most of it is always unexplained, or given a more likely practical cause. Religious documentation such as the bible shouldn't count though. Then it becomes more a question of 'faith', rather than a discussion of the paranormal. Just my opinion.
  2. I'm skeptical about all this paranormal talk.I don't mean to sound negative, but it appears thatthese paranormal activities only seem to happen topeople who want them to happen. All can be explained as well. The stories of noises in the attic were probably just a bird thathad gained entry or a mouse. Also, this person hearing somebody whisper something to them, when nobody was there, was probably just day dreaming. Why do people so badly want to believe in the super natural?.They want excitement, that's why.If you take a nickel and drop it, it will always fall down, never up.The laws of nature such as gravity,electro-magnetic activity, mass and light are never broken, despite what some peopletry and tell us.Those who truly believe in paranormal activity would alsobe susceptible to buying swamp land in Florida, the way I see it.
  3. I think the causes of this are natural. I doubt if it's related topollutants of any kind or space aliens. If it stays there, then itwill certainly be a great thing for Moscow's tourist industry. It would be one of the seven wonders of the world.
  4. What also effects economic recovery is having an economy that is strong at thecore so that the recovery is that much easier.Currently in North America, our economy is no longer manufacturing based. Why?Because we outsourced all of that to other countries. We no longer have the control at the local levelanymore, let alone National level. I also agree with another view put forwardon this thread. It's depressing meeting a 'Senior software engineer' whocouldn't write a line of code if his life depended on it.It seems to happen way too often. The idiots are running things.
  5. I've been with Xisto for nearly a year and would rate it 10 out of 10.The mycents updates always get resolved anyway.A lot of things can go wrong on a server, and if some thingstake a little bit longer time, that's just life.
  6. I think everything you buy you have to worry about really. They all have additives, even vegetables have been sprayedwith something. The only safe bet is to grow you're own, which isn't very easy to do.We are living in difficult times.
  7. I was thinking that when people have dreams that they don't like, thatchanging their routine might help in stopping these dreams. For example, moving the furniture in the bedroom might help.Maybe even sleeping in a different room.Perhaps even diet might have something to do with it.Maybe playing light classical music or something in thebackground when you sleep might help.I'm not a big fan of dreams either. It's like you are forced towatch a movie in the middle of your sleep.
  8. Best metal band of therm all is without a doubt, Motorhead!
  9. It wouldn't happen in the big league of b.s Hollwood.Theres is just too much to know, outside of just seeing 100 movies. One would have to know about camera angles, and such relevant technical details, and business details. That's why they only choose a director from the inside. There could be exceptions I guess.
  10. My favorite t.v program? A far as comedy goesprobably old ones like "Lost in Space","The Munsters", and "The Adams family". I also like the original "Twilight zone" with Rod Sterling. That has to be one of the greatest shows ever.Oh yes, I almost forgot, "Monty Python's flying circus".
  11. I would of thought that some first world cities would be immediatelyat risk. Places such as Los Angeles, Vancouver and Amsterdam.Regardless, all the climate change news is disturbing. How to change things isn't easy though.
  12. Self publishing is one thing, but there is so much that it involves. If you published 1000 copies then I'd assume that you're distribution network would be small. You would have to approachcertain outlets to carry and sell your book.Hopefully the big chains would carry it. There would also be marketing of the book to consider.Advertising in newspapers and magazines would be expensive. You could try giving interviews to radio stations. It sounds like a lot of work. Good luck!
  13. As far as recording software goes, I use Krystal software and Audacity ona windows xp operating system. All my recording is done 'live' and I don't use samples at all. As far as editing and vst effects go, Krystal and Audacity are both quite functional.Of course I've heard of pro tools, but you can't argue with the price ofthe software I'm using. As far as the mac goes, I've heard some amazing recordings done using garageband, which the mac comes with.I've learned, never trust an audio freak for what sounds goodfidelity wise. Instead, ask the average person who just likes listening to musicrather than deciphering audio signals.
  14. If things such as Snooker and golf are considered sports then I think chess shouldbe considered a sport too. If chess is considered a sport, then why not checkers, and then snakes and ladders? It's all relative. I guess how much t.v viewership any one game can getdetermines if it's a sport.lol. If it's on espn then it's considered a sport.I mean, they even have these things on t.v sometimes wherechopping down a tree is considered a sport. The dictionary defines sports as a physical activity defined by a set of rules. That seems to cover a lot of ground. It could boggle the mindas far as what is and what isn't a 'sport'.
  15. Eating one meal a day can't be good at all. That means that you're goingabout 24 hours without out food each day really. It's almost likeyou are fasting each and every day. That has to be unhealthy. When I was a student, many of us could only eat once a day though.I imagine it's still very much the same. I'd eat fruit such as bananas and oranges outside of your one meal a day. Maybe take multi-vitamins as welll.See if you could also add a light snack of some kind of nutritiousoatmeal cookies or something.
  16. Often people are credited with great things though simply because the public heard about something through them first, and not that the work in question is actually 'great' anyway.I wonder how he could of really been so influential on the English language. There was no mass media in the middle ages. Then again, very few people would of had the chance to havebeen published in them days anyway.Maybe Chaucer is considered great and influential by default.I can see why you find Chaucer to be Gibberish. Many people are credited with great things when they aren't. Michael Jackson being a more modern example.
  17. I'm using windows xp. It seems hard finding these 56k dial up modems.I once tried asking about one in a future shop, and they said they didn't have any.
  18. HelloI know this is a doofus question, but I was wondering, if I wereto switch to using dial up internet, would I have to use an exteriormodem? Wouldn't my Intel/pro 100 VE network connection adapter suffice? Thanks
  19. I took typing in College and just passed with the minimum required words per minutequota.I've forgotten all the typing technique I learned and I'm really just a onefinger typist these days, although an extremely quick one, probably becauseI have always had really quick reflexes. No, I probably wouldn't be the one to ask for typing lessons.
  20. I played it a little bit when I was a kid. It is definitely funand is good exercise. It's not easy winning either. Those little birdie things can also get expensive can't they? All the feathers get bashed about and you have to use a new one. It's waybetter than using the plastic ones though. One could perhaps say that badminton is like outdoor table tennis, orperhaps the missing link between real tennis and table tennis. You won a scholarship from badminton? That's alright.
  21. That is true. The more friends you have the less time you have to yourselfand the more compromises you have to make really. What makes it easier having a lot of friends is if you are interestedin a lot of things and have a lot of hobbies. For example, some of your friends will share you're interests in sports, others won't. Other friends will play a musical instrument and you canhang out with them and jam while others don't.You can have friends for specific purposes. You might call them 'utility friends', but they are friends still.
  22. I stopped using Internet Explorer so long ago it isn't funny. It is a virus trap as well as prone to crashing constantly. While Firefox is not perfect, it is certainly better than InternetExplorer. I don't know why Microsoft doesn't just bundle it(Firefox) with theirnew operating systems or just build an entirely new browser from scratch.
  23. I guess you must have read that article in some tabloid. It's completely untrue of course. If there is a hell,it won't be on earth and as somebody else already stated, hell is also in our minds. You can go on reading stuff like this in the tabloids, none of which is true.
  24. As long as there is poverty and economic inequality therewill be a need for socialism, which doesn't have anything to do with communism at all. Some essential services and and basic needs must be centralized toa degree so society can function in a civil and orderly way. I can't think of a better example than health care. Some basic free kind of health care system for the poor is essential. To control this , it must be centralized. Leave the privatizationfor those who want botox and hair transplants andOf course, allow the rich the right to buy their own specialized meds. Never tell anybody to just eat cake though, as Marie Antoinette said. Then we'll have a revolution alright.
  25. I wouldn't worry about your email being hacked, if you take thenecessary precautions. Never save your email account password, or for that matter, any important account password anywhere on your computer. Try to keep all your important passwords in memory. I guess second of all, try to avoid making enemies of anyone who wouldtry to hack your account. I guess theres always bot viruses of some kind, butI've yet to hear of them regarding hacking email accounts.
