  1. Well, there are different views on the afterlife - including reincarnation, depending on the religion. I don't know if all the stories would be true or not, but I like the reincarnation one, though.
  2. I like the devil and penguin one, although I kinda like the Elmer "Wun you wascaw wabbit!" Fudd version of Google. Where did you find those?
  3. When it comes to a series of books/movies, I usually prefer to start at the very beginning - where the characters are introduced and background of the story is established. For example, The Hobbit - one of the finest adventure stories I have ever read - can stand on its own merit, yet it is also an effective "prequel" to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which fleshes out more of the background story while introducing several new characters.
  4. Welcome aboard, Hakkera/Eddy! Seems you're already busy posting away on several subforums, so you'll have those hosting credits in no time. I think you've found a great community here, as the people are very supportive and can help you if you have a problem. See you on the boards!
  5. Thanks for the tip - it'll be useful for me since I use Firefox most of the time. I don't have any complaints about the default Gmail mailbox skin, but just in case it needs a fresh look, I'll know where to turn to.
  6. I like both IE and Firefox, although I'll lean more towards Firefox because you can customize it, it's open source and it's very secure. On top of that, I found that it can load many of the websites that I frequent much more quickly than IE.
  7. Welcome to the community! I'm sure you'll have no problem building up the hosting credits, as there are many topics and threads in this forum that will suit your interests. If you have any problems, many of the people here are supportive and would be willing to help you. Hope you visit often and post as much as you like. See you on the boards!
  8. Among the better FTP programs out there is FileZilla. If you are looking for a simple no-frills type of program, try FTP Commander.
  9. Gmail has been a reliable service for my work-related/job search e-mails, but the problem I encountered was that I wasn't able to access it at the workplace...perhaps because of the firewall settings. In any event, I've already set up a personal account as well and I still have 50 invites left.
  10. Welcome aboard, Frozen. We always have room for more designers in the Xisto community. Hope you enjoy your stay and visit as often as you like.Everyone here is really supportive, and if you have any questions/comments, feel free to ask!See you on the boards!Cheers!
  11. Welcome to the community! I'm sure you'll have no problem getting the hosting credits required for the hosting service. Depending on how much you take part on the forums, you could even get to the point where you don't have to think about how many days how have to be inactive to keep the hosting account alive. Anyway, if you have any problems, there are lots of people here who can help you out! So...hope you enjoy your stay and I'll see you on the boards!
  12. I agree with hype. 30 is a fairly safe figure in case something happens. I'm always trying to build my credits little by little. There may be some days when I won't be able to post, but I can bring the credits back up after I return to the boards.

    Whats Up!?!

Welcome aboard! You've certainly come to the right place, as there are lots of topics and threads on the forums to keep you active and build up the hosting credits quickly. The people here are great and very helpful. Just remember to check out the rules for a bit before you post. Aside from that, have fun and we'll see more of you on the boards!
  14. Learning the basics of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is a good start for you to become familiar with some of the code. Of course, a book on how to design web pages makes for a solid reference. The next step you may want to try is CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), as this can give your website more consistency from page to page - from background colours to the font styles and more. After that, try diving into some Javascript and/or PHP if you want to make your pages dynamic.
  15. Hey there. Sorry if I didn't present my website earlier...but I'd like you to check out the new Evan in Japan. The website is powered by WordPress and it looks a lot cleaner and simpler than the first (and outdated) version of my website. There are a few more things that need tweaking, so it's still not complete. In the meantime, take a look at it and give me some feeback. Cheers!
  16. Welcome aboard, revolutionary! Don't worry if you don't have much to say in your self-intro. I believe you found a great community and the people here are really helpful. I'm sure you'll find lots of topics and threads you can comment on (if you haven't already). Hope you can visit often and take part as much as you like. It's relly not that difficult to build up and maintain the hosting credits.See you on the boards!
  17. I use ADSL and Firefox, but I've been experiencing long loading times as well. I wonder if the problem is at Xisto's server(s) or perhaps my own computer is getting slow?
  18. I've played by the rules and posted whenever I can since I became a member (almost four months ago). I do have a question about the warning system, though. I was wondering if a warning can be taken away, provided I haven't made any violations on forums since I received the warning. I accidentally started a thread in the wrong category and got a mild warning (10%) in return. Will that go back down to 0% if I behave myself in the next 30 days or so?
  19. The worst phone I ever bought was made by Nortel - that phone was like a brick! Then again, I purchased it in 1997 (it was my first cel phone) and cel phones have come a long way since then - decreasing in size and having more features along the way. I think that first cel phone now makes a good paperweight...and nothing else.

    Howdy

Welcome to the Xisto community! It doesn't matter whether you did a Google search or otherwise, you've found a great place with a great community and free hosting to boot! Hope you enjoy your time here and post often. See you on the forums!
  21. I get angry from time to time, and it often comes from frustration and/or stress, that things are not wroking out like I want them to. Usually I either talk it out with a friend or go outside and do exercise. Either way, it prevents my anger from building up inside (and eventually explode like a volcano).

    Hi

Welcome to the community. I think you'll find many topics and threads you can comment on - and even start a few new ones, too! Trap 17 has a great hosting service as long as you come back and keep yourself active on the forums. See you later!
  23. I like what Google has to offer already - Picasa, Earth, Gmail, the search engine...the list goes on and on. Some people here mentioned that a Google web hosting service would a good idea. That would be great if that happened...anything can happen, you know.
  24. Wow! That's quite a lot of programs running there. How's your PC's memory holding out? I know for sure if I had THAT many programs running. My computer would be runnng slower than molasses in cold weather.
  25. I like the Nokia models, but that's just me. Sony Ericsson phones are advertised heavily in Japan, but I7 don't knoe if they're that good. Aside from that, a lot of the new Vodaphone models in Japan are made by Sharp and Toshiba. I take it they're solid names on the Japanese market. Don't know about in other countries, though.
