  1. I know there have been multiple topics on how to accelerate various web browsers (mainly Mozilla Firefox) and I was wondering if there were any alterations that could be made to the Mac's Safari browser that would accelerate web browsing. Thanks for your help.
  2. Thanks for the link to their forum. Hopefully I'll get a response soon. As for my skin and theme, I use WindowBlinds and the skin name is "Cardinal Skin" created by: Lasse Salling (Pixel Pirate). If you meant the desktop background, I got that wallpaper from http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/. They have a lot of neat wallpapers there.
  3. Hey, guys. I recently received Civilization IV as a gift. Yesterday, I tried to install the game and ran into a problem. The game comes as a two disc set and both discs are necessary for the installation process. Well, I put in the first CD and followed the steps properly. Halfway through the installation it told me to replace CD 1 with the second CD. I did this and it continued to install. Right before the installation completed, I received an error from the game. I received the following: (click thumbnail) Can anyone tell me what this means? Has anyone else perhaps experienced something similar? Thanks for your help.
  4. Just when you responded I found this: Article URL: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I'm lucky I found this article for a couple reasons. The first is that the article says that simply copy and pasting from one hard drive to the other may not be sufficient, because of the data in the registries that may not transfer fully. The second reason why I'm lucky is because I actually have the program that they talk about in the article, Alohabob PC Relocator. I think it's intended to transfer information from computer to computer, but my guess is that it can also go from hard drive to hard drive. I'm going to play around and see what happens. Thank you for your quick response, Michael. I'll tell you how things turn out.
  5. Hey, guys. Well, I have read various articles here and elsewhere about how equally distributing the contents of your computer to multiple hard drives can enhance its performance. As I was installing a new game to my computer, I figured that it might be a good to start transferring my data. My first hard drive (C: Drive) is 229 GB with 171 GB of free space on it. My second hard drive (D: Drive) is 465 GB - all of it is free. I was thinking that perhaps it would be best to put all of my games on one hard drive and my other programs on the second. Also, I thought it'd be better to put all of my games on the smaller drive, because I can only run one at a time anyways while I should put the rest of my programs on the larger one so that I can run multiple programs more efficiently. I was just curious as to your opinions as to how this will lay out, if you think it's the best distribution of my programs or not. My second order of business is how to transfer all of my programs and games safely to the other hard drive. Is there a special program that can do this for me? Or is there a manual method? If anyone knows please tell me. Thank you for all your help.
  6. How much older is the girl? If there isn't a very large age gap and you both are already friends then you probably have a much greater chance than you think. Just try to be pleasant around her. It's hard to say exactly what to do because every girl is different and enjoys different things. That is probably the most important advice that I can give to you, that every girl is different and should be treated as such. If she realizes that she is special to you then she may be more willing to try a relationship with you.
  7. Hey, I was looking around on MySpace to see if they had a particular song with a player that you see on many different MySpaces, but they did not have one for the song I wanted. I was wondering if anyone had the proper code for a music player. I do have the song I want and have the capability to upload it, but I just need the code for it. If you can help at all I'd really appreciate it. Example on the top right of this MySpace (but I just want a one song player): https://myspace.com/browser
  8. I think the design is really awesome. Looks nice and easy to use. Everything seems to work so well. As for a color scheme problem or something that isn't matching, the only possible problem that I see would be the green and yellow of the rainbow, because this is the only instance of those two colors. To fix it you could put green and yellow elsewhere on the site or replace the colors; for example, you could use a light blue (I know it'd be a lot) on one of the rays and some other color for the second. Otherwise, excellent job.
  9. Oh, gotcha. The gradient bar doesn't allow you to go straight from red to blue without a blend/tranisition? I think you might be able to do that; that way you won't need the white middle-ground but you also won't have the purple blend in the center. Give it a try, might work.
  10. It looks really neat. The busy background certainly goes with the theme of an action packed game (or simulator). I think the only element that bothers me is how the white line of the gradient goes right over the second wrestler's face and it makes it a little harder to see. I understand that the line falls that way because of the angle but perhaps you could decrease the opacity of the gradient or at least that white part. Nice image.
  11. Just out of curiousity how did you guys like the main theme songs for Civilization IV? I want to be able to give feedback to the guys who did it. If you're confused about which songs, I'm referring to "Baba Yetu" and the coronation song called "Coronation" .
  12. Alright, I'll start from the top. anarchyboard88, you make a valid point that Mr. Bush's approval rating is at an all-time low of 37% and you provided an excellent source for that fact. I do feel that you perhaps failed to read the rest of the article where it lists various ratings for past presidents. As you may notice, Mr. Bush's rating is equal to that of President Clinton's rating. Now, I am not using this as reason to refute anything you have said as these are just opinion polls of each president and in no way reflect my own opinions of them (or your own). I am simply allowing others to see the different approval ratings for other presidents as well. As for America having already accomplished its goals in Iraq, I do not agree. I understand that it's open to interpretation of what you felt our goals were, but my understanding was that we would not leave until the Iraqi government was well-established and stable. I feel that we are close to accomplishing this, but we have not yet achieved it. Weapons of mass destruction - Perhaps you do not realize this but while Saddam Hussein was in power, he attacked the Shiite people with various chemical and biological weapons (weapons of mass destruction). There is proof of this in both the areas in Iraq devastated by the weapons and in the caracasses of the murdered. So there certainly were weapons of mass destruction used by Hussein. Here is a definition of 'weapons of mass destruction' - DEFINITION. If you want a different source, just say so. As for America's debt, I fear you have a poor perception. Perhaps you preferred the excellent economy under Clinton? But maybe you do not realize that it was only such because of the tax reforms initiated under Reagan's presidency. What many people don't seem to grasp is that economic reforms and changes require time to take effect. The good economy under Clinton was simply the result of Reagan's changes. The reason why the economy was poor when President Bush entered office was because of the legislature passed under Clinton's term. If you have not noticed, the economy has been improving during recent months, results of Bush's first term. ongnoai, your comment about "political dynasties" being bred was somewhat silly. "You should try asking to Yale how many more of his like they still have in store." Do you not realize that Kerry too attended Yale University? Now if you support neither candidate then I stand corrected, but if you do/did support Kerry, well then you have insulted your own candidate. DreamCore, your comment is just a heaping bale of ignorance. "America was going to be an peace countery before Bush came, but then when Bush came then first started the terrorist being angry at him and then the peapole booth on the president and on the terorists. Trorist crashed two planes in World Trade Center and made it to collapse." From what you wrote, I understand that you blame Bush for the terrorist attacks and for the lack of peace in America. Well, I could go into the history of how the Taliban were left to dry during the Cold War by America in our attempts to prevent the Soviet Union's spread into Afghanistan, but I will save you this enlightment because as it seems you enjoy your ignorance. However, just to provide an example, if you did not already know, there were terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center during Clinton's term too. Now, is he to blame for these attacks? Or perhaps it was George W. Bush's fault again? To make sure you do not actually think either of these to be true I will tell you. The attacks weren't Bush's fault and they weren't Clinton's fault either, I'm sure any knowledgeable person can at least agree on that. Please do not see my references to other posters or their posts as attempts to bash, I was simply using their comments as a guideline for discussion - topics that I felt needed representation from perhaps another angle. I encourage everyone to post their ideas; I would like to see what people think.
  13. Well, she's either very persistent or maybe she doesn't really like you and that's why telling her that you did have other "interests" didn't really phase her. I am not sure how things are with the girl that you like, but if actually taking action (as in asking her out) is an option, then that might give this pestering girl a stronger hint that you don't like her and that you don't care for her attention. My personal reaction would not be to block her out, but to maybe be her friend. It seems that she's interested in at least being your friend and it never hurts to have another friend. Now of course if she's annoying or something of the sort it's not always good, but obviously if she does seem like a nice person then there's no reason not to be her friend. You never know, she might even be able to help you get the girl you like to like you back...
  14. I agree with what most people are saying. Let the girl take action, if she truly desires to be with you more than her current boyfriend, she will break up with him or end things with him, whatever. Two out of my three relationships have been somewhat like this. In one relationship she had a boyfriend, but she wasn't satisfied with him and broke up with him soon after finding out that I liked her (she apparently also had feelings for me). As for my third and current relationship, it is a bit more confusing. There was this guy that was under the impression that he and my girlfriend (now) were dating, just because they had hung out or something like that. He had never formally asked her out and they had never actually gone on a "date" so she said that they were not dating. Well, eventually the guy found out me and my girlfriend had a "thing" going on and became angry. Well, whatever, as it turns out she didn't even like him so I asked her out and there you have it. He became very sore... and probably still is but he at least became more reasonable. I actually think this was a more volatile situation than my first relationship (come to think of it the guy in that situation didn't really even care). But anyways, lesson of the story: make sure she's aware that you like her and make sure she likes you. If she likes you more and values your companionship, she will end whatever relations she currently has to be with you. Be patient, sometimes these things just take time. But in no way coax her to do it or start spreading rumors or lies. That in fact will probably make your already touchy situation worse. But the best of luck to you, I'm sure things will turn out well.
  15. There are so many possibilities with money like that. I think that I would try to invest a good amount of it in stocks that so it can be passed on to my children and grandchildren; if I'm really lucky I might end up with even more than I started with. I would also spend more time at home with my wife and kids (assuming that I have both). I would also make sure to still go to college and get all the necessaries, just in case. You never know when something awful will happen. But otherwise, I'm sure having this much money would be amazing.Recently at some football game, a war veteran apparently won one million dollars for being able to throw a football through a small target (about pizza sized) from 25 yards away. That's pretty amazing - especially for someone that does not play football. He too is still deciding what to do with the money, but he says he will probably continue working. I'll see if I can dig up the article.
