  1. Oh, I'm in the same situation. I've just noticed this. Fo tunately I haven't had any problem yet but I'm going to change my password right now just in case...
  2. t seemt that pyramids will always be a mystery and perhaps it should be this way. I mean, human race need some mysteries just to feel that one day they could be solved (real or not). It would be boring if we knew everything about everything... pyramids have always been such a exotic topic. Egyptian culture was so rich and still unknown to us. Aliens seem to be a possibility but who knows, maybe Egyptians were aliens themselves. This could explain that they had such exotic way of life, comparing to other civilizations. And the material of pyramids, being blocks of rock or not, it's still awesome and almost a unreal ingeniery work in ancient times. Awesome anyway.
  3. I didn't know there were people from Vietnam hacking Xisto's accounts. I think I'm going to backup roght now, just in case. The theory that you should use a unique password for each account you have is good, but when you are more or less active in internet, is a difficult thing to do because you tend to confuse passwords and having them written is no good anyway.
  4. I don't like the idea of google making tangible things... they should keep working inside Internet, there are already good enterprises making technologic gadgets and that.
  5. I think that obligations are what keep us in balance when we get addicted to a videogame. I mean, when I was at school, and I got addicted, I just wished all day to arrive home and play play play. But I couldn't... it was physically impossible. I could stay late at night plying but the next day I had to go school again and I as too tired, so I learnt that I couldn't be like that forever. Now I don't play usually but I couldn't because work takes a lot of time. But it can be really dangerous if you're at school break or on holidays.
  6. I don't know if there are specific sites that offer clipart images but you can try searching in flickr, which applies creative commons licenses to some images. And on wikipedia commons too.
  7. I have the highest hopes in phpBB 3 but I don't want to install it since it has a stable version, because I don't want to mess with my forum database or whatever. Let's hope the upgrade from version 3 to 3 won't be difficult. I don't mind much for the graphic aspect but I really hope the new version comes with some anti-spam mechanisms, which in my opinion (spam bots) are the cancer of phpbbs right now and installing mods looks easy but then it's not so easy for everyone. Anyway I hope they keep it light and smart.
  8. Right now I've just noticed that I was negative on credits, because I had my computer out during a week because I had to format and reinstall everything... and I suppose thta I was low in credits specially after holidays. So now I have to make an extra effort, but it's ok for me. It's fair, you give something to the community, the community gives something to you.
  9. I don't know maybe right now there is some kind of low in new users. Maybe people just don't believe anymore in free hosting sites, which is pretty logical, according to some experiences we all have had... I hope there will be a new generation of users that will bring life again to Xisto forums. Sure. Maybe it's still holidays...
  10. I think that's a nice template, but the grey could be lighter I think. And you may need some graphic content besides the blue stripes or otherwise make the colors much lighter overall. And the website tittle looks like it's not so differenced from the news and content titles... too uniformized to my taste. Probably you have to think of some format issues, because for example inside "news", you may want to put first the date in another font/color, etc and the same in content, to separate different texts that are not related. So I think is a good template but you need to develop it a bit before I could give a worthy opinion. It could turn into a cool website or a boring one.
  11. I think there is not much transparency about this. Often, some scientists say this, then say that... you can't trust nobody when we are talking about an industry that moves so much money theses days. Mobile phones are one of the greatest industries so companies have a lot of power... we know that wars begin because money interests are involved, so how could we trust when they say that we must be calm, because there's no risk at all. I don't know exactly how much is the risk, but certainly I don't think mobile phones are good for our health at all. We are attached to them almost 24 hours a day and I think that the slightest radiation must cause harm when it's working continuously. Yes, there are some other devices more risky, like microwave ovens, but we don't stay in front of them for hours and hours. What is a reality is that cancer cases are growing and growing in our societies and our technologic gadgets must be involved to some extent.
  12. Maybe I'm a bit innocent but I can't believe that years pass and web browsers are still so poor when it comes to standards. It's sad that Firefox did it so bad, let's hope version 3 will be better, because some years ago it didn't seem to matter that you made a website complying with standards... because most people used Explorer and you had to make it thinking that most people wasn't able to think by themselves and install another browser different to the one that their awful OS brought.I think there should be some laws because microsoft is harming seriously web design with their infamous browsers... and they don't seem to worry much about it. At least Firefox is trying to improve its compatibility, but the purpose of new explorer versions is only to copy cool features from other browsers... in copying Microsoft are the kings, no doubt.

  15. I think that addiction to video games is a reality and there are some cases of people that don't even go out just to stay the whole day playing. I have friends that live for consoles and there's nothing they like more that spent whole weekends playing videogames, which I think it's not very healthy. Of course it's not an addiction like cigarettes or drugs, because there isn't anything physical inside your organism telling you that you want more. It's a kind of more subtle suggestion like the one in television. There are also lots of people addicted to the tube, aren't they?Anyway I can't blame people for not wanting to deal with reality... this world sucks and probably we all need our own addiction, more or less "damaging".
  16. I think that I entered the cpanel two days ago and it marked 0... but I thought it was just some kind of delay, but I've checked it again right now that I read this post and it's still the same. I don't think there would be any problema as Xisto is generous with the bandwidth but it's true that when some weird thing like this happens some of us fear for the worst to happen. It's a syndrome that every webmaster has, I guess...

    Moving

Sometimes is a lot better to have a place that you feel you own, where you feel free and neighbours don't make noise (and you don't make noise to them), although it's smaller. Hope you find peace and comfort there.
  18. 1. How many beer are you drinking a day?I don't drink it daily. I don't like beer too much. I prefer other alcoholic drinks, but when it comes to cheap alcohol here in Spain we usually drink beer or a mix of wine and coke that we called 'kalimotxo' (or calimocho). But I like to drink beer when I'm not planning to drink too much because it's better for the stomach. So... one every two/three weeks, more often in summer. :XD: 2. How much cost one beer?A glass of a liter, 3-6 euro. A bottle in a bar, changes a lot from one to another and brands. From 1.5 to 4. I don't buy cans normally but they're much cheaper, of course.3. What is your favorite beer ?I don't have any favourite really... Mahou it's ok, San Miguel as well, Heineken (the only one not spanish) it's alright, Cruzcampo is awful (although andalusian people love this, in the north we hate it)... and Coronita (mexican, but very popular here) is good, very soft. Ambar is a really good one, but not so commercial as the rest. Generally I like black beer most.
  19. I've tried a lot of hostings before and while I'm here at Xisto (just because I needed another account and this was before qupis existed). I thought that if Xisto offered such a great service, there must be other good free hostings with at least half the quality. But I found that it's not true. You cannot find anything with php, a decent storage, stable, ftp and what is more important, some feedback. I was unable to find something similar even with ads! So nothing surprise me, no matter it's called perfecthosting, ultimatehosting, definitivehosting... lies, lies, lies. :XD:
  20. Well, this would be fun if it was a movie but it's not. It's terrible by many reason. First one is that the age of 60 is not the most appropiated to make children. Second, what are you going to do with 100 children? In the best case they will grow without knowing what the heck is a father and without experiencing any kind of parental love. But probably some of them will die and the father won't even care and a lot of terrible situations can happen, this guy is totally irresponsible... and 60 year old, what a shame. Poor and also idiot wives... a entire life giving birth just for a silly old man to get famous.Deserves castration, definitely. Chemical... or maybe not.
  21. I think it's a good idea and not damaging at all, because you have two ways of being clever: - One, study everything, do all your homework properly, etc. - The other, try to get some extra help from somebody, something, etc. Yes, the first one is more ethical, but... which one do you consider as more intelligent? Probably the second, because it less time consuming. In the real world almost everybody would choose the second although some people wouldn't tell. In the real world even the best thieves are hired to work on security. You have the example of hackers... so in real life it's better to know how to fake something than to do it. Sad maybe, but definitely true. and if you don't like the second optiopn, simply don't use it.
  22. In a perfect educational system (so maybe an utopia) homework shouldn't be neccessary. If children spend let's say 6 hours in a day outside home, this should be enough to make them achieve the objectives. I mean, we work 8 hours a day and when we get home we don't need to revise what we have done in our jobs so... why should children do? I think that's a matter of the teachers and if there's not enough time then well... we all know that there are LOTS of things that we learn in school that are no use for anything, so it wouldn't be difficult to make some adjustments in school programs. Of course homework helps to get more knowledge but does it really worth it? What's the point on being X hours at school, and then leave to enter home and start doing the same but on your own. Why not then spend an extra hour at school instead? When children finish their school day, thay should play, then rest... let them live a bit while they can and don't have the responsibilities of adulthood.
  23. :XD: When I first read PMS I was thinking the topic was about CMS (Content management system) as I don't know many acronyms in English I'm a boy but I suppose it must be hard to have PMS once a month... but it's not a high price considering that women can give birth. Or like a joke say... men were given beard and women were given PMS, bad luck.
  24. Also as a disadvantage that law isn't generally clear on p2p. It depends on countries but anyway, you have to be cautious if you use them sometimes. And maybe you could mention which p2p contain spyware, related to the security section that shadowx has just suggested.
  25. I hadn't seen this. Looks like a great offer, although a bit risky because it's still in beta and if you want your website to be solid and keep your domain... but is really generous. I already have a domain but it is a great initiative I would try if I weren't so far from 280 credits. :XD: Xisto always surprises me, best free hosting site ever.
