  1. I think that online education is such a great advance for rural or less populated areas, where you have to make real trips to get to a school. And for people with some kind of physical handicaps that can't move easily. For the rest I think gatehering in a school is more healthy, because you develop social skills that sooner or later you'll need in life. Anyway I think a combination of both should be the future. For example in a week you could go one day to the school, speak with your teachers, etc. and the rest of the days at home with your computer, exercises by email, etc. I think this could also be a great formula for online work, you just go periodically to your work place just to keep the relationship and see everything it's ok and then work from home.
  2. Well, girls don't understand boys and boys don't understand girls. I suppose is part of life and part of the mystery of love and relationships. It'smo re funny than dramatic. Anyway we don't understand too much people of the same genre, but I guess that we don't give it so much importance as long as there's no sexual tension... or do you think that gay/lesbian people understand each other better than hetero? mmm... interesting.
  3. I know this is a very basic advice and probably you have already tried, but check the caps lock button... sometimes the smaller things are the annoyest ones.
  4. Probably it would be best for you if you specialized the website on only turkish and farsi music. I suppose there aren't so much websites like this while english music is everywhere. and you know, you always have to offer something different in your website... The website looks really professional, congratulations if it's yours.
  5. This is good information... I didn't even know that pagerank had updated.Anyway your blog doesn't load for me right now.
  6. It's really nice of you to post here your resources, but they are too many, now I don't know which to pick.
  7. I would also like to think that some service like this is completely private but this is impossible. I suppose other popular image hosting services has the same filters and can only be applied by browsing what people uploads. The same with youtube I guess. If you want something private, then buy a hosting (that allows you to host whatever you want) and then share the links from there. If uploading porn you're risking the service, then you shouldn't.
  8. For me a CMS is good only if it's relatively easy to make a site done with it, look like it were not. I mean, that you don't identify at the very first glance you give to the site that is using an especific CMS, Joomla in this case. I always hated CMS because they gave wings to lots of irresponsible webmasters that make sites with no purpose or value. So lots of unncesary ugly sites arose, all with the same prefabricated modules. I don't really know if Joomla is that way, in that case I wouldn't be interested.
  9. I don't use Imagefilez because I don't post images here. I suppose that I would use it if I did. For other image hosting purposes I use imageshack (as a transitory server) and I also have a Flickr account.
  10. They're all great. The only thing I would advice is to play more with fonts... they seem very similar... I know tey're all different, but all very simple and at the same size more or less. I think taht could improve the overall impression in 3, 5 and 6. Good work.
  11. I agree... if something is made by lot of people no one can blame the other if he is not giving the best of him. When the forum is borin, everyone should notice and contribute with ideas... if everybody did it, te situation will change totally and this will be a brainstorming forum. You know that slogan "Think globally, act locally". The same applies here, I guess. So whenever ypu think the forum is dying into boredom, try to reanimate it. Instead of complain, contribute... after all, you're making the same effort, one post.
  12. If what you want is a blog try Wordpress. If you don't like it or think it's difficult try Blogger. There's no point in using Joomla or another CMS if you need to ask advice about a blog system, becuase those CMS are intended for more complex sites than a simple blo and probably you're going to customize lot of things that could be not so easy as getting started with wordpress... and if you're not going to use what they offer it's stupid to use them, choose always something that suits your needs.
  13. In my opinion is not a question of age, but a question of cultures. I mean in some countries, being 16 means being really adult, having responasabilities, etc. In others, especially in occident you can have even 30 and still act like a child. Sometimes, your rich parent gives you a car when you get to the age that you're allowed to drive and there you go... but if you don't need the car, it's like a toy. So you drive like the dumb you are because you don't think that you're risking your life and the lifes of lots others. So I don't know. I really feel that in Spain there are lots of young drivers who don't deserve the right to drive a car. They use to be idiots who, very often have a motorbike before they can legally drive a car... and you know, they trick them to make more noise and disturb neighbours. I know it's not logical to having everybody paying for some, but it's like very generalized. Anyway I think that the real solution is change the driving exams because right now it's not about how good you drive, it's about the scandalous amounts of money you spend on it.Anyway if that age would change, drivers who already have the license should keep it, at least because they have spend lots of money (license, car, insurance...) that the government is not gonna pay, I guess.
  14. Maybe it's because when they were developing it, they implemented early that phrase that says more or less "320.024 results found". So they think there must appear really high numbers, with lots of zeros and they thought that something derived from googol (which sounds cool also) could fit the name of a search engine called to be the most popular worldwide. Or maybe just sounds cool.
  15. Looks interesting but not much more. I mean whenever you do a web with some editor, specially an online one, you don't have full control and I don't think this will succeed if you can do only webs entirely based in flash, that may look cool at first but then boring. Anyway if it becomes a good business undoubtedly that yahoo or google will buy it, so maybe if you wait some months you can say that Sitecube is really owned by one of those.
  16. Try searching on emule... you will find a lot of tutorials, specially on PDF. Choose one for the version you're going to use, although they're more or less similar.
  17. Nice tutorial, I think you explain very well what are these two games. Sudoku have become really popular, I don't know if its a global phenomenon but here in Spain we didn't know sudokus like 3 years ago and now they're in every newspaper and lots of people do them going to school, work, etc. It's kind of a fever indeed. Those kakuros aren't so popular or at least I didn't know them... but who knows, maybe they're the next fashion in newspaper games. And now kids make sudokus in their nintendo ds and that so it's really extended. For me both are too... I wouldn't say difficult but I don't get any joy by completing a sudoku, so I don't waste my time trying it (or at least trying it hard). I prefer old fashioned crosswords.
  18. It's not a stupid question at all, but an interesting one. We know (if we feel that facts have more power han religion, of course) that we can't feel anything after we die and that we don't experience anything. But this question is as old as the human being. Men have always been obsessed with death since prehistoric times. So for me it's more interesting the question of "why do we obsess with death although we know that nothing happens and why can't we just admit it?". This, perfectly well could turn into a philosophical topic, really.
  19. I hate that the surface is black and polished and gets a lot of fingerprints... it's impossible to have it completely clean... and it gets also scratched with everything. Besides that, I hate that the receiving volume when someone calls you is too low... well, maybe I'm a bit dumb but you can't hear anything when there are some noise and in a city this is very common.
  20. It is a fact that United Nations has no real power. They only make reports and paper work, but when something important must be voted, the reality is that there are countries whose vote locks the decission. That way problems would never be solved. For example, it has passed a lot of time since the first time UN dictated that there must be a referendum for the saharaui people to get out of the Moroccan domain. Morocco always find excuses to not celebrate any referendum... and this way is likely to continue to the end of time. The same with Israel and Palestina and the same in every place of the world. UN talks but the governments don't listen unless they think the same.
  21. I just have a small Peugeot 206, but I don't use it too much now that I go to work by train. But I hope I can get the Audi my elder brother has when he buys a new one, although I'm not sure because it wastes more gasoline. It amazes me that in the question "truck" was before "car". I don't think it's so usual to own a truck... even in the US.
  22. Probably good news for google users, because they will try to improve their own search engine. Let's face it, I don't think microsoft is going to win this battle... at least not in a few years time.
  23. I also hope Pirate Bay wins. It's high time someone in this side attacks the industry, because they're even breaking laws just because they feel copyright, and author rights are more important than anything, for example the free access to culture. Let's cross fingers, this could set an important jurisprudence.
  24. This news is absolutely hilarious. If senators are like this what can north american people expect from their president? Let's hope God won't revenge. Really funny, indeed... I would like to the see the face of this senator to see if he's kidding or just dumb.
  25. That's a nice tutorial and very useful indeed. Installing a phBB it's relatively easy, i hope version 3 will be pretty much the same . But maybe then we may need a tutorial about getting rid of spam, because I'm overwhelmed by it.
