Hello and welcome to the Trap It's always nice to see new faces around here! It sounds like you have a lot of interesting things that you like. I tried martial arts and swimming lessons before, but I really didn't get too far with it. I think I'm more of a spectator myself. And I love watching diving, but I'm afraid to even jump off the side of the pool into the water. I'm strange that way ;)Anyway, if you have any questions, be it about this site, or creating your own site, you've got a great bunch of people here that will be more than happy to help you out. They've always helped me when I've had questions, plus it's a nice way to get your credits up. Yea, it really is too bad that it's only for the US. It would be nice to find things like that for Canada, since I really like to follow the weather and storms and all that. But still, it's a nice site, so I bookmarked it and can go back and look at some of the storms that may end up coming this way, though by the time they get here they are only half as bad as when they go through the States.

Wow, that's very (berry) interesting! I've never heard of such a thing until now, and reading up on it makes it sound like something that is very fun to try out. Especially for someone like me that doesn't like the tastes of many kinds of foods. I can just imagine how many things would taste better just by having some of that miracle fruit first.I read lots of examples for how things taste, and was wondering, do these tastes last for a long time after eating the miracle fruit? Or can you feel it working less and less as you eat?

Well, just to let you know... I'm pretty sure that they have a back up of things, so it should all get back to normal once they can get things sorted out. I think that they can fix it all because I ended up going to support last night a few hours after my site went down, when I couldn't log into the forums, and they worked with me to get it set up again. They created the accounts, and transfered their back up files so that my site was back up and running within an hour of my contacting them. I was very thankful for all the work they did for me. My hats off to them. The only thing they were unable to fix was my forum account, but that's working now too

Interesting things pointed out here... though I don't really believe the Friday the 13 = bad luck bit. I think that perhaps the accidents and stuff go up because people are already on edge from thinking it's an unlucky day, that they get into more accidents. Then when they happen, it's obviously blamed on the day it happened to fall on.This Friday the 13th wasn't unlucky for me. I was at the race track, enjoying my racing and camping, with my father, whose birthday just happened to be that day. So we were both doing what we liked the most and didn't have any kind of misfortune But thinking back, I don't recall any car #13s while we were there haha... I guess when you are racing that fast, it's better to be safe than sorry, because you just never know, right?

I've never played in any sports, but I do like to be a spectator for various things. My favourite would be auto racing. I go to the race track a lot in the summer But I also enjoy watching lacrosse, and football. Baseball is fun, if I'm way out of the range for where the balls get hit, because I've seen people get hit in the face a few times, and now I'm too afraid to sit in those areas, so when I'm there, I freak out too much and it's no fun

I've heard many stories, but who knows how much of it is true... because even if the person that writes about it believes it with all their heart, it is still not necessarily the truth, because someone could have been moving it to write the words without the rest of the people there knowing it. I've always suspected that someone would have to be moving it, and I've heard that it can be moved subconsciously, but I'm not really sure on the whole thing.Mind you, I've tried it a few times with different people, with varying results, and I just look at it all as a fun time. I don't take what it says too seriously, because you just never know if it is or not. Because no matter what your friends say, they could still be moving it, and telling you that they aren't.What I'd really like to know if for those people that claim to be able to do it alone and contact the spirits. Do they honestly believe that they are getting someone otherworldly calling through? Maybe they are unconsciously moving it? I've tried it alone once before to see if what those people said was true, but nothing happened lol... perhaps it's because I don't really believe. Then again, I've also heard that it's very dangerous to play alone... so maybe it's good it didn't work? If it had, I probably would have freaked out anyway, and just stopped

Yea, I was wondering about how well they'd stay on the cars too... mind you, I can see them falling off (or people even taking them off just for the fun of it). It's an interesting concept though. Like art-cars. Maybe they should get displayed in some kind of art exhibit after the cars finally break down. That would keep them out of the garbage for the time being at least.Then again, by the time that the cars broke down for good, the keys might not all be there anymore, so it probably wouldn't look as good anymore :DI wonder if there's a company that does that, or if it's just a bunch of people that have done it themselves. I was thinking a company, because I couldn't imagine putting them all on there myself, but I suppose someone had to. Plus, where on earth do you get that many keyboards? Plus, the keyboards seem to come in all sorts of colours that I didn't expect. I thought they were mostly just generic colours.And what would have happened if they ran out of the 'homer' colour before the picture was done? It would look kind of silly to use a similar (but still different colour) to finish it off, so I guess they really have to plan out which colours are used where and be sure that they have enough of the needed colours before starting.Anyway, that was interesting, and something that I didn't really expect to see lol... when I clicked in here I though it would be that they used the plastic from the keyboards and melted them down to car parts or something, but this was much more entertaining!

Okay, sorry that this is a very old thread, but it's my old thread, so I'm going to give it another go lol... So I like the sounds of this... but I'm not quite sure how to go about implementing it correctly. To do this, should I just change the links on the pages to go to the new domain? I don't really have anything that's like topics/comments that I can close and redirect since it's not a forum, but rather just an information site. But I think that changing the links in the site to go to the new url should do the same sort of thing. What happens if Google drops the old site, won't no one be able to find me anymore? I would think with a new URL I'd lose all my ranking, and it's the top rankings in the search engine that gives me my visitors. Or will google realize that it's the same site, and let me keep my rankings? Anyway, sorry to bring this up again... but I had some extra questions when I was thinking about it again. And if you look at my site, excuse the mess, it's undergoing a redesign so it's pretty bad right now, but after I'm finished that, I wanted to buy the paid service and get it switched over. Because it's probably better to switch it now, when there is less visitors, then to switch it later when I'm almost out of bandwidth, right? So if the hits do go down, it won't quite be so bad? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I've earned all time around $400 now. But this is from around 3 years... so it's not very high. But at least they really do pay, and I'm in canada, so it's not just to the us :DIt's also earning faster than before now, since my traffic has increased, and I've worked on placing ads in better places, and making them blend into my site better. I've also used the adwords keywords tool, to see which words about my topics pay more than others, and added those words to my pages which seems to have made the average click worth more. It's nothing fast for me, but it's a steady little bit of money that comes in, and speeding up all the time, so hopefully later it will make more than just some extra spending money for me.But never ever click your own ads. That's against the rules as the other people have said!Oh, and by the way, the referral ads are different than the content ads. Clicks to referral ads don't pay unless the person who clicked went on to buy something on that other site. I don't make much money with these kind of ads, but I have made a little bit. I'm experiementing more with using referral ads on large pages that already have the maximum amount of 3 content ads on them.

Wow, seeing some of those figures have really made me excited about what is possible. I didn't realise that so many people could do well with Adsense. I haven't been doing so bad myself... though I don't really make much, it has been a steady stream of money that comes in. I've gotten three checks so far, and I have another one on the way right now... but that wasn't in a short time by any means. I think the most that I've made in a single day has been in the low $2 range... maybe $3 range, I'm not exactly sure, but it's never been that high. The nice thing for me is that I get a little bit every day, so after a while it really does add up to something and every so often I get some extra spending money.Since I can see that many of you people have been making it work well, I'm going to keep at it, cause you've all inspired me to make more. I've lately been doing some testing with different placements/colours and things... and so far so good. It seems to have brought up the amount I make a little. I'm going to keep working on that to try and find the best things to maximize my earnings. I also worked on putting better keywords into my site, which seems to have made the average cost per click go up a bit too!

I'm also on the dinosaur bandwagon here.... I figure, something like them could have existed (though I don't believe they would have breathed fire lol...) I'm just thinking that they were dinosaurs, or something that was a decendent of them, since the time of dinosaurs was over by the time humans existed for the tales of the knights that battled them. But then again, maybe they lived before human times too, because there are also tales of humans finding the lost world and battling dinosaurs. Maybe it's all just a big story.Though it's strange that they've not really found any bones or fossils from dragons. Because they've found so many from other types of creatures that have lived in the past, I would have thought that they'd have found some bones to prove of the dragons existence.It's a tough question, but still an interesting one to think about. I just wish that we could get a real solid proof that there was or wasn't dragons. Mind you, I think it's next to impossible to prove that something doesn't exist, so we'd have to keep believing until some kind of proof was found.

That trap feedbacker, garbi, summed up pretty well my thoughts after reading this thread... and Forbez, you are absolutely right. I'm sure tons of people have eaten spiders, either accidentally, or on a dare of something, and I have yet to read about a death from swallowing a daddy long legs.As for the spiders (and I'm thinking of the cellar daddy long legs - cause that's the only ones that I've ever referred to as a daddy long legs before now) I never got near them before now, and I don't really plan to in the future. Spiders, whether or not they have or don't have venom that can hurt us are just plain gross. But I did learn some interesting things from reading through all these posts, so I'm happy about that.

Wow, I certainly feel behind the times. I didn't even know that a FireFox3 was released, even if it's stable or not yet. I'm still working in my version 2. I don't think that I'll update quite yet, but I think I'll look around for some more screen shots to see what it's all about first. Even if the default version that shows up after the download isn't quite what people want, I'm sure that there are skins that can work with it so that you can change the looks, so I'll be on the look out for that. I really find it funny though about how many people mentioned that they hid the home button in the favourites bar. Why there? I use that button all the time, so I'm definitely going to have to pull that one out. Mind you, maybe it's that a lot of people don't really use that button. I know that as web savvy people, the button makes sense to us, but I really had no idea how many people didn't even change their homepage, let alone use it. It seems to me that people who don't understand the web that much never bother to change their homepage from the page of their internet provider. I've also seen many people that want to, but just don't know how. Or other people that didn't even know it was possible, so they don't use the home button, because it's of no use to them.So maybe, the home button is more limited to the younger generation, and the web developer group, and the people that created the new FireFox version thought it got in the way of many people's browsing, since there's a big group of people that don't use it. But that would be a poor excuse because there is also a large group of people that do.Whatever the case, I'm going to have to look into it more. I'll probably download it in the end, and if it really is that bad, then I can always revert it back to an earlier version I guess.

I really don't know much about the situation either... so I can't really say much, but there should have been some other solution than to send you home for that. I mean, was there anything offensive on your shirt? If it was just that people signed it, then so what? What's the big deal? Even if there was offensive stuff on t-shirts in my high school, all the teachers made the students do was wear the shirt inside out for the rest of the day. Wouldn't that have worked in your case too?Some teachers just like to act all superior to the students because it makes them feel like they are worth more than they really are. Those teachers are actually very small individuals that just like to keep the students down. It's more pathetic to see these teachers, knowing they have nothing better to do than try to ruin a students high school career.

I had no idea about the water. I knew that it was always good to drink lots of water (not that I ever did though ) but now maybe I'll have a reason to! I'll have to look more into why that actually burns calories, because here all I could think was with all that water in my stomach, I'd feel full and not want to eat anything else haha.But trying to equal out the water in your body, that's a new one for me and I want to see what that's all about lol

I remember that quiz lol... I tried it a bunch one day, but never did finish it It's called impossible for a reason lol... in the end, I just gave up, cause I had other things that I had to do. Maybe some other time I'll go back to it and try to beat it, but I can't see that happening anytime soon. Only if I have absolutely nothing better to do.

I have no idea what Apophysis is (some kind of program I'm guessing?)... or even what it has to do with making fractals (or even what fractals are ) but those are some cool pictures you've got. How did you go about creating them? Is it something a non-techy like myself could take a try at? How long did it take you to make those? Sorry for all the questions, but now I want to see if I can do it too :lol:By the way, I think I like the second one the best. That's a tricky topic One half of me wants to know if it could be done, and if it could, how it would turn out. But then there's the other half of myself that says, there's no way that's a good idea... but it still leaves me curious as to what would happen. I think the animal hybrids are pretty cool... but it's just kind of weird to think about that in human terms.Oh, and would it be the donor's brother that could say... "I'm a monkey's uncle"? When I was in college, a teacher briefly explained about 'Lorem Ipsum', and I knew the general idea behind it, but it was nice to read something a little more substantial about it. Plus, it's also good to know about how some have been altered to include some other things in the text. I didn't realize that that had been done. Now I'll be sure to search for a 'clean' version of the text if at all possible before using it in any designs, because I don't want something really unexpected to pop up at the most inopportune time lolI can see myself giving a presentation with some Lorem Ipsum text, and one of the people I'm presenting to starts to snicker... I wouldn't know why until afterwards when he pulls me to the side to tell me what was actually written in there. I'd be so embarrassed lol...

Now that is just insane... I couldn't believe what I was reading until I clicked on that link and saw the story for myself. It's incredible the advances that are being made into the medical field now a days. And things just keep getting better and better every day :lol:Hopefully that will help out lots of people that have been hurt, so that they can regrow back fingers or other tissues that they've lost. I know it's a long ways away to seeing the full potential of something like that, but that's still incredible that it was even able to do that well. I'm astonished really.

lol... Xisto's gone morbid. Didn't really expect to see this topic, but I'll give it a go, since I have nothing better to do at the moment. I guess, if I had to choose a way, I'd just hope that I wouldn't see it coming, and it would be over before I knew what hit me. Either while I'm sleeping, so long as I didn't wake up and die, or perhaps some other way that would be immediate death if I'm awake at the time, cause I really wouldn't want to know before hand.

Funny thing about my eyesight, is I don't wear glasses when I'm at the computer, because that's the place that my eyes have stayed perfect in... Pretty much anything that is farther away than my monitor seems to go blurry. I think it's from staring at the same distance most of the time, so my eyes have settled there.I don't think it's the computer that did in my eyesight though, since my -entire- family wears glasses. Both parents, my sister, all grandparents... it's a family trait to have bad eye sight for me I think lol... but mine is actually the best out of my whole family, like my sister, her prescription is 5x stronger than mine.I don't really mind how I look with glasses, I guess since I'm used to them... since I've worn them for like almost ten years now. I've had contacts as well during the time, but I'm too lazy to bother with them these days, when I can just easily take on and off a pair of glasses.

Well, I've been waiting for about 24 hours now... three of my sites went down around this time yesterday. I figured by now things would be working again, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Is there something that I'm missing? I got the email since I'm also a paying customer (interesting how the three paid sites of mine went down, but the free site of mine stayed up lol...). The email mentioned about how things would be down for 5-6 hours, possibly up to 24 hours, so I was hoping that it would have all resolved by now. I see the list of ip's mentioned above, am I supposed to be doing something on my end with them? Or will things just work out fine on their own? I'm not sure if I need to change something to get it working, or if it only needs more time to work itself out. I'm not on a virtual private server, so I am under the impression that I don't need to do anything but wait. Being addicted or not, taking that many pills can't be good for a person. I think that's why they say the limit on the box. I'm not really sure what the limit is, but I know it's not as high as you say you are taking. My advice... find out why you are taking all these pills. Are you in pain? Are you crying out for attention? Do you just think that moving the focus to the pills you can forget about other bad things that are going on in your life? What is it that is wrong that you are trying to use the pills to cure? Find the route of the problem, and try to figure out another way to deal with it.If it really is pain, and it takes that many for you to feel alright, then it's time to go to the doctors and get some real pain medication. This way, it won't be harming you to be taking too many at a time like you are now. But if you do go that route, you'll really need to be sure not to take them more than prescribed, because I'm guessing that is a lot more serious of a thing if you are using stronger medicine. You say you are feeling stomach pain. That's probably from all the pills, but seeing a doctor would be the best way to make sure.If you are having other issues in your life, and the pills seem like a nice distraction from that, then maybe you'll have to confront whatever that problem is. Talk to someone about it... a friend, a family member, even a school councilor or some other type or person that could help you deal with this. There are people and places that can help you, but you have to figure out what your real problem is before you can get help. If you problem is pain... see a doctor, if your problem is psychological... see a psychologist, if your problem is addiction... see an addiction specialist. Find your problem, and get some help, because you are probably doing yourself more harm than good by taking so many pills.
