  1. Actually, building a whole carrier and fame on the internet using fair methods may actually work. You are right, that some people don't even deserve to try because they are a living disaster, but its their right and you can't take from the can you? As for me, there aren't many things that make me nervous on the internet, mostly because I'm not prone to viruses, spyware, adware, ads, pop-ups, phishing attacks etc. because I don't use Windowsďż˝ and I am fully aware of what pages are safe-ground, I use an adblocker, what email is spam and so on... But nothing can make me as nervous as trolls who just try to make other people's lives more miserable and try to ruin their moods. The only thing I can do with these kinds of people is just to ignore them.
  2. You can see the server name on where your site is hosted in your cPanel in the stats panel on the bottom left (below the number of your SQL databases). You can see the links for the detailed PHP info for each server in the 'Server Status' link of the Xisto billing area where you can also see the server load and their uptime. Hope I helped!
  3. I couldn't agree more! If you are living in a secular country, you should follow the laws that the country has and not your own theo. How can you then expect your own rules to be followed in your own house (e.g. for a muslim by his wifes) if you don't follow the laws on a higher level than you? Also, as the OP, I don't get it how you can give a divorce to your wife with just repeating the same word 3 times, people can say or make even worse things when they're mad!
  4. Baniboy, I got listed on Google in a matter of couple of hours after I signed up for Google Webmaster Tools and submitted a sitemap overthere. English wasn't the main language of the site Also, remember that Google doesn't like copy/pasted content so NEVER do that as either you won't be listed or you'll be on the bottom of the search results. Be patient and you'll get results
  5. I'll just ask here (to not to open another topic elsewhere), why isn't the gallery mod working since you've upgraded IPB? I can see that pictures are present in some of the profiles here which were obviously uploaded when the Gallery worked. It would be nice to open it up, mostly for the GFX crew to have a central place to upload their works.
  6. Happy birthday Buff I hope you will continue with the great job you are doing here
  7. Heyya there mentat! Welcome to our community, hope you'll fit in perfectly and you'll be a wonderful member of this board. But first, read the forum rules and abide by them. 8. Yep, I play football, why not? It's the most popular sport in my country and everyone, especially males, either watches or plays it (if not both) recreatively. I played in a soccer club before but now I just play w/ my friends when they invite me. That happens several times a month on Fridays and we really get into the game when we play, we swear and do stuff almost every normal person does when he's excited, verbal fights occur too. After the game we just chill and pretend that nothing happened because we got the things that were on our back from the work we did the week out from ourselves. It's really great for stress-removal and it's a recommended sport for atleast once in a month to recreate.
  9. Picasa® 3 is out for several months on the market now and the latest Windows build according to Wikipedia is "3.1 Build 71.18". Versions are also available for the Mac and Linux, though the Linux one is not a native one, but uses the Wine wrapper. The 3rd version of this image organizing and editing software features new changes like: Syncing the edits of the photos you did in Picasa - instead of re-uploading them Adding text and watermarks to the images — a simple task that sometimes demands downloading additional software Retouching your images — ... also a procedure that may demand downloading other software Crop tool Automatic red-eye removal and so on... for full feature comparison, visit this page My experience with this app starts when it was in its 2nd version and when I was still using Windows. It was really great then and it stayed that way through the years because it kept its unique features like the timeline and the simple and intuitive interface. It wasn't available for Mac then so because of the great demand Google retought and released a version for it, including all the features the Windows version has. Too bad the Linux version is still FULL of bugs[1] and doesn't come even close to the other 2 versions. Google really needs to get their sleeves up and make a native one, if they are too defiant to release it as an OSS product. Although it's non-free commerical software and I don't use a lot of those, I will continue to use this one because I'm using it for 2 years and I've organized almost all of my pictures into collections. Download page: http://picasa.google.com/ What is your experience with Picasa? Have you used it?/Are you using it? Do you fancy using image organization software like AcdSee, Picasa and the like?
  10. The mother should've known better, but it's too harsh to judge her after her beloved children suffered something awful like that.I simply don't get how people like these are born and I can't see how can something cute as a baby and as a kid to develop in something undescribable like this. What has the soicety done to make people like these to grow up into monsters? :)The offender isn't even a person for me and I don't wish to analyze this story furthermore.
  11. Your best set is to not trust anything that masks itself as a picture of you sent by MSN and avoid sending and receiving direct links to some .exe file and accepting files unless you are absolutely certain that it's your friend and not a virus on the other side of the conv. It's really ridiculous to accept a file that's named in a similar manner like this: Or you can also use Linux or a Mac and accept everything and never get infected, I'm sure that I keep several .zip files with viruses inside on my Ubuntu machine
  12. You didn't give Opera, I think Opera gave up on you hehe j/k IMHO, Opera does a better job as a browser in GNU/Linux for some reason than in Windows, where Chrome is kinda more usable (on a faster machine) and faster, also Google's services don't refuse to support it, unlike they do with Opera — which isn't even in the supported browser list of GMail (nor in Y! Mail or Live Mail) — a thing that made Opera's devs to remove the option to redirect mailto: links to GMail, Y!Mail or Live Mail which was available in one of their earlier snapshots and instead add Fastmail.Fm and Yandex which clearly say that they support traffic comming from Opera. I haven't seen a Mac so I can't judge which browser is better for that environment. Too bad that Google lately doesn't support it's own slogan "Don't be evil!" by not supporting a browser thats ahead of theirs in the market share. ps. Maybe you should try to use GMail with the IMAP and SMTP client that Opera offers with its M2 mail client, which works fantastically for me!
  13. It depends on your technicallity and courage to do such a task. As zakaluka said, you may be left with a bricked peace of hardware you gave $200 for OR you can end up having a better iPod with more apps and some people may even give you money to jailbreak their iPod (if they agree with the risk ofcourse). I suggest you to wait for a couple of months and see if you're gonna like it with the original hardware and when and if it gets boring you can experiment with it. Be sure to use a video tutorial (works the best) that many people used before so you'll know their success rate I wish you luck!
  14. The place where I learned xHTML, CSS and a bit of PHP is W3Schools, but you can also try to search for free PDF books on these subjects as some of them are really helpful and totally free! Roam and participate (if possible) in the "Programming Languages" section of this board where you'll learn lots of new stuff and where you can ask your questions too. Also, try clicking on these searches or make up your own: search:html tutorials filetype:pdf search:css tutorials filetype:pdf search:php tutorials filetype:pdf Don't forget that the best way to learn new stuff is to experiment, so check out the codes of the sites (Ctrl-U) and I'm sure you'll find the learning of the languages much simpler and easier. As for the original question, no, you can't make a website without the programming languages you mentioned. How can you bake a cake if you don't have the ingredients?
  15. The best place where you can look for hardware like that is Google Shopping or eBay, but considering the fact that Google Shopping also does search eBay you can forget about using search in it. Also, searching for one from a friend or a friend of a friend will work nicer because you can get one for free and fast if you want to use it only for once.
  16. I don't have any air condition in my flat and I can say that I am really glad I don't. When I go somewhere I am used to place without an A/C so I don't nag people when it shuts down.Actually, we don't need any because we have 2 balconies and when it's really hot, which happens almost never, I go and chill over on the one on the north side :PLucky me!
  17. In the summer, I simply go to my village and I am almost never indoors (which helps a lot) and when it's really hot outside my friends and I go to the river and bathe! The water is really cold so it chills you and leaves you that way for a relatively long time. When we are lazy and can't go there, we eat a lot of icecream (bad for your throat, but meh) and we splash ourselves with plenty of water (it flows all the time so there is no loss of it). Not only we keep cool, but we have fun too! And we can get diseases easily too
  18. IMHO, burning more than 100 lights just for lighting up the Christmas tree is really a great waste of energy and if many people follow the example, they may make power failures which are really bad, especially in the New Year's holidays.I dunno, we have a small non-natural Christmas tree and it has around 20-30 lights and it does its job like it should have :)I really don't get what's the catch in big decorations which waste a lot of electricity.
  19. hehe, nice tips there flashy, I was really wondering if hitting a pile of snow (that doesn't have any 'surprises' like you mentioned behind it) would be beneficial in a situation where the brakes aren't working. Glad you cleared that up for me. Also, like rayzoredge said, the new models of cars prevent you from slamming the gears in reverse. I hope I'll become a great driver when I grow up!
  20. I use TinyPic in around 98% of the times when I upload stuff to the web, because its interface does the job really fast and offers a quick image resizer. It's not the most used image uploader for being nothing y'know I also use PhotoBucket sometimes when I want the link not to be lost (it stays in your account) but from my experience the images open terribly slow and because of that I don't use it for sig images or images that are viewed many, many times. I forgot to add that the BW limitation for free users that PhotoBucket has is terrible and should be removed.

  23. Wow! I am soooooooo getting this when it comes out! Seriously. No kid. It's da game of da year. But I do wonder if it'll work on my top-notch Core 2 Duo machine Commodore 64. I can see that this demands too much processing power
  24. Broadcom wireless cards don't have native drivers because the many manufacturers don't supply them for GNU/Linux (yet), so you'll have to use NDISwrapper so your card will become usable again. So, you'll just have to follow this video tutorial which explains step-by-step how to install the wrapper. Tell us your results here.
  25. Hey man, why don't you edit the WordPress themes topic and replace the

tag with the [codeBOX] tag because some ppl don't like to scroll. Thanks
