  1. Yes, that's right. But the path on how the dissociation reaction occurs may differ. I referred to the example as being in a solution (an aqueous solution, to be specific) so it would be easier to understand. There are complicated solutions in nature that could not be described as an aqueous solution but still a solution. Another way to look at it aside from "in the solution" point of view is taking into consideration that they are in an Ionic Bond (A bond formed by an attraction between two different charges, positive and negative.) For your case, PO4 3- and 2 H +.
  2. You are actually referring to a Polyatomic Ion in an aquaeous solution, PO4 3-, phosphate ion. The question is valid. The extra 3 electrons that you have to add to complete the Lewis Electron Dot structure aren't drawn from the lower energy levels, they're actually from the Hydrogen atoms in the solution. When you put phosphoric acid, H3PO4, in an water it undergoes several stages of dissociation reactions leading to the creation of the Phosphate Ion, PO4 3-.The reaction looks like this: H3PO4 <----> H+ + H2PO−4H2PO−4 <----> H+ + HPO2−4 HPO2−4 <-----> H+ + PO3−By the way, I used the symbol "<------>" to signify, "In equilibrium with".
  3. I live in the Philippines, majority of the population are Roman Catholic and less than 10% are Muslims. Both religion teaches "sex after marriage." I grew up in Mindanao where the majority of Muslim population are located. Just like other religion, there are Islam followers who are really religious as there are non-religious souls. I've seen inter-faith marriage. They're human, after all. For the religious Muslims, there's what they call honor killing (of course, it's illegal). When a Muslim woman falls in love with a Christian man, if they have sex and the woman's family finds out, they'd better run 'cause the girl's family are gonna kill them. (Not as much today as before.)During college years, a couple (boy is christian, girl is muslim) fell in love. They've been together for a very long time but kept their relationship a secret. They may have been hunted by the girl's family and they decided to end it the romeo and juliet way, suicide. It's sad. But after that, their families decided to bury them in a christian cemetery, right beside each other. This has been happening for a long time. I can't say it's wrong because it's the culture/belief they've had and I barely understand what Islam is about. Lately, though, I've noticed leniency with such act. I guess the Muslim and Christian community in my country are evolving.
  4. I think cable is better. It's more reliable and I remember that there's a slight difference with how fast both connection can go, with cable higher. I'm using 3G so I can't really give a credible feedback. Anyway, CNET made a comparison between the two. Not speed specific, but Cable vs DSL in general. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  5. The technology civilization offers (now and the next few decades) relies on breaking down matter (molecule, pen, table, horse, human, etc.) on one site and recreating it on the another site. It's a good idea but with few issues that need to be addressed. As for interferences and possible power and connection interruptions, if future civilizations could make teleportation come true, I'm sure they would have figured out how to avoid those problems. Still, teleportation is limited to destruction and recreation. Better solution (centuries, if not millenia away) would be to cut a plane of exisitence (I can't think of another term) on one site and transferring it to another site. Then you have a "door". Just open a door and when you walk through it you're on site 2. How to cut and transport the plane....hmm..that's the future human's problem, not ours. Hehe
  6. none. I hate both dogs and cats. Peace guys. I just feel sad at looking at them on leash or living with human help. they should be set free. ohh my.I do love plants...
  7. How about http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ = tech etcetera...(the .com is already taken) http://imptestrm.com/rg-erdr.php?_dnm=www.techetcetera.com&_cfrg=1&_drid=as-drid-2300300503455222 is available. But it's too long. But since it's going to be a blog, you can use your online name: ash. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (or techie-ash.com). I love the sound og http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. It's somehow sounds like "kick *bottom*".
  8. Kleong has a point, the background is too bright it takes the detail out of the content. You could either use a paler background. And since it's a Travel site, I recommend making it more interactive and current. The product you're selling is really great when you offer a lot of pictures of the destinations and even the fleet (crew, cabins, etc.) Since you're targeting tourists (who are in the market to leave the stress of life), use pictures (slideshows using JS frameworks) and a soothing color scheme for the website.
  9. Hi George! Welcome to Xisto (Xisto). Enjoy your stay.
  10. Hi Justin. Welcome back, I guess. The Post-to-host campaign that Trap is offering has made me active! I hope you'll have the same experience. Ahh. For the tips, start by posting. Just make sure that you're doing it on the right place. You might get whacked. Kidding Choose the topic you're comfortable in and shout. Trap (now, Xisto for some reason) has a good, mix community you'll definitely find interesting. Quality of your post is important if you want to earn MyCents. Keep those posts coming.
  11. I don't think private servers of online games are pirates. (I'll be talking about something I'm not sure of. So if you have information that disagrees with the following, please inform me. Thanks.)I heard/read a few years back that the license of most online games doesn't include the server hosting or things like it. This is to free them from any responsibilities in case something happens to the server and files get deleted. If you're an avid MMORPG gamer, you surely have experience rollbacks. During these instances, the "free of responsibility" takes into effect. You can shout all you want but the game host isn't responsible for anything that may have been lost during any rollbacks. And to appease the gamers, they provide freebies like 2x on experience or better drop rate. This is mostly true to online games that are offered as free (but with an online store for premium items). If someone creates his own server of a game, it's not illegal. Unless, of course, the gamehost has licensed something that gives him monopoly of the game hosting. Please be reminded that I'm just talking about something I'm not entirely sure of.
  12. If it's a 3G USB Dongle, I believe there is no way to set it up to automatically connect. USB Connection (I'm using SmartBro Plug-it Plan 999) and I've been trying to set it up in such a way that it will automatically connect during boot up, but failed. Apparently, 3G USB Dongles requires the use of a software to manage the connection. And these software keep tracks of your usage (either for billing or monitoring). There may be hacks to do this but I don't know any, yet.
  13. I'm experiencing the same issue. Must be the change to Xisto but I'm pretty sure that it will be up and running in a few hours or days.

    Mycent

Oh. Thank you for that information. I've been hanging out again in this site and started using myCent to get a domain and hosting but I had no idea how it works and how to get good credits. All I see is that red number and it's exciting. Now it makes sense.
  15. Computer manufacturers doesn't include the OS CD when you purchase their product. The laptop will definitely work if you install the pirated OS. There is one catch, however. Once you have the pirated OS installed on the laptop, the software warranty (if there is any) of the laptop is automatically voided. But I believe, when you have to choose between the laptop not working and a void software warranty, you'll surely pick the latter. Better yet, try using Linux OS (Ubuntu, Debian, etc.). That is if you're using the laptop to get surf the net and some few IMs. Stick with Windows (Pirated or Not), if you'll be playing games in it.
  16. All I use on my PC is Malwarebytes and the Free AVG. It works well for me. I'm not sure, though, if it's the best setup for the computers you maintain (WIndows XP SP3 and all that.)
  17. Earning money online takes a lot of patience, time and a good idea to sell. If you're selling the same product that thousands of other people are offering then you're at a loss. And using video marketing/internet marketing will barely make a huge impact on your sales. On the other hand, novel ideas that work are rare. And if chance has it that you're selling the same product as others do, make it unique. One example is having a photo-blog (and earning through ad-clicks or page impressions). Photoblogs are common and to make yours unique, add features on your photo-blog. Instead of just showing out your photos, take Subject request from viewers. This is just a sample. And I'm sure you have a lot of ideas. Using any marketing media will not increase your gain if you're product isn't unique and useful, at the same time.

    Hi Im new

Hi Djwray!Welcome to Xisto. Enjoy your stay! It's one of the best websites around...
  20. Hey Kababayan! I can't answer anything about the tech details you're asking but with regards to registration, I have some idea. I asked a friend to purchased a Sony PSPGo a few months back in Riyadh and brought it here in the Philippines. I registered it under UAE. Serial numbers are region specific so even if you have the option to register it in the Philippines, it may still be denied. The same applies to different services. You register the item where you bought it, and you can only claim the warranty in the country/region where you bought it.
  21. I agree with Rael IAK. Microsoft's real competition isn't Google's Spreadsheets but the OpenOffice suite. Still Microsoft's hold on productivity software is tight. Fortunately, internet shops that can't afford to buy the licensed version of Microsoft Office used OpenOffice as the alternative.
  22. Yep. I often stumble into slideshare when searching for very specific topics on the net. These are common if you're looking for topics that aren't normally talked about and are common in books. I believe some of SlideShare's contents are from magazines, books, and other publications. Sometimes it just become annoying because SlideShare takes an awful lot of time to load the contents.
  23. I played this game a few years ago and it's totally awesome. The graphics isn't the best but the gameplay is. I love the fact that you have to manually plant/harvest the raw materials. And it's a really hard game to beat! It's a really old thread so I guess these two people above won't bother replying. Ohh
  24. Age of Empires II is a great game but it's not the best. Come on. There's Starcraft and more. For an RTS, my personal best is Civilizations III.
  25. Welcome, HendeNelson! Enjoy your stay and keep those post coming!
