Shielded Internet For Your Teenager .
linekill replied to Curtis's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) may have that feature on the email address they're providing for free, most does like Time Warner Cable and Comcast. As for a way to check on his Internet activities, there are several software available (for around USD 50) that you can install in his computer to limit or create logs of websites he accessed. On the other hand, Vista and Win 7 already has this same feature. -
There's a way to track lost/stolen/robbed laptop but it depends on the laptop. There's a service called "CompuTrace". It's available in HP laptops as an add-on to any customizable model. I don't know how it works, though, but I know it's effective.A similar program may be available for Macbooks.

Yours is the only plausible answer. Limp Bizkit? Linkinpark? For real? Do you guys even listen to good old rock music? (On the side note, although we consider Led Zeppelin to be a rock band. The band wants to be labeled as an Rhythm and Blues band.)

At 8th grade, socializing is a common problem. You're not alone man. Look at those people who sits next to you, they're having the same issue otherwise, they'd be sitting next to their friends or buddies. I agree with what DM and WD said. It may be hard but its best to just approach people and talk to them. I would even suggest to try to befriend all your classmates. Simple gestures like saying "Hi" or "Hello" do wonders. Talk to people even if you don't like their appearance. You'll be surprised once they start talking and opening up. You said that you're more mature than most of your batchmates, put it to good use. Try not to laugh jokes that make fun of other people. Experience taught me to connect to people of different types. There are swans hidden in the midst - beautiful people you'll whose friendship you'll treasure. Now there's the fear of rejection. Get use to it. There's nothing wrong with it. The earlier you deal with that fear, the better you'll become. If people don't respond to your "HIs", it might be embarassing at first, move on and say hi to other people. Lastly, it's 8th grade. Since you're more mature, be sensitive. These may sound uncool to an 8th grader but trust me, they'll valuable assets. And you'll see their fruits in college and beyond.

Do any of you guys listen to Led Zeppelin songs? I grew up listening to their songs on cassette tapes. They're one of the best bands to ever play on stage. Their songs emits aura of passion, shouts of pain and beautiful take on human emotions. Plus great storytelling. It's a perfect collection of musical talents: Jimmy Page's super guitarplaying, Robert Plants Soul Rock voice, exemplary bass by John Paul Jones and the amazing drums by John Bonham. What are your favorite Led Zeppelin songs? D'Yer Make'r, Mine are Black Dog, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Immigrant Song, Tangerine, Whole Lotta Love, The Songs Remain the Same, Dazed and Confused, Ten Years Gone and, of course, Stairway to Heaven.

Some AT&T DSL Modems have built-in DHCP Server (the same function you see on the Linksys router). Power outages often reset the router's settings or messes up a router's firmware sometimes even completely destroying the router's NAT function turning it into a normal switch. Since your router still works except for the constant disconnect, it could be just some minor problems with the firmware on the router. Flash it and change the router's LAN IP to something other than the default 192.168.1.1, you may use 10.10.10.1 or the familiar 192.168.2.1. These are the most common workarounds with AT&T DSL connections.

There are several ways you can approach the implementation of your browser based game. You can use Flash or you can use old-school web browser games like Udominion. I'm not familiar with the technology needed but here are some of the things you may need: HTML and CSS Knowledge PHP (For attack calculations, randomzation of enemies, etc) Database - For accounts That's the basic. As for the time needed to complete the game, it depend on your proficiency. If you're a complete beginner, it may take more than 6 months (the first 3-4 months to learn the basics of HTML/CSS and PHP/MySQL).

Oh. That's really easy to fix. All you need ismalwarebytes. Download malwarebytes and perform a quick scan. Now if you see BSODs (Blue Screen of Death) during the whole process or your computer seemingly restarting..Ignore them. After the quickscan, remove all infected files. Restart your computer and perform the longer scan just to be sure. Yours is not an isolated case. I have dealt with hundreds of computers, from different clients, infected with this same type of malicious software claiming to be a valid anti-spyware. If you click on it, it will bring you to a page that asks you to purchase a software, asks for credit card info. Victim. It comes with names like Anti-Spyware 2010, Anti-Virus 2010, Spyware Terminator 2010. The names will most likely have a year extension..it used to be 2009, then 2010 came. I'm pretty sure new versions of these malware will have 2011, 2012, and so on.

Current Page Identifier How to identify a current page in html
linekill replied to iGuest's topic in Programming
From what I understand, you have a navigation menu and you want to make sure that it identifies the current page based on the design that you set for it. An example is when the font color changes from blue to red if it's the current page. The best way would be to create a class called "current-page" and put all CSS designs you want for the menu. If you have a menu like this: <ul> <li><a href="#">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#">Page 1</a></li> <li><a href="#">Page 2</a></li> <li><a href="#">Page 3</a></li></ul> You can insert (manually or dynamically) the class "current-page". If the visitor goes to Page 2, the code will then look like this: <ul> <li><a href="#">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#">Page 1</a></li> <li class="current-page"><a href="#">Page 2</a></li> <li><a href="#">Page 3</a></li></ul> Now with that, you can specify the design you want to be applied to that class with some CSS. Example .current-page a:link { color: red;} You can try that out. If you're using a CMS (WordPress, Joomla, etc), they have a pre-set class for current or active pages which you will have to use. If you're still confuse, post the source of the page or the link to your site so we can work it out. -
There's no life without death. We all have to die or what's the reason to live? I noticed, religions try to answer the mystery of death. Christianity and Islam are examples of religions offering life after death. Buddhism mentions of a cycle of birth and rebirth. And, every other religion mentions or has its own principles on death as much as on life. I don't believe in afterlife (I respect those who do ) and I think this is all that we have. The idea of seizing to exist (as me) after some few years makes life beautiful. It provides reasons to continue enjoying life and living it. There's fear, of course. It's fear that I failed to show love or my actions has/had negative effects on people around me. It's not the fear of death itself but the fear of its consequences. No more chance to show the love or perform deeds that may have positive effects on people around me. In the end, it's "Live. Love. Die."

Should A 2 1/2 Yr Old Start Schooling? Prep-Nursery Level
linekill replied to berryblitz's topic in General Discussion
I agree with Social Rathe. Social interaction should be the priority at that age. Knowledge, information and what-not are great but what is its use if the child lack social skills. Once your out there, it's social interaction first then knowledge second. Let the child play and learn to interact with other people outside of school (the institution). He/She will have ample time to learn everything when he/she starts attending to real schools (more than 20 years of school). One thing I recommend. Make sure you're child isn't subjected to too much computer games while growing up. Children should be playing in the rain, laughing and muddy. The beauty of innocence. -

Would You Ever Work For Someone For Free?
linekill replied to zanzibarjones's topic in Business Forum
If it's volunteer (social) works, why not? But if it's for profit like most listings for such positions, then it's a different story. I currently work for an online company and we hire on-the-job trainees. The company pay them minimum wages (with the health, insurance and other benefits). -
Ther are 3 possible reasons why your monitor is acting that way: Connection problem, video card problem or monitor problem. The best way to start is to secure the connection between the CPU and the Monitor. You can do this by unplugging the monitor cable and plugging it back it. (Cleaning the connectors with a vacuum cleaner may also help.) If the problem persists after doing this, it's time to properly isolate the problem. Isolation requires finding out which of the two hardware is causing the problem, the CPU's video card or the Monitor. You can easily test this out by connecting another monitor to the computer. If the test monitor works, then it must be the problem with the Acer monitor. If the test monitor doesn't work, probably a video card issue. I hope it's just some loose connections. It always not cheap to buy new pieces of computer hardware.
