  1. Yeah it is true that half or more of all sewage and water recycling plants dump that water (which is only 95% cleaned) in the ocean. But if they boil it, some of that might get cleaned out. Also just like with anything like sportywalk said, more efficient things can be produced. Just look at cars now. Ethonol as well as hybrids are very popular. @dreus = the only way to lose water from the earth is to send up a shuttle, and for it to like crash in space. Then the water would be in space. But if we were on a major water crisis we could always get ice from space or something. That would probably be the farthest of last resorts and i'm fairly confident it won't be needed.
  2. Well I would say the same with firefox. I have winrar, but I only use it to open rars. As far as I'm concerned that's all it should do. Firefox is great with stuff like that, and blocks up popups automatically. I would say you are probably just really lucky or have an antivirus program running in the background you didn't know about or you forgot about. I had my computer on the internet a month and I had about 20 viruses and a lot of spyware etc. Or maybe you have a router that has a firewall installed, but I don't think routers have antivirus things.
  3. Well as far as I know, the government can't make google hand over the information. But even so probably 80% of the U.S. uses google so they really want that information. I think it would just be a waste of their time, especially because the logs would be amazingly huge. I sometimes wonder why google even keeps that information, or if they will just start collecting information if somehow the government finds a way to do so. They might as well search in google and see if any bad sites popup. Can they even make google stop having those sights come up?
  4. Well for me when I click on the smilies button, it takes it about 30 seconds to even open the window with the smilies. Don't know if you can make it faster, but it would help me.
  5. There could be several problems. First off, go to My Computer (windows) and see if it says Drive D:. Drive D is the standard CD drive. Also, do you have any other cd drives? Please post all of the drive letters you see. Also, if you own your copy of windows, or the software that came with your computer, you could try repairing windows. Of course this means you need a working cd drive first which could be a problem if the dvd drive is the only cd type drive you have. Also, some wires may have come loose inside your computer. I had a problem one time where my cd drive wouldnt read music cds, but it read others just fine. So I inserted my disk (on startup but it really doesn't matter) and selected repair windows. After it finished my drive worked normally. A virus may have done something with your drivers. You could try reinstalling your drivers, or getting antivirus software such as Norton and downloading Spybot (spyware, adware etc). I am pretty sure you have to buy norton, but spybot and many other spyware or adware deleters are free. You could also look for a free anti virus software if you don't already have something.
  6. Because of its flexibility and many features, it has been wonderful in developers eyes. Also, because it can interact with other scripts and files, many developers are choosing this. This way they don't have to worry about a lot of scripts. I script in php myself, and it works great. I have never heard of Personal Home Page before though.
  7. Yeah well my dad is sort of a Mac freak, and somehow managed to get an emulated windows 2000 to run on his mac OS 9, or g4. I find it kind of funny because they didn't make virtual mac for windows. And just how Windows made Microsoft office etc for macs. So I really don't like macs and like to laugh at windows 2000 being emulated.
  8. Personally I use Game Maker. It's very easy to use, you can use some drag and drop features. You can load almost any image types, music types, etc. You can even put cutscenes, and visit webpages through it. You can use a trial version, which just has some features taken out, or pay $20 for the registered version. In the registered version you can have multiplayer support as well as some cool features such as a particle system. I am currently a registered Game Maker user. I find it very easy to use, and almost fully customizable with a built in programming language.
  9. I really don't think it will ever be possible to human-like AI. Humans have emotions that influence decisions, which computers will never have. Also the human brain would take up a lot of space if it was somehow ever put on a computer.
  10. Oh I thought it held more than one soda at a time. You could probably get a computer case custom made to have a seperate compartment below and sealed off from the rest of the computer. Then you could have like 4 sodas in there and maybe have a lever or something to make them come out. You never know.
  11. Well considering google has already seemed to make tons of money doing stuff like posting adds and taking some money, I don't think they would ever consider charging for things except for gmail. Heck, I would pay that just for gmail. Search engines can make money by charging companies to be included on the search engine, so I don't think it would ever even come to search engines charging for use.
  12. Oh wow. I would say The Giver. Its a VERY strange book about a controlled community. There is a giver and he holds all the painful memories and good memories of the past. Thats pretty much the basics. I could go into great detail, but if you want a very wierd book to read, read that one. Its also very short and easy to understand.
  13. It could just be a computer case, no inside parts. Could just be modded to dispense sodas and might not even turn on at all. What would really be cool is if it actually kept the mt dews cold.
  14. Project dogwaffle is a really great and free image editor and creator. It has the ability to do many things, and on the website there are many pictures of art done by people using dogwaffle. Myself, I cannot figure out how to make really great art, but it's fun to play around with and maybe make something cool. The interface can be a little tricky, and sometimes you need to already know what things are like alpha blending etc. There are many options to choose from, and you can even get fun little "mods" that people have made to enhance the features of this.
  15. Well first off what programming language will you be coding in? And what type of AI will this be for? If it's an rpg monster or something you have to make it smart enough to dodge, attack, and know when the right time to attack is. If its pong AI almost all you have to do is make it go for the ball. Please post if its a game, and if it is a game what type/kind of game it is. Pretty sure AI is only for games xD
