  1. The best way to get your site on top of google is CONTENT! Just like most of the people who replied say. Affiliate program also works. But content is still the best. Post a good/credible article and let people link back to you. I believe google rate sites by the number of "reliable" links to your site. Other
  2. If you say that it will be on Perpetual motion, then it goes without saying that you have already assume that the place where the Pentagram will be moving is a frictionless space and no other force is available to affect the movement of the pentagram. It is only on such space that your pentagram will keep moving without end. If this the case, any object (irregular or regular polygon) can also be set into perpetual motion with just a push.
  3. Cloning can only be done on the biological aspect of human beings (if we ever get to the point of cloning humans). With further studies (and years of successes and failures), the clone could have consciousness. It's may also be possible for the clone to have the same memory of the parent (original being). But the memory will be limited to that of the day the samples from the parent was taken. Well, that's possible. Clone, could have the memory and consciousness of human beings but how far will it go? The original is the original. No matter how close we get to getting the perfect clone, it will still be just a copy. And the soul will never be copied. I think it can't be copied.
  4. Robert Jordan's Wheel Of Time Book 6: The Lord of Chaos.
  5. Never liked Harry Potter myself. (Sorry Bishoujo but base on your name, we might get well with animes.)Of Fantasy writers, I personally love Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series (like plantacja). If you haven't read it, I recommend you do. 11 books so far and I'm on my 7th. The series will reach up to 12 books. Jordan just passed away but he already completed the plot of the final book and it will be completed by some author. Don't know who. Well, the world of WoT is very detailed. It's a great read. I can't explain everything other than tell you guys to read it. You'll love it. @Bishouko: I recommend you do try it. If you've been hooked to HP, i'm pretty much sure you'll get hook to this one, too.
  6. I was thinking the same as most of those who open this thread.. PSP = PlayStation Portable..It seems quite Interesting to learn that PSP is an alternative to PHP and ASP. I know nothing about programming myself but worth the checking.

English isn't the primary language of most people and I'm one of those. But I still think that it's best to write as best as you can when posting in forums. It's a way to show respect to other posters. I agree with Tetraca. It's acceptable to write shortcust/abbreviations on chatrooms and gamerooms as it's real-time. Community forums, on the other hand is different. Each of us are given enough time to write clear and concise replies/posts. (You can even write a single post whole day!)As I mentioned, it's a matter of showing respect.
  9. Religion, is how we try to connect our reality to those beyond our understanding. It could be true that each of us has its own way of connecting. Hence, each has its own religion. But for the most part, people has common ways. Prayer is one of the greatest examples. You are certainly right when you said that people want to find ways to believe what they want to. It could be for a sense of ownership or of being in control of what we are and what we can be.
  10. You'll need PHP MySQL db to make something like that. Well, you can actually do it using html but it will take too much of your time to add a new entry to the list.
  11. Tell her. It's best to spill it out. Feelings like the one you have comes just a few times in a lifetime. I would not waste the feeling by supressing it. You don't have to worry with being dumped. It's part of the risk but isn't it worth it rather than dreaming your life/feelings away? Take the risk and enjoy the consequences!
  12. I'm working on a tech support center for a networking company. That's actually all I do to earn money, as of this moment. An interesting job where you get to interact with people from different parts of the world. Most of which, are in there worst shape. (Shouting and cursing on a non-working product but really is working and was just messed up. Sometimes, though, it really is not working.) It's fun. And I get to learn a lot about computers. By the way, I'm a chemistry major and graduated about a year and half ago. Got sick of chemicals so I plunged myself into computers to learn something new. In the next months, maybe, I'll start pursuing chemistry back. Life is work. So, it's best to work on something you enjoy.
  13. Well, I have 2 best writers though different genres. Classics? The best writer would be Leo Tolstoy. I've read War and Peace. If you haven't read it yet. It's about Napoleon's conquest to conquer the whole of Russia. And the story is about the Russian people from nobles down to the commoner. Different lives affected by the war. The scope is so big, and it's really a BIG read. (LoL). You'll see the power of Tolstoy on how he tied the plot in the end. I really love this book and the author. Fantasy? Well, aside from Tolkien, there is Jordan (Gob bless both souls). Currently reading Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. It's a 12-book series and is currently at its 11th release. The 12th book will be released someday, hopefully not later than 2009. (There will be delays, for sure, as Jordan just passed away last Sept 16.) The book's main plot, however, was alreadty finished. Wheel of Time is about a prophecy of a so-called Dragon that will fight the Dark Lord on the Last Battle. Rand al Thor is the destined Dragon Reborn and this is the story of his world in preparation to the coming of the Dark One. Jordan has a talent for creating real characters (with strong points and weaknesses), a plot twist you'll never expect and the power of telling the story that makes the events logical and entertaining. Other Authors I like are: Sci Fi : Ray BradburyWar: Sebastian FaulksFantasy: David Eddings, Tolkien, King, Action: Eric Lustbader, Clancy
  14. I learned CSS same with most of these guys.. Viewing source code and checking how minor changes affects the total layout of the site. It's also best to tweak and play with free XHTML/CSS templates on the net. You'll learn many things. specially the hidden secrets..I still am trying to learn more.. I've been studying it for almost 3 months now.. and i have some grasp of its basics.. it may take many more months for me to start a template from scratch.. but it's worth it.. and it's pretty challenging...I've read most tutorials at w3schools.. I also bumped into a 2001 release web design book. It's an old book considering the fast-paced growth of the technology. However, there are good points in the book (navigation, breadcrumb trail, functionality, basic layout, positioning, etc...) that I think are 'standard' of the net.
  15. AHA!I've had my appendix removed due to infection when I was just 13 years old. I was warned by the surgeon that i'll be prone to stomach ulcer after surgery. Maybe that's true, maybe not. It may seem useless when you grow up but I think, (i've heard it somewhere and not sure) that the appendix stores some hormones or something that help us at ages 0-6 years. After that age, it becomes useless. Well, maybe.
  16. Terrorism will never be stopped by another, equivalent use of force. Just look at what happened in Iraq and with Al Qaeda. US did oust Sadam but what's happening now? Death toll on the rise and terrorist retaliations beyond the control of the so-called "defenders of democracy". Well, freedom has its price and this could be the price the Iraqis are paying for their freedom. (Freedom based on the western culture point of view.) I totally agree with ShadowX. Our standards may suggest that US is the freedom fighter, but what of the standards lived by extremist militants? They have their own. War, terrorism, etc. will never have ends. We may get closer to achieving it, but it will never be reached. And I believe, the best to way to be near it is to start respecting people near us.
  17. I understand your concern. It's really unfair but I guess, the other countries where the "latests" are released serves as a testing ground. Example of which is the Beta test of Stracraft 2. It was only held in Korea. Lucky Koreans! I'm not sure of the reasons companies are doing that but it's unfair. Marketing strategy, perhaps. To force consumers outside the territory of released to order the product online. They're slowly converting the market into an online Agora. It's really frustrating. As for the Naruto movie releases, same goes here. It wasn't even released in my country. Good to have the fansubs available online. This goes to other animes. We always end up with fansubs instead of the real deal. Maybe it takes time to process franchise or licensing. I don't know. Other holywood movies, though, are released in time here. Always the same, or a week or 2 off, as the worldwide premier. And just a $1.00 per ticket. LoL
  18. What a crazy but interesting "fictional" idea. The earth is flat and round at the same time. Mainly round and flattened poles. That's just it. A conspiracy? LoL. Maybe. So the conspiracy started during the early astronomers (Brahe, Copernicus, etc.) ? And the new authorities went on with that conspiracy? FOr what? To cover something beyond the Ice Wall?
  19. I'd agree with TikiPrincess. The best gift you can give her is something (either a thing or not) that we'll surprise her. Bake her a cake or prepare a breakfast for her. I'm not sure if most girls like this idea. But wake her up and treat her like a princess. That surely would work. Or sing something for her. As for something.. a bracelet/necklace (not those fancy ones) should be enough. It lasts long and I'm sure will be treasured.Well, you know her better than us so you should know what to do and give her. Best of lucks.
  20. I've used Joomla, Mambo, wordpress and text pattern but non work for me. My need is just a simple tool where I can login and publish an article. Those CMS didn't work the way I wanted to. Then I found this really interesting CMS, sNews . It only contains 4 files (index.php, snews.php, style.css and .htaccess). Very surpirising. It can manage a whole website with just those files. What are the advantages? 1. You can easily apply your own template on the site, or even port existing templates. (For my Xisto site, I ported a wordpress theme. And I only have knowledge with html and CSS..and very little PHP knowledge) 2. It complies with the latest web standards. 3. It creates search engine friendly URL's. 4. A very active support forum. 5. You don't have to worry about terms you normally encounter with CMS's. 6. Database-driven for fast page loading. 7. You can use full CMS layouts. Disadvantages? (Of course, there are. Nothing's perfect.) 1. Manual installation. (You have to access PHPmyAdmin and manually setup the SQL query.) 2. Requires mod_rewrite. (This is a problem if you are on a free webhosting plan as most free hosts has it disabled. Not a problem with us Xisto users. 3. You should at least, know something about html/css and few PHP. How does it work? hmm. I still don't understand how. (I'm a chemist not a programmer. LoL). As you can see, there is no "login.php" file, search.php or the files that we normally encounter with other CMS but when you click on the "login" link, the engine/processor file (snews.php), will automatically create the page and send it to you. I'm still amaze by this CMS. You can try it too. Hehehe.
  21. Yes, there is. After creating the subdomain, upload the Wordpress (files) on the root folder of the subdomain. And install it from there. I'm not familiar with databases, but I guess you have to create a database for the WP subdomain installation. So, if you have a subdomain. (subdomain.domain.com). Upload all files to that domain (via FTP or browser). Install wordpress by accessing the subdomain. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or something like it and follow the installation procedure. When completed, the owner of that WP-blog can login at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. If there are errors/comments/questions on the procedure. Please let me know. I'm not a web professional, just thinking that it's possible base on experiences.
  22. It would be best if you can give us a brief overview of the anime. You may be referring to Ikyu-san. You can google his face.
  23. @leiaah: hehehe. what a question. well, there isn't really that big a difference except the medium and history. LoL. Both are great, though. Both are the best. Both are my life? heheheA hard choice for an anime/manga fanatic. But gotta stick to the foundation so I chose "manga"! I've read so many manga and watched too many animes. But I would live with just ink and paper. Manga Forever. hehehehe.
  24. I've seen the trailer of this movie. The main character is Jodie Foster who turned into a vigilante after her her was killed by an attack. Her guy, I believe, is the same guy who is playing Sayeed in the hit TV series Lost. Still waiting for this movie to be shown here in my country, though.
