  1. If you have a web accelerator or are caching your pages in any way, you need to turn it off for Xisto. I had the same problem with the google web accelerator, that's just one thing anyways, you also need to make sure cookies are enabled as stated above. Hope this helps.
  2. The reason wars are fought because of religion is because the leaders just want to go to war, they would just as easily find another reason to go to war if there was no reason, but the leaders back during the crusades basically controlled everyone because they were the religious leaders as well. The reason the crusades happened is because the followers never actually understood their faith and blindly followed the religious leader thinking they would be saved by doing what they said. There may be a couple religions, such as the ones terrorists harbor, that tell you to fight and kill, but these are people who just want a reason to fight and kill people, they would still do it without a religion.Most religions give people high standards to live by so that they don't just steal and hurt things when they feel like it.
  3. Wow, that's very impressive! I didn't try the game, mainly due to time constraints, but entering a contest like that in 2 days time is incredible. I entered a contest last year with 8 months, and I got something with a little less quality than your game . Glad you can stay focused, unfortunatly, I've been working on a 2 hour project for the past 4 weeks. Well, keep up the good work and good luck on the rest of your games!
  4. Size: 760x100 Theme: Light with excitement Render: Prefferably yes, but it's not needed Render Theme: Quidditch Color: Orange, dark grey/brown Text: 3D-quidditch Other effects: smooth, not really sure Other info: I'm not really sure what exactly I want, I really just want something that fits my website. I'd like it to match the current website theme. Website: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Thank you for considering making this banner. If you wish you may put your name in the corner or I will make sure to give credit in the footer of the webpage and in the news and latest news sections. I just got one of my friends to make me a cool, banner, thank you for your interest though.
  5. For the DVD burner, I believe it's 8x, but I don't really plan on burning DVDs anyways so it doesn't matter for me, that just came standard.As for the 32-bit 64-bit thing, I have heard too that 32-bit OSes can only address around 3.4 or somewhere around there GB of memory; however, I plan on installing one or 2 64-bit OSes on my system so it's all good there.For sony, I have checked it out, but they don't offer any laptops with 640GB of HDD, which is something I really don't want to give up, and even without the 640GB, the rest of the hardware is still lower than than what I'm getting on this setup.An also for the tablet PCs, I have been seriously looking at those for college; however, i've been wanting a gaming computer for ages and this will be the first time I'll get one so i'm going to sacrifice the tablet for the games; however, I'm looking at selling my current computer stuff to afford another tablet PC with some lower specs from ebay or something for college, so I'll have one laptop for school and one for everything else.EDIT: Thank you for all your advise, it definitly solidified my views on this laptop. I just bought it today and even with a no-glare screen (the option suddenly showed up today, yay!). So thank you everyone for all your input!
  6. Well, I suppose if it's made of bullet proof 6-12 inch glass I'd be okay with it since the biggest danger to the glass would be landing and turbulence. Its really like using weak glass that would scare me, but it would be extremely cool to be in a glass plane; however, I doubt they would make glass planes just because of how impracticle it is. You can't just screw a piece of glass to the airplane, the airplane would have to be blown into one glass plane at the same time just because of the qualities of glass.
  7. Well, I checked out ASUS, and they have some good prices; however, I don't want to back out of 640GB of harddrive space. As for the DVD RW drive, I don't know, but I don't use my disk drive for burning that often anyways.Also, for building a desktop, I know I can build, or even buy one for half the price with twice the hardware, but I need a laptop because I move around so much, it's impossible for me to be happy with a desktop these days.
  8. Opaque: I checked toshiba, they don't quite offer the hardware I'm looking for even in a higher price range, but I still appreciate the suggestions.Kobra: .. I hope your kidding Dre: I actually upped the battery, default is 6-cell and 9-cell is the biggest and I got two of them, but even then I normally don't plan on using it off the cable anyways, but there are times when I want to.Saint_Micheal: Yea, I was looking for an XPS style laptop, but they were too expensive so I built an insperon which actuallly proved to be cheaper with more hardware in it, I never could get the 640GB HDD in the xps laptops, especially for $2500. I never thought about Newegg, but when I went to check, they didn't offer anything over 320GB HDD and that's one thing I'm not going to back down on :(Thingcubed: I checked that site out, it's kind of neat, but it doesn't offer anything on the level of this for the same price unfortunatlyThank you everyone for your replies, I am still open for more though, I may make my decision by this weekend.
  9. Well, my mom is buying me a graduation laptop and my budget is about $2500. This is the laptop I've found to be the biggest bang for the buck, but as I'm not great at this stuff I figured I'd ask for help. The speed and memory of the laptop is pretty much set at the speed it's at (2.5GB L2 6MB, 4 GB RAM, 640GB HDD). Also I don't want to lose bluetooth either. So, if you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know, if you find better offers for the same machine I'd be happy to know about them as well. Thank you for your time!
  10. First, for Daniela: I honestly hate texting/talking on the phone and only do it because girls start the conversation, I feel it takes too much time, especially texting, when you want to have a conversation you should just call him (I seem to not feel the same for online conversations, but i'm a computer geek, so it may differ with him, but I feel online is fine because I can chat so much faster and easier). I've always felt that I'd be better off without my phone just because I don't like sending 50 texts a minute; however, occasionally, there are guys who do like this, such as my brother.Also, try not to get mad at him, I can tell you from expierence, us guys don't get suttle hints in any way, shape, or form. You have to be pretty blunt for us to realize what your trying to say.As for you Giselle: If you don't think you love him back, then don't tell him you do. Love is a very, very big word and shouldn't be used lightly. You need to talk to him about how you feel about him, it may be awkward and hard, but it'll be well worth it if you discuss your feelings thoroughly so you know where each other stands. As for the long distance part, I've always felt that they were worthless just because you can't ever really get to know a person unless you are with them, but I s'pose it's happened before, so I don't know.Good luck to both of you, but remember, that almost nobody finds that "one" while they are under the age of 20, and it's even harder when your still a minor, so don't be too bummed if it doesn't work, you have many years ahead of you, don't feel rushed or pressured to have a boyfriend.
  11. Wow, that's amazing, it's one thing for the deer to make it out that far, but it's a completely different thing for the deer to have survived being out there that far. I'd have to go with alex's explanation. It is most likely the deer either went for a swim, or got scared and swam away and then got lost.
  12. thanks jlhaslip, I didn't really know how to do that part so you saved me a ton of time. Alex, I hope all this works for you, let me know if you need anything else.
  13. I'm sorry Paver, but what you are describing isn't Christianity. Christianity is the belief that Jesus, the son of God, came to Earth to live a perfect life so he can be the ultimate sacrifice for us and forgive us of our sins. To be a Christian, you not only believe this, but you follow the path that Jesus set for us. He tells us that there will be times when people don't like what we say and will be hurt by our actions, but it's not because we sinned. I'm sure Jesus made tons of people mad when he was down here (why else would they have crucified him?); however, he lived a sinless life.I myself wouldn't call myself a christian really because people label christians a certain way that doesn't describe someone who follows Jesus, so in reality I'm a Jesus-freak, I'm someone who goes by what the Bible says, not what my pastor or anybody else says, but what I find that Jesus told me what to do.
  14. Yes, for the html tags you can either do echo "<your tag>" or ?><your tag><?php And for the reset button, I'll get to work on that next week, this weekend I'm completely booked and can't do anything, but roof a house i'm afraid; however, I will be sure to get it to you by Tuesday Morning.
  15. Alright, thank you very much, at least I know what's wrong now. I will try and figure something out then. Thanks again!
  16. Hi, I'm trying to build an online game and figured the easiest way to do the server list would be to make a mySQL database for it; however, I use the con() command on the IP i get from pinging my website and I always get an abnormal program termination; however, it will work with the mySQL on my own machine. The code is below: #include <iostream>#include <iomanip>#include <mysql++>#include "pass.h"//holds my password (i program at school)int main(void){ Connection con("t3jem3_test","64.69.46.210","t3jem3_t3jem",pass); Query query = con.query(); query << "SELECT * FROM test"; Result res = query.store(); Result::iterator i; Row row; for(i = res.begin(); i!=res.end(); i++) { row = *i; cout << setw(6) << row["id"] << setw(10) << row["sname"] << endl; } ::Sleep(5000); return 0;} This code was taken almost straight out of my multiplayer games programming book. Other vital info: The site my database is hosted on it right here at Xisto (t3jem.trap17.com). Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!
  17. Yes, you can make it centered using the <center> tag. I don't know how it would look centered (I don't think it'd be all that pretty), but it will work.
  18. windows 2000 was actually a stable system, if I had it I might even be dual booting that instead of XP just for gaming purposes. Vistas doesn't make a good computer, it makes a good computer a bad one, even when i get my new laptop that will more than likely come preinstalled with Vista I will install XP on it so I can fully utilize the machine the way it's supposed to. If I want aero, I've got Ubuntu to do the sweet affects.
  19. This is ridiculus. I'm not switching over to Vista, it is way to bloated and offers very little support for the things I need. I'm not going to go buy new software and hardware so I can get a worse OS than the one I currently have. If microsoft truelly supported the customer they would keep XP support because once the support dies then any new security holes can't be fixed and I'm sure more than half the market of windows users are still using XP, this will cause major security issues. Microsoft needs to start thinking about the customer and not the stock broker, don't they realize that pleasing the customer will ultimatly please the stock broker?When it comes to my next upgrade I'm still using XP and if it comes down to it, i'll just have to make a complete switch to Ubuntu. When a 98% or above win emulator comes out for linux, that's what's happening anyways.
  20. Alright, here it is. Hope this works out for you! Again, won't check up on this thread after this post, so let em know if you need anything more. <style type="text/css">input{border: 1px #999999 solid;}textarea{border: 1px #999999 solid;}</style><?php$filename = 'this.php';//name of this file$sendmail = 'yourmail@mail.com';//your email address$frommail = 'from@mail.com';//address the mail wants to be from$a = $_GET['a'];$filename = $filename."?a=1";if($a != 1)//if not yet submitted{echo "<form action=$filename method='post'>";echo "Username<br><input style='strong' size=32 type='text' name='username' value='guest' /><br>";echo "Password<br><input size=32 type='password' name='password'/><br>";echo "Title<font color='red'> (we will add \"[request_ebook]\" in the title automatically)<br><input size=100 type='text' name='title'/>required</font><br>";echo "Author<br><input size=32 type='text' name='author'/><br>";echo "Language<br><input type='radio' name='language' value='none' checked>None";echo "<input type='radio' name='language' value='english'>English";echo "<input type='radio' name='language' value='chinese'>Chinese";echo "<br>Pages<br><input type='text' size=32 name='pages' />";echo "<br>Publisher<br><input type='text' size=32 name='publisher' />";echo "<br>ISBN<br><input type='text' size=32 name='isbn' />";echo "<br>Release date<br><input type='text' size=32 name='release' />";echo "<br>Small book cover image URL<br><input type='text' size=100 name='smallcover' />";echo "<br>Large book cover image URL<br><input type='text' size=100 name='largecover' />";echo "<br>Catagory/Tag<br>";echo "<select name='category'><option value='ebook'>ebook</option></select>";//add more options, I don't know all the options you wantecho "<select name='tag'><option value='none'>none</option></select>";//add more options, I don't know all the options you wantecho "<br>Introduction: <font color='red'>Required!   21. This sounds like a great idea; however, I could see some "googlebombs" coming from this or for this site "wikibombs", lol. Yea, but if google adopted this it would make it all that much better, but the voting system needs to be secure to prevent one person from killing all the search queries with his own website.
  22. Alright, you have errors in these two pieces of code. In the first, your if statements aren't typed right. Instead of "!==" it needs to be "!=". An if statement also goes in the format if(*argument*){do something}else{do something}. For example if($password == 'hi'){.. wrong password..}else{ if($password != 'hi') //does the same as an else just showing the not equal operator { right password }} The next error comes in your form, but it's an easy mistake. Just fix the form tag to " <form action='password.php' method='post'>". This will post your data to your password.php file so that the php code can retrieve the data. Hope this helps
  23. I saw a thing about this a few months ago, it's pretty sweet, but it's built for businesses right now. Perhaps when I get bluetooth in all my devices and microsoft makes a decent operating system that will work with it I just may get it for the multimedia factor, but until then, I'm just going to stick with my multimonitors and big screen tv.
  24. Oh, I actually have a script like that, i'll modify it for your needs and put up shortly <?php$filename = 'this.php';//name of this file$sendmail = 'yourmail@mail.com';//your email address$frommail = 'from@mail.com';//address the mail wants to be from$a = $_GET['a'];$filename = $filename."?a=1";if($a != 1)//if not yet submitted{echo "<form action=$filename method='post'>";echo "Username<br><input size=32 type='text' name='username' value='guest' /><br>";echo "Password<br><input size=32 type='password' name='password'/><br>";echo "Title<font color='red'> (we will add \"[request_ebook]\" in the title automatically)<br><input size=100 type='text' name='title'/>required</font><br>";echo "Author<br><input size=32 type='text' name='author'/><br>";echo "Language<br><input type='radio' name='language' value='none' checked>None";echo "<input type='radio' name='language' value='english'>English";echo "<input type='radio' name='language' value='chinese'>Chinese";echo "<br>Pages<br><input type='text' size=32 name='pages' />";echo "<br>Publisher<br><input type='text' size=32 name='publisher' />";echo "<br>ISBN<br><input type='text' size=32 name='isbn' />";echo "<br>Release date<br><input type='text' size=32 name='release' />";echo "<br>Small book cover image URL<br><input type='text' size=100 name='smallcover' />";echo "<br>Large book cover image URL<br><input type='text' size=100 name='largecover' />";echo "<br>Catagory/Tag<br>";echo "<select name='category'><option value='ebook'>ebook</option></select>";//add more options, I don't know all the options you wantecho "<select name='tag'><option value='none'>none</option></select>";//add more options, I don't know all the options you wantecho "<p><input type='submit' value='Submit'/>";echo "</form>";}else//otherwise do this{ $email = htmlentities($_POST['email']); $to = "quid3d@hotmail.com"; // To send HTML mail, the Content-type header must be set $headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . Just fill in the variables at the top with the values you need. If you have any questions about it feel free to PM me, I won't be checking up on this thread later. Hope this is what you were looking for
  25. Well, I'll have to say google.com, but that's a given. I also revist klove.com (my real radio doesn't work half the time). Another site I'll visit alot is t3jem.trap17.com/cpanel (, gotta check my traffic, lol). Gmail.com is also a big one; however, I also use links to get there not type it in. I also visit the youth forums of my church as well too, but I don't think I can give that out. And I tend to just browse flash games, i'll revisit some flash games online, but that's about it.
