  1. IIRC, MSN used to have that type of service for users that used both Hotmail (or Windows Live Hotmail is it is now) and MSN (Windows Live) Messenger. It was a free service initially, from what I recall, but currently its a small surcharge per SMS sent to the user notifying and/or sending them a email directly to their mobile phone through SMS.
  2. Hadnt tried it yet either, although I had used the earlier Firefox versions. If it does go by what is said, I'd probably downgrade back to a earlier version of Firefox untill the issues with Firefox 3 is sorted out.
  3. I'd be interested to see how its funded, if the shocker of a logo is anything to go by (Personally I hope for their sake that the current London olympics logo is only a interim logo). The olympics in Sydney may have had organisational issues prior to the event, yet Sydney put out a great show and showcased Australia to the World. I'm sure London can put things together when their time comes around, showcasing not only the olympics, but their country in general as well.
  4. Gefore 8800gtx for me. Was around 600 at the time considering it was retailing for around 700 or so. I wont be suprised if it goes half price within a year or so, considering computers and even equipment update so very quickly. Many people I know complain at times when they get a new computer, suddenly a newer, superior processor is already out on retail sale.
  5. Dont wash the car too often either, although at least it rains once a week or so for a good wash. Even when I do wash the car, its usually a rinse, use a rug with the appropriate materials put in, wipe with rug, rinse again, then wipe with fresh rug.
  6. If there are to be any signs of life on another planet. I would believe that the lifeforms would be completely different to us, considering the different gravity, and living conditions on another planet. For example, the moon, instead of walking you jump. Other planets, may have varied temperatures as another example, or there may be lack of (or no) air on a particular planet, yet a lifeform may have other uses to stay alive.
  7. My guess is that Digg is already known by Google, when google indexes a site, they also check if the site is linked to any known sites that are already indexed into the google search engine. A relative of mine, however owned a massage business which had a website, it struggled initially, but eventually got it linked through a well known employer's site that is already indexed through google, and the parent site was in the top half of the google results when you type in the specific search term related to the massage business.
  8. Interesting how they are issues in the UK in regard to free email providers. Even Hotmail iirc, has their own "name@hotmail.co.uk" extension. To my knowledge, .co.uk is the only country specific, localised @ Hotmail (or Windows Live Hotmail, as its now known worldwide).
  9. Yes, have to agree Nike has got most potential and/or aspiring future professional basketball players to get their shoes. Even their marketing campaigns back in the past, especially marketing the likes of Michael Jordan, Shaq and so forth at some point to promote their products, even having shoes named after many great NBA players.
  10. Other theories is that once people die, they may be reincarnated as another animal. I've read this out of various books, and/or even some people from various religions think of the same view. But I wont go into religion here. Even reincarnated as another human with a different brain, interests and so forth is also a theory.
  11. Have to say its still a long way before Middle East does see any peace. There has been attempts for either to get along, but of course suicide bombers and the radicals on both sides tend to ruin that process. As for the homeland disputes, whether Israel took the land away from palenstine or so, I dont know much about, so I'll stay out of that one.
  12. Invasion of Privacy. That depends if you put your photos and so forth in the public domain, for example if you enabled your myspace profile for everyone to read and see, then thats not a invasion of privacy. You've released your photos and your blog out to the public domain. However, if you enabled your myspace blog to friends or invite only. Then they have a point, since access to the blog and/or photo sites are only to be restricted to your friends and/or site administrators that can look at it. Unauthorised eyes on a "private" blog, however may have a case of "invasion of privacy".
  13. Most forms of indoor sport during my time. Basketball, indoor cricket, indoor soccer, indoor volleyball and so forth. Even had a go at mixed netball, even though i was completely hopeless at Netball, just a average player at Volleyball/Soccer, and personally did better at Basketball. Considering I've played basketball beforehand and more than the other sports.
  14. Have played Sims before, but I hadnt played it for a while. Good to see some mods for it coming out, and the recent expansions and/or attempts to portray various characters from popular sitcoms, cartoons or TV reality shows "Friends", "The Simpsons", various "Survivor" series and so forth.
  15. Paypal is a good option for most retailers, however I have to agree with the above post that Paypal is something NOT to be depended on as a primary source of payment for reasons stated by previous posters. Although, yes having worked with a retailer that also used Ebay and Paypal as another source of sales, it is indeed a good option. However, it can be difficult to make money out of it, especially for retailers that outsource their products from warehouses or source consumables/products direct from the manufacturer, etc.
  16. Just tried a bit of bowls the other day. Whilst fun, its something I probably wouldnt like to do in the long term. Seems okay for a social day together with friends and/or family, or a work and/or organisational gathering as well after a few beers, drink and food.
  17. Have to agree that Age should not be a limit in friendships, considering many school leavers do eventually work with older people in university, and also in the workplace eventually. Friendships do form out of people's common interests in the workplace and/or uni, and people grow closer together similar to a 2nd family. But yes, friends in a similar age range are more likely to have common interests. a 40 year old doing skateboarding with a bunch of teenagers will look kinda weird tbh, unless if he was a professional or well known in the sport.
  18. Have to agree, not a bad looking chick. But have to admit I havent heard much of her music yet. Looking forward to hearing it and deciding whether i like it or not from there.
  19. Have to say an interesting essay is how hard it is to gain respect of someone that you may trust, or someone and/or a group of people that may have done so much for the work place and/or community, and how easy it may seem to lose it just as quickly by doing something wrong. Sure people do make mistakes, but if its a mistake that is blantant and/or have repurcussions, of course the respect factor is in risk of going down very quickly.
  20. The puzzle games, or even the tetris like games (not tetris itself) but its like match 4 of the same color and they'll dissapear are indeed very addictive. MSN messenger has a few of their games installed into the PM system, and you can play against a friend that is on your MSN list. But Tetris, yes was addictive back then and can be addictive now if you get right into it!
  21. Not too bad for a active community and web provider that hasnt been around that long as their rivals. Great work to Trap 17 as always, and hopefully you guys will be on top eventually.
  22. Democracy is a good thing, although I do tend to agree it isnt a full democracy. In many countries around the world, voters are pretty much given full rights on who to vote for to lead their nation for a set term. Thus leading to debates between candidates, and in most cases it ends up 1 v 1 with the winner usually the one that makes a convincing case, or "the best straggler" as many would say, since Politicians do tend to backflip on promises or suggestions and the like some time after they get elected in, thus the loss of faith in many politicians from people around the world.
  23. Age doesnt matter in RPGs, but I have to agree unfortunately u will meet a number of immature people of all ages in RPGs, granted older people are more nice, but with few exceptions, and many kids are immature but with few exceptions. I'm sure that some may think it's the reverse of the statement that I've just posted. Playing mainly WoW of late, there has been the factions debate, raiding and pvp debates and so forth, esp with the "raiders are for adults" and "pvp is for kids" comments that flys around sometimes.
  24. Up there with the simple excuses used during the school days.. such as"The Dog ate it""I accidently flushed it down the toilet""I threw it in the bin by mistake""The rain made it wet""I left it on the floor and mum accidently vaccumed on it"
  25. I'd also be interested to see how Firefox 3 handles Macromedia (err Adobe) Flash games whilst browsing other windows at the same time. I'm hoping it would be little to no problems, considering the occasional freezing issues that may happen in Firefox 2.
