  1. 72 degree here today, actually worked in the yard some today!sheepdog, the worm bin is made from a single sheet of 5/8 plywood and an 8 foot 2x4. The top and bottom are 2ft x 4ft and the 2x4 goes in the corners to brace it.I got the plans off the net and I'll be happy to look them up if you're interested. I had all the stuff already so it was basically free for me.
  2. RS, maybe I can help...I owned my own exhaust shop for 6 years. (Don't Ask!)The flex tube is a section up close to the engine that is made of braided stainless steel. It's designed to "give" when the car encounters vibrations to keep from possibly breaking the exhaust somewhere else. Unfortunately, it is also usually the first place to break! The pop can and the wire deal won't work here because the exhaust is still very hot at that point in the exhaust pipe and it'll burn through that lighweight aluminum in a week or so. I'm thinking that a good exhaust man can bend a short piece of pipe and weld in there for around $30-40 Dollars, if you can get them to do it. They would much rather sell you the part....The exhaust leak could be what's causing the car to sputter, I've seen it happen dozens of times. You won't know till you get the exhaust fixed. And yes, you can repair the shock mount with some welding, just leave yourself some way to mount a new shock! Don't weld the shock to the car for obvious reasons.Hope that helps.
  3. I was never able to catch ping-o-matic up and running, every time I went there it was down. Ipings has been up every time except once and pingoat is pretty reliable as well. They all three basically accomplish the same thing.I've noticed that although most of my stuff doesn't go over the top at digg, I do get a boost from it when I use it. Two other social bookmarking sites I use are propeller and zimbio. All three of these has made it to the first page of google in my narrow niche.
  4. This time of year is crazy here in the carolina's. It gets down to 25 degrees at night and then it's 65 degrees the next day! My mother used to say that was the best time of the year to catch cold because of the temperature extremes!Anyhow, I opened the lid on my worm bin today to let it warm up a bit after a brutally cold night and noticed that I have small plants germinating inside! Maybe I found a good place to start my vegetables for the spring garden!I realize there are people here from all over the world, different climates and such, but is anyone else starting their garden yet?I noticed my garlic bulbs are starting to shoot up out of the ground so spring can't be far behind!Steve
  5. I've got a LARGE Red mixed breed dog and 10 cats, mostly solid white.Rusty has a couple of the cats that he really likes to play with but he loves to chase them all as his favorite game. He's got a bit of cat in him as well, sometimes when i pet him he has this low growl that sounds for all the world like he's purring <_<I've never been able to obedience train the big baby because for all his size, he still cowers when you tell him no. But he seems to understand when I just talk to him so we get along pretty good!
  6. Another month has passed and I've really got the fever! It was in the 60's (F) here today and should be close to 70 tomorrow! Time to get the tiller and the mower out and service them and start thinking about starting some seeds inside to transplant out. Man, I can't wait!
  7. I have a 1989 Nissan 300zx that I drive to work and back, try to drive my mothers buick if I can to keep the miles off of it, but it gets pretty good gas mileage if you can resist the urge to speed! <_<I also have a 1969 Ford F-100 pickup that I'm restoring slowly but it's mostly a work truck when I can afford to haul something in it. It has a 390 cubic inch engine with a 4 barrel carb so I have to plan my trips!
  8. 10 million affiliates all selling the same thing....Please tell us how you expect to make any money offering the same thing that 10 million other people are selling??I'd much rather find an affiliate product in a niche with only a few thousand competitors. Do some "long tail" keyword research and find some products to sell to a few people.I reached the first page of google for something I'd never heard of before. Now it's one of my favorite hobbies!Nothing like making money doing something you enjoy!
  9. The best site to make money on is YOURS!Find something you know about and either sell an affiliate product or come up with a report or product of your own and then promote it.All these scam sites that pay you to take surveys or pay you .000001 cent for every email you read are all a bunch of crap.
  10. Is the Gimp software compatible with Photoshop?I'm running a trial version of Photoshop and I'll have to buy something soon, just wondering if Gimp can use the same file types and do most of the same things as Photoshop?Steve
  11. I just go to http://digg.com/ and login and then add my stuff or my blogs. They'll ask you for the name, the URL, and a brief description. Have a short informative description written out before you get there because that is what will show up in the search engines as the description. If you have a blog, go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and/or http://www.pingoat.com/ and ping it to technorati and about 25 other places at the same time! This gets the word out and also triggers the searchbots to come and have a look. I put together a site the other night and did this and then went to digg and added it and by the time I checked the next day the site and the digg description were both already rated by google! Steve
  12. That's definitely a "mini-guide" ! It's actually quite a bit more involved than that, but it can work out well if you take the time to find a reputable supplier. The secret in drop-shipping is to find someone at the supplier that you can contact by phone and establish a working relationship with. If they don't have a "live" help desk, that's a red flag and you should keep looking.I'm actually doing a lot of research into this right now, so keep me posted on how it works out for you.Steve
  13. I set up the PHPBB on my site. All you have to do is go to the cPanel and click (double click?) on the PHPBB and then follow the instructions. If you want it in a separate directory and not in the root for the site, you will have to give it a name. (i.e. xxxxxx.trap17.com/forum) Just don't use the "/" when filling in the box where it asks for it.The system will set it up for you, just be sure and write down the names of the files it creates and email them to yourself for reference. Then you just go to xxxxxx.trap17.com/forum/admin.php or whatever it says and start managing your forum.Steve
  14. Another possibility would be to use a good search tool and see what the people who are searching for Chantelle Paige are searching for other than just "Chantelle Paige".I don't know who CP is but lets assume an actor. People could be searching for "CP's latest movie" or "CP as Joe Blow in The Shooters" or "CP oscar nomination".....It's better to come up first in the search for a lesser used search term than to be buried on page 6.For example, I found a hobby that I like and some items to sell to these guys. I could never come up first for the hobby itself but as luck would have it the second most popular search term gets almost as many searches each day with a lot less competition. I set up a small website last night and looked this afternoon and I'm on page one of google search. The site itself can still be a general fan site for Chantelle Paige, just get some pages in there that are keyed to specific search terms.
  15. The best advertising for your site is your own. Find something to sell like an affiliate product. I do quite well with them on my niche sites.Pop-ups, Pop-unders, Banners, just aggravate your site visitors. Why go to all the trouble of getting someone to your website and then tick them off with crap like that? There are some really good affiliate products out there and chances are you will be able to find one that you can market on your site if you look hard enough.Steve
