  1. Being a guy myself, I normally put the seat up when i'm out at a friends/relatives/aunty/uncle/grandma/grandpas place etc (usually out of courtesy and habit). But whilst at home, I normally just leave it down, only except when we have some visitors/friends over at the house.
  2. Basketball, Football (Touch football - rugby without the tackling), Soccer, many sports in the spare time in the arvos during autumn or a winter. Apart from that, sleeping in for sure in the winter, considering how cold it is and it's like snuggle and/or hot chocolate weather. Nighttimes, playing MMOs and/or shoot em ups, esp the favs Diablo, Counterstrike and World of Warcraft. I enjoy the challenge of working in teams in MMOs, especially WoW raids and having to work with 24 other people.
  3. November is spring down under or in the southern hemisphere countries. AT that point, especially in Australia we'd be preparing for a summer christmas and long break for the kiddies (and those that mainly work during the year, but get the long break at christmas as well (eg teachers, volunteers)).
  4. Just recently changed it to ninemsn.com.au for Internet Explorer. It's an Australian Televison channel/media company joint portal with news, entertainment and the like. But still when it comes to search, would prefer google.
  5. Doesnt seem to be a good host, might be alright for a basic package from what I'm reading, but it seems most sites tend to require active forum participation to keep the hosting up. However, their community seem to be pretty quiet as opposed to here at Trap.
  6. Many cartoons over the years for me. The Simpsons, Futuruma, Family Guy and a few others were classic comedy. I'm not too keen on recent Simpsons episodes however, but earlier season stuff was hilarious in its time.
  7. Would suggest submitting your site to more search engines, linking your site to more popular sites eg a business directory, or a directory related to the type of business that you are doing, and also add in keywords and the like to improve the results. Yes, it seems the more links to other known sites (and thats putting it out there legitimately instead of "spamming" it to an extent that it annoys other site others), the higher the rank on the search engines.
  8. Have to say if anyone supported any suggestion to have the driving age at a younger age eg 16 or 17, some restrictions put into place I'd support, such as a blanket ban between 10pm and 6am for learner drivers at 17. In a way in Australia, theres already some restrictions in place for learner/provisional license holders (depending on states).
  9. I tend to agree with the above post that if everyone had worked together towards a system where wages, food and the bare essentials were provided all together through the economy and how it is set up, even if its under a "communism" style, without all the corruption, fraud and the like which plagued the former communist countries, then it may work, or may not work.
  10. Some of the big media companies like to claim copyright on some of "their" material apaprently. It sort of reminds me of the MP3 players at first, all the record companies had a big cry about it because they feared that CDs will become "obsolete", but today they co-exist, especially the sites that sell "MP3" singles which send the funds directly to the author/singer.
  11. Stereotypes are indeed everywhere, but many do tend to bite it on the lip and try to move on with life. But there always seem to be a reason how the stereotype is formed, for example convenience stores run by the nice Asian and/or middle east folk. But there are always the exemptions, eg Convenience store run by the local townsfolk which ancestors were from Europe and the like. Or another example being that Kids tend to be the best at Computer Games, yet there are a few adults (or the stereotype 'Kid at Heart') which may tend to perform better than most kids.
  12. I can probably see the service abused as storage space. If this was released back in the golden era of "warez", i can imagine the folk from that area storing their lot on that service. But still, 30gb is a bit over the top. A USB stick or even a external HDD would do for storing my stuff.
  13. There seems to be a lot of outrage at Whale farming groups, as well as other practices, especially from vegetarian groups. Whilst I hadnt read most posts to form a opinion yet, it seems the food chain does dictate how mammals and/or living creatures are supposed to survive. For example, small fishes eventually gets eaten by bigger fish and so forth :\
  14. Yet you still need to either pay via CC to continue playing the game and/or purchase the BC expansion. Alternatively instead of CC for the game, there are 2 month prepaid card available at major computer retailers.
  15. Instant Messenger/Phone/Skype other forms of contacts to your friends is a great alternative if you want to keep thoughts to yourself without having the public or the world know about it. Although there are some blogs which enable privacy and/or site control that restricts viewing of the blog to you and/or your family members and friends.
  16. MMOs tend to be a good example of age too, some may tend to act like "a%$hats" online only to find out that they are actually older people with different personality trying to juggle work and/or young families. Also, it can happen the other way around, a player may tend to act older, only to find out that they are only a kid through their picture or through other circumstances.
  17. Congratulations on becoming a auntie. Hope the kids doesnt tie you down too much, but they should be lovable enough, regardless of what they do early in their life.
  18. Down here in Australia, there are many football teams (of all football codes) that we love to hate. For example, Australian Rules Football, it tends to switch between Collingwood Magpies and Essendon Bombers. Those football teams are in in the same situation as the Yankees.Alternatively they (and the Yankees) are victim of the "Tall Poppy Syndrome" as we call it here.
  19. It seems that many people online tend to keep a diary and keep to themselves traditionally. However, blogs have changed that, with most having the option of letting the blog go out into public (for the whole world to see), or chosing to restrict access to the blog to a selected group of friends. However, blogs today do tend to give other people things to read other people's thoughts on everyday life or things which may excite and/or frustrate them at various times in their life.
  20. Those chain letters are nothing more than an annoyance. The old "send this to 20 people and you'll be rich, otherwise something bads gonna happen", etc. Most cases many people delete those types of letters before they even open them.
  21. I dont know about freezing if the sun "blew" up, but more of being dark 24/7 rather and having to rely on solar power and the like, which probably wouldnt be good enviroment wise and earth would be worse off in environmental terms, especially those that have to rely on nuclear power in various areas worldwide.
  22. It may seem like a dark day for baseball, but I've got to agree that it is a first step to cleaning out the steroids and drug use in Baseball. However, Baseball isnt the only sport plagued with those problems, many other sports also have issues with this as well. Good on the US government to step in and to take drastic measures to clean up drugs/steroids and other illegal performance enchancing uses in sport.
  23. Speaking of first computers, the first "Proper" PC i got was a 386SX, 25mhz with 40mb Hard Drive and a 3.5 FDD, and a external 5.5 FDD. The brand was Amstrad (now defunct), which at the time was a okay brand, however it was difficult to upgrade some parts considering the parts Amstrad used was different to other manufacturers around at the time (Compaq, HP, even Commodore, etc).
  24. Down here in Australia, they havent gone to the extremes of hiring security guards and/or having metal detectors in the school as yet. But police patrols around the area are often, although not frequently. But yes, if someone does bring a toy gun and decides to play around and/or joke around with it, it does tend to be taken seriously. There has been a notable incident in my local school where a person brought a toy gun to a drama class, decided to play and joke around in the area and got the school in complete lockdown until the person who brought the gun had to explain to the police that it was only a "toy" gun brought for the drama class.
  25. I would also suggest a mirror site at an alternate address in case of the main site being down. Perhaps provide a backup forum in the case of the main site crashing and/or being hijacked into.
