  1. Hey guys, I'm trying to set up a dummy server on a virtual machine. PHP, HTML, MySQL are all working. However, I ran into a slight PHP error as shown below: Nexenta Core 1.0.1 (OpenSolaris 20080311, b85) PHP 5.1.2 MySQL 5.0.22 Quicksilver Forums 1.4.2 Any help will be appreciated. xboxrulz
  2. I guess we do need a review of these rules. In Yordan's word, I guess I fall under the "kind" one since I'm usually lenient (but doesn't mean I don't enforce it).xboxrulz
  3. Remember, these tricks only work on Windows XP and Vista. Windows 2000 does NOT have a Run As command since Microsoft only included it since XP. xboxrulz
  4. If you are not administrator, you wouldn't be able to change anything in regedit in the first place for all Windows after Windows 9x. This holds especially true on Windows Vista since the User Account Control will actually stop you and ask for an administrator password before you can even see the regedit. It also depends on the administrator, maybe the environment allows users to kill off software that may be clogging up the system but don't allow them to use the regedit. If it's something that a virus has caused, then obviously the regedit is available (unless that virus also blocked regedit access then you're screwed). Else, as you said, the regedit is access denied.xboxrulz
  5. lol, i realized, and so I shall lock this one and just defer people to the central one. I don't like duplicate post as much as you do so, ya, locking up this one lol. http://forums.xisto.com/topic/96223-topic/?findpost=1064394894 xboxrulz
  6. The task manager and the Windows registry are two completely separate things. Your system will NOT work without the registry since all the login policies are all stored in there.xboxrulz
  7. It is indeed a welcomed addition as it creates better services for all users of both Xisto and Xisto. Adds more reasons to post and make our community even more vibrant in the future.Great idea!xboxrulz
  8. I made my argument here. If that is still unacceptable, I will update and follow BuffaloHELP's version of the rules and abide to it by altering my post when I get the time. http://forums.xisto.com/topic/96224-topic/?findpost=1064394872 xboxrulz
  9. I tend to only penalize people that steal posts off Google (or any other search engine therein). I never penalized anyone who linked their post back to their own website and that it can't be found on any other websites =S.If you feel wronged, just contact me and I'll see how I can sort out the mess.Heck, sometimes if I like something I posted that is both long and useful, I'll copy what I posted and paste it to my website in my blog. I just abide it like an open-source license like the BSD license. It is true that every moderator has a different stance. Unfortunately, we're just volunteers from around the world, and I'm afraid that each one of us have different views on this matter. I'm very lenient. As long as you don't plagiarize, I don't care. Copy and paste from your website ... just quote it if it's not your own work. I treat it like an essay or a part of a program. What programmer would rewrite things if it's already pre-written that they wrote and it still works?....xboxrulz
  10. I actually was stunned that Apple took out FireWire since I find that really useful.DDR3 and the new GPU plus the fact that it's aluminium and glass makes me want it more.xboxrulz
  11. The syntax will be different but the concepts would be the same since both of them are object oriented programming languages so you shouldn't have much issues switching between the two.xboxrulz
  12. Ummm... this is my own site, so I don't quote myself lol. Quotes are for quoting things that are not yours.xboxrulz
  13. This is the moment every Apple fan has been waiting for. Finally a solution to the bad Intel chipsets for the Macbooks. Also for a complete revolution in the Apple hardware. Let's take a look in what Apple has in store for us this time around! So what's new about these Apple notebooks? Macbook Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn 2.0 GHz or 2.4 GHz 1066 MHz FSB 160 GB, 250GB or 320GB 5400RPM Hard Drive or 128GB SSD 2GB DDR3-1066 RAM NVIDIA GeForce 9400M IGP 2 USB 2.0 8x SuperDrive Mini DisplayPort Backlit LED glass LCD screen All new aluminium casing All new multitouch glass trackpad All new backlit keyboard Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn 2.4, 2.53 or 2.8 GHz 1066 MHz FSB 250, 320GB 5400 or 7200 RPM Hard Drive or 128GB SSD 2GB DDR3-1066 RAM NVIDIA GeForce 9400M IGP AND NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT w/ 512 MB GDDR3 discrete GPU 2 USB 2.0 1 FireWire 800 8x SuperDrive Mini DisplayPort Backlit LED glass LCD screen All new aluminium casing All new multitouch glass trackpad All new backlit keyboard So what do all these specifications mean? It means that it is a behemoth of an Apple update. We haven't seen such changes to the Mac hardware since the introduction of the iBook and PowerBook G4 before the Intel transition. (Note that the bottom scenarios are what I see for common scenarios. Please don't hold me accountable if they are false and please correct me if I'm wrong). So what does this means for me if I'm a regular business user? Better battery lifespan, faster access and a much more intuitive design as a laptop and the new trackpad will make your organization much faster and efficient. Also this means that flash videos should not make your laptop sound like a jet engine. However, you may not benefit much unless you have the Santa Rosa or Napa revision. So what does this mean for gamers? Ever wanted to run Need for Speed: Carbon, Unreal Tournament 2004 or Call of Duty 4 on your Macbook? Sure, now you can ... smoothly! Enjoy this massive graphical upgrade! With Macbook Pros dual GPU, it'll mean that you can still game on the go without sucking so much power. Once you plug in, your game will go even smoother like a desktop. So what does this mean for graphics artists and/or movie editor? Ever thought that whenever you're running Adobe Photoshop or Final Cut Pro and your hardware starts whirling like mad? Now with this new graphical update, it means it's going to not only renders faster but your computer should no longer be a jet engine because of the redesign. So what does this mean for musicians? Like regular business users, you won't see much difference in this new revision. Refer to the business users section. So what does this mean for developers and power users? This is a massive upgrade, now to appeal to the new hardware, you can add better effects in your Mac games and software and for power users, now you can multitask ever more and work more efficiently since now the CPU would be even freer because of the new IGP/GPU! However, like many Mac users, I've been appalled at the fact that FireWire 400 was removed. It made no sense since other manufacturers are actually adding it (and calling it by its standard name: IEEE1394) All in it's a great update for people to get! It is the one that most people waited for. It is both a lot more environmental and it's even sexier ... as one can say. Also, the technology is way advanced than most laptops ... the glass LCD display, the new sleek glass trackpad and the use of DDR3 on a laptop! For the full version, with the images and layout, go to my page: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Your thoughts on the new revision?
  14. that problem no longer exist for new laptops. It will NOT shorten the battery life. That problem only occurs if you constantly cycle your battery.xboxrulz
  15. Also, make sure that you installed graphics drivers that support 32-bit colour.xboxrulz
  16. I just use Nero that comes with my LG burners on Windows and I use K3B on Linux. Actually K3B works a lot better than Nero I found. That's why I didn't get Nero for Linux.xboxrulz
  17. Are you using Vista or XP? In Vista, the audio system was rewritten and DirectSound was deprecated in favour of XAudio2 and OpenAL ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectSound DirectSound is currently emulated on Windows software mixer... so that can be creating problems for you. I know some old games won't work because of this issue. Your software might be getting this same problem since you're trying to do a hardware capture. xboxrulz
  18. It's firmware, so it's not going to be easy to remove.xboxrulz
  19. Remember that most computer users aren't computer scientists and they don't know crud about computers. Heck, most of them weren't even from the DOS/UNIX CLI days. Thus, Microsoft won't do that like what they did in Windows Server 2008. The only people that actually use the frontend of the server OS are administrators. (Unless, it's a thinclient server) Nothing more than what was already discussed. xboxrulz
  20. True, hmm.. I don't have an answer to that, because I think the operating system isn't treating that toolbar as a separate window, so it isn't affected by what I explained earlier. You need someone that is specialized in UI designs to help u.xboxrulz
  21. It's a really good family-oriented website. Like it has the feeling that it isn't professional and it's all just for fun, that kind of feeling. It's a really basic but very rugged layout and it just simply works which is key I think.Great job!xboxrulz
  22. Well, i understood that. However, I don't think anyone allowed this to happen because all the applications you see when you click on another focal point, it lists itself inactive. I think this is got to do with the operating system and not the programming language itself. xboxrulz
  23. I use a microfibre cloth to wipe my screen. If it's a glossy screen I use wet it with water.xboxrulz
  24. I've never heard an operating system allowing that. Thus, I don't think it's really possible. I know in KDE, you might be able to do it if you set the inactive colour and the active colour the same. However, it will be hell confusing.xboxrulz
  25. My refresh rate is at 60Hz and it does VSync, I never run a game without VSync because I have an LCD screen. My graphics card is ATi Radeon HD 3650xboxrulz
