  1. The PC must be set up with Windows Media Player 11 in order for the XBOX 360 to recognize it.xboxrulz
  2. I actually look forward to this new James Bond game. However, for my experience. It is very annoying to notice the fact that it keeps flickering every once in a while. Other than that, it is very smooth fluid gameplay and has a lot of potential to be the best Bond game since Rare's GoldenEye; which still claims the throne to be the best Bond game ever.I'm still deciding if I should get it for the PC (fearing that flicker glitch), Wii or on my XBOX 360. However, I still have Need for Speed: Undercover on my list first so most likely I'll go for that first instead. That and the fact I need to get Gears of War 2.xboxrulz
  3. This is discussed at my college's website. Hopefully it would be useful: https://scs.senecac.on.ca/~btp100/pages/content/sfunc.html xboxrulz
  4. I already tried to mesh Java in C: for (int intCount = 0; intMin < intMax; intCount++){} That won't work in C but sure as hell looks like C lol. I learned Java in high school in grade 12 and not C.
  5. I use OpenSUSE, it's a real balance between easy to use and all the power provided by any Linux distribution. Ubuntu doesn't offer you that when I last used it in 8.04. I would even recommend PCBSD, it's a neat little FreeBSD distribution: http://www.pcbsd.org/ if power is not something you would really use. I'm gonna pin this because a lot of people are going to ask. xboxrulz
  6. I can't really see C being replaced since most applications are written in C and is continually written in C. Most kernels, especially UNIX-like and Windows ones are all written in C. xboxrulz
  7. I would recommend buying a new graphics card because it might have been damaged by the previous owner.xboxrulz
  8. For me, I'm learning C and C++ for first year and then the program will expand on C++ in years 2 and 3.xboxrulz
  9. you should see if you can get a warranty on your card. Sounds like a hardware failure and not a software failure.xboxrulz
  10. Nor have I but they do look more appealing each revision ... I don't see why not though xD. They are still too expensive for me.xboxrulz
  11. @one_nikhil, you can install Linux on a separate partition. This allows both operating systems to coexist together. Fedora comes with a partitioner with their Anaconda installer. Refer to here: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/ and here: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/ xboxrulz
  12. Yup, i saw some UI that uses ribbon for Paint and Wordpad.xboxrulz
  13. tablet PCs are supported by Windows XP and Vista at the moment and will be included in Windows 7.xboxrulz
  14. If you're good with the joystick, it's not that hard to get a headshot with a controller. I am just as good on the keyboard/mouse as I am on the controller with headshots. Obviously it's harder to do it on the controller, but it's not undoable. xboxrulz
  15. With the advent of many web browsers starting to use standards, I don't think it really matters that the designers need to make multiple copies for every single web browser since the browser market is no longer just Trident and Gecko anymore. There's now Presto, WebKit, and KHTML.I'm sure that many designers won't make a version of their CSS for each one of the layout engines.xboxrulz
  16. The next Windows after Vista is confirmed to be called Windows 7 which is based on their "Vienna" project. It is said to be a very slimmed down version of Vista's kernel and will also come with DirectX 11 as I've heard. Which is good news for Vista users since DirectX 11 will also run on Vista.xboxrulz
  17. If you boil that further, you can use GIMP. It's free and not too hard to use:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  18. Well, CS4 just came out so all remaining CS3 copies should be quite moderately priced. If you're a post-secondary student, you might even get a discount from Adobe.xboxrulz
  19. It's interesting that you say that Safari slowed down on you. Try to reset the browser. Also, note that Google Chrome uses the EXACT same engine Safari does. I'm just waiting until they released a Mac and Linux version of the browser. Also, I'm waiting until they release the final version as well. xboxrulz
  20. I would add UAC as part of your "defense grid" because it isn't wise to turn off a system security feature. That's like being too lazy to turn on your house alarm every night. Not wise at all.I'm used to this type of system since I run a lot of UNIX like operating system. They have this function built into it since the 1970s.xboxrulz
  21. I guess I've never seen this since I control all the administrative tasks in my home so I oversee everything and don't see this problem...xboxrulz
  22. I don't think the "Autoplay" virus is really a virus. It think it's a function. Hence, Microsoft putting the autorun? I've never heard of the autoplay virus. What's its anitvirus designation?xboxrulz
  23. I have only used Frostwire than Limewire since it came out and it's really good.xboxrulz
  24. Fedora works well, but it can be complicated when it comes to setting up Samba and power options. I still rather people go to OpenSUSE as it is one of the most powerful yet easy distribution to use for all.xboxrulz
  25. Well, Microsoft has been screwing up since their developmental restart of Vista. Everything has been slipping up on them and more and more people are starting to become aware of Linux/FreeBSD's push to the desktop markets.I usually run virtual machines and they are one of the biggest CPU performance hoggers out there. On Windows Vista (and sometimes XP), I can only run basic applications while running the virtual machine. On Linux, I don't have this problem. I can run all my basic operations, view HD videos high res while letting the virtual machine run at near native speed to accomplish the tasks that I set. Usually these virtual machines run Solaris or a dummy server for investigative purposes.xboxrulz
