  1. streaming videos are fine, but on Windows Media Center, sometimes it takes a while to scroll through a video list that is stored on my main desktop. What wireless attenuation software do you speak of?Thanks, xboxrulz
  2. Hey guys,I recently built a new media centre and I bought a wireless card because I'm not dragging another 30ft cable across my house. So, I bought the Belkin Wireless G Desktop Card for $20. It was a good deal. However, it'signal pickup isn't the best. My router is just the next room over but Windows Vista tells me it's only a Good signal (at 3/5). Would getting a new antenna to replace the stock one would make the signal be clearer or I'm stuck at this lower range?xboxrulz
  3. Make sure you've run scandsk on the flash drive because apparently the file system is deemed not clean.\ It will constantly annoy you until then. xboxrulz
  4. It looks like JNode is completely stuck on my virtual machine >.>" xboxrulz

  6. Yes, resetting the SMC may or may not fix it. If it does, then excellent. Else, send it to an Apple Store or call AppleCare for details.xboxrulz
  7. From a business and technical standpoint it looks promising. However, if it also emphasized in community (which is the root foundation for Linux and basically all open source software), they can gain a lot more traction.xboxrulz
  8. More info would be nice, don't ya think?xboxrulz
  9. Windows Live Messenger is notorious of not working (as in not connecting). Try any third party instant messengers or email Microsoft and ask them what's up with the system.deltatux
  10. I have yet to see a laptop due that if they are manufactured from 2007 onwards.xboxrulz
  11. This file looks like it is very distribution specific. Plus, I believe that this file only work on GNOME since if I remember correctly, you can set all these paths in KDE's control centre.xboxrulz
  12. I agree that the expand/collapse isn't remembered, but I hope it can just be easily fixed (or not).I have to say that this skin is still 100x better than what was installed when this topic was created. That was such a mess.xboxrulz
  13. You shouldn't install Solaris on laptops because they don't really have a laptop optimized core nor services making the battery not last as long. You should install OpenSolaris on your desktop since it's a full fledge Solaris distribution.xboxrulz
  14. Ummm, guys, the fan for ALL computers should ALWAYS be on or else it'll lead to a system crash. All Macs have always been cooled by a fan. However, at what speed should be the question. The standard minimum speed for a fan to operate on an Intel Mac should be 2000 rpm. The highest (and should be worried depending on application) is 6000 rpm. On the polycarbonate Macbooks, it is normal to see YouTube videos causing the fans to rev to 6000 RPM due to the fact that the Intel graphics chipset just suck and forces it to be fully rendered on CPU instead of offloaded to the GPU as well.As for the Macbook Pro, they usually range from 2000 rpm to 3000 rpm as their normal operating speed. You wouldn't even hear the fans loudly until you hit 4000 rpm.xboxrulz
  15. My main concern is usability over aesthetics. If the skin is usable and it's visually appealing, the better. The original skin when this topic was created, it was too bright and not accessible at all, I was basically fuming lol, I've never seen such poorly designed skin in my life. However, the use of AJAX was cool. This one is a lot more usable and I have no problems.xboxrulz
  16. I haven't had a harder time navigating a forum before and this is the first time I'm frustrated at working with a forum. Although it kinda looks cool, it's massively inaccessible. Either it needs to be reverted back to the old one permanently, pull it down temporarily and fix it or apply Xisto's skin because the latter one works a lot better yet different from the default skin. At least that skin IS workable. However, I do praise the use of AJAX/CSS but this skin is unusable, I'm actually more agitated with this skin than anyone who had a hissy-fit with the Facebook update >.<"! xboxrulz
  17. Left 4 Dead is my multiplayer choice for the PC. If you got an XBOX 360, I'll heavily suggest Gears of War 2.xboxrulz
  18. Why don't you just run Google Chrome? (Unless Mac or Linux user) It's a lot faster and heck, I like it a lot more than Firefox just for the fact that it's running on WebKit. No more system resource hogging and it zooms like crazy.xboxrulz
  19. Oh, is that what he wants to do? lolI would just delete the Desktop folder and just make a symbolic link to the folder I want (that is if it's Vista, that's the only way I know how to make a real symbolic link instead of "shortcuts")xboxrulz
  20. Ya, I'm going to wait for the beta release of Windows 7 when it comes out and test drive it myself, because right now I'm not convince that it's no more than a service pack (like SP2 was for XP).xboxrulz
  21. Can you further explain what you're trying to achieve. I don't quite get it.xboxrulz
  22. Make sure you're running SP1 of Vista. If you don't, then UAC will be very annoying. That and the fact that file transfers were vastly improved on SP1.I'm running Windows Server 2008 which is basically Vista with many tweakable settings and with UAC on and using a standard account, not an administrator. It works and feels like UNIX (but not UNIX) the way I like it.xboxrulz
  23. Oh well, that's not really an issue for me, I'm too busy to care what needs to be fixed as long as it's going to be fixed. I would recommend you just run Windows in a virtual machine unless you need 3D application support. xboxrulz
  24. Experimental DirectX support is in VMWare and Parallels ...xboxrulz
