Windows 7 will surprise you how much in the right direction it goes away from windows vista! Regarding your PC specs, you'd be doing well to purchase that. $969 Canadian is a good price for those specs, you couldn't do much better than that in my opinion. The high CPU speed coupled with the 4870 will definitely future proof it for a while. Regarding Lightscribe, after you kick up your first game you'll soon forget about it.

Brittany Murphy Untimely Passing At Age 32
inverse_bloom replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in General Discussion
Somewhat of a young age to die, i immediately thought "drugs" may have had something to do with it. However, after a quick Google search nothing came up along those lines. They are going to search through family history to determine if the cardiac arrest was due to something hereditary. She always seemed to look fit in magazines, although there is current media speculation whether her diabetes was the source of the issue. Its seems a likely cause, but apparently the husband doesn't want an autopsy done so who knows... -
Eagerly Anticipating Sherlock Holmes Movie
inverse_bloom replied to inverse_bloom's topic in General Discussion
I used to always watch Get Smart on the T.V, it must have been popular too because it aired through most of the late 90's here in Aus. I watched about 5 minutes of the movie and put it back in the DVD cover, i can even remember the lead actor for it. Although the remake of "The Italian Job" is example of a successful remake, i like it better than the original. But the the percentage of good remakes vs bad is thin. I agree, Sherlock Holmes is supposed to be a human calculating machine devoid somewhat of emotion. Despite that fact, ill reserve that judgement while watching it, just this once. -
Lightweight Cms For Blogging
inverse_bloom replied to inverse_bloom's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Actually ive tried getting habari working since i last posted, but to no avail. The main idea is the current Habari version 0.6.3 doesnt work on xampp 1.7.0 (as indicated in Habari forums). I have xampp 1.7.1 but i appear to have the same issue they describe. Theres not enough documentation to indicate how to get it up and running on xampp in a timely fashion so ill let it go. Apparently there is no issue running it of your web server and updating it, but that isnt a good solution and it doesn't suit me. I'll just go for Wordpress i think and find some tools to "lean" it up a bit. -

Im not sure they'll capture the same magic or mystery in a single movie, but from the previews it definitely contains intense action. Which surprised me. -
Lightweight Cms For Blogging
inverse_bloom replied to inverse_bloom's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thanks fellas,I looked at sNews CMS what a fantastic little CMS. The only problem is i coudn't determine if it would be secure enough for my needs. Habari looks like the better option, but i cant find any thing which details "how" SEO friendly it actually is. I presume because it is made by some of the same people who made wordpress, it would be pretty darn good for SEO concerns. -
Hi, does anyone know a secure lightweight CMS that is useful for for blogging and RSS functionality? I'm looking for something that is SEO friendly.?
-
Don't worry about not being so good at 3D modeling, it takes significant time to learn how to find all the functions in a 3D program, then knowing what to do with them. Keep at it though its enjoyable.

My Friend's Typical Condition.
inverse_bloom replied to contactskn's topic in Dating And Relationships
I don't mean to sound negative but there is something wrong with that situation. Your friend must find it a bit painful at times to not tell her how he feels. To be honest im a bit like that, but i do come to a point where i say "to hell with it" ill make myself do it anyway, even at least to just move on. He should just express how he feels in simple terms, not make it too hard before he even begins. Even to just be a bit coy and say "i like you" to start giving her an indication. The thing is, these opportunities wont open up to him if he doesn't take it upon himself to show some initiative by taking a risk. Shes not the only fish in the sea, but he seems to have invested all his feelings in one basket with her, thats a bad trap to be in considering its been a whole three years. -
Actually? i used to play a lot of guitar but 10 years ago. But anyways LMMS sounds like a good alternative, i might check out FL studio as well. What about a free real time guitar effects app? so far i've scoped out "Rakarrack Guitar Effects". Ive got a Morley Wah-Wah peddle and an old Digitech Rp-5 to boost the signal into a little into my? laptop.?I used to play a lot of gunners and Metallica songs so if i could achieve a sound a little like that, that would be awesome! (but probably unrealistic).

Hey thanks for that Truefusion,Its actually not easy to find quality midi composing software on the net which is free. Apparently FL Studio is good if you can outlay a couple of hundred for the cause, but i cant so I'll have a look at Rosegarden after Ive obtained the latest version of Ubuntu. At the moment I'm coming up with a load of dependencies for version 7.2, which I'd rather not deal with.Cheers, again.

Hi i was wondering if anyone had come across any good "free" multi track midi composers on the Internet. I have been looking for a while and have been meaning to ask on the trap for a while. Just wanted to mess around with one for a bit of fun.?

I think its way too early to put the issue of morality into question, we have barely scratched the surface on this technology. Although that machine is sophisticated by todays standards (the A.I) its premature to make a morality judgement on such a thing. Just speculation about nothing at this point in time, as far as im concerned. -

If only that were true no male would go unsatisfied and some women wouldn't get bothered. That video made me laugh. I think we'll have a while to go yet, before we see anything that is remotely convincing even from a couple of kilometers away. -

Well im know at 500 posts finally!, who would have knew. But i still don't see the option to change the text under our avatar. Hopefully i wont have to put in 500 more posts to get the opportunity. Meh, who cares. -
Mmm... I can't really think why that technology would be practical. It just seems overkill to me. However, if it received HDTV with no link up that would be impressive, then they could have "average definition" digital channels aimed at mobile phones for you to scan through. That would be good.

I was wondering who enjoys having multiple monitors for their computer set up. For me, I have a laptop hooked up with a 17 inch screen. Its great for work flow, to be able to switch between those two workspaces. I often might have an coding editor up in one window and the web page i'm editing in the other window. I multi task a lot so as far as im concerned it is a huge advantage to have such a convenience. Perhaps having three monitors up at once would make another large difference even again. Its good for to have two browser windows up with multiple tabs on them when researching topics also. Here an info-graphic displaying how to obtain such configuration through nVidia cards - http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/sli Having multiple spaces to tab through on Linux is good too. My ultimate configuration would be having windows setup on 2 screens, and having another screen with a Linux/freeBSD virtual machine. I could then tab through its 4 workspaces or whatever i decide to setup. But then, thats my "ideal" setup.

(AMD) ATI have a few product line ups not limited to just "ATI Radeon". There is also "ATI Rage", "ATI Rage mobility", "ATI Radeon Mobility", "ATI FireGL" to name a few. For many motherboards on the market you dont need to check compatability with a specific brand of graphics card. They have one PCI-e slot to plug into, although you have to ensure that what you are putting in is a PCI-e or PCI-e 2.0 compatible graphics card (AGP wont work with PCI).But last i heard you "do" need to check compatability for "some" motherboards to see if they are compatible with a graphics card brand if you intended to have two or more in one computer. Some motherboards are intended for Nvidia others are intended ATI especially if you are looking for a SLI or Crossfire configuration. Another consideration is the type of "processor" you will select from to put in the motherboard, whether it be "AMD", "Intel", or a cheaper CPU.

Nah, don't like Face book at all. Its a huge ado about nothing as far as i'm concerned. Plus you get many jerks on FB who are supposed to be your friends. I'm not criticizing anyone here for using it, but to me i couldn't get much out of it, bit of a shallow experience (mostly played mafia wars). I guess thats where email and chat clients come in handy for me.

Why Do People Care About Gmail? i made my account first try
inverse_bloom replied to GaMeRrEmAg's topic in The Internet
Yeah Gmail "is" very good. It loads up quick and is responsive. Yahoo was like that for me, but they are beginning to get bogged down with all the advertisements and crud on their pages. Live (hotmail) is the next best thing to Gmail. Lycos email is one of the worst in my opinion. Not even responsive half the time.
