Wireless Cable, Instead Of Modem
Alex Cicala replied to Alex Cicala's topic in Science and Technology
I know about NIC's but I'm talking about devices eg. The Xbox, doesn't have compatibility for an NIC. So do you see what I mean? -
Ok my idea is quick. But It could make it more efficient with some older products. My idea is to have a cable [Ethernet] that only has the part that you put into the port, and then on the end has a small wifi connection thing that then connects to the other end which would be the receiver end of the cable. So they what does everyone think

Well normally I would use a online web proxy, I wouldn't have a clue of a proxy program, but I'll give you a list of online proxies. http://www.bbjb.info/ http://www.unblocked.me/ [proxies list] http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/[minor popup] http://blockedsiteaccess.com/ Yeah so that should be sufficient for you

I agree, and I haven't even used it. :PI have recently used Microsoft Access for a school outcome. We had to make a mind boggling database that confused me thoroughly. Then once we finished and got a D+ on it. B)Then we watched a video of someone using Oracle. It was like spreading butter on bread, as easy as that, pardon my expression. Our school takes in sooooooo much money from fees and other sources, I think they should buy about 30 licenses for Oracle you that we can use it for IT classes. Also MySQL is the only online database I have used, I use it for my forums, its actually a very straightforward type of database program, so yes it is good too.

Alex Cicala replied to finaldesign's topic in Software
The best ever media player is Media Player Classic, and the second best is VLC.The best codec pack for playing all formats is K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. [http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ this combination you can play any type of format, 100% of video formats guaranteed. -
Not entirely legal. If you download illegal software. Many torrent trackers are monitored so your ISP will be contact by whoever is monitoring, let's say Interpol. Now all you will receive is an email and slight warning. You can receive many of these, you won't get in trouble. But if you created that torrent and it went against copyright then you are at risk of coping fines and jail terms and what not.I would recommend you to choose your path wisely on the internet. Just be sure what your doing.ps. Baniboy, it can be classed as illegal but the police or whoever is in charge cannot touch you. It goes against fair trade laws or something like that. The system for copyright is mixed up. Basically in my view nothing is copyrighted, it only allows the first right holder to sue for massive amounts of money.

Big 3: Vbulletin Vs. Invision Power Board Vs. Phpbb
Alex Cicala replied to CarlU's topic in Websites and Web Designing
My choice for the number 1 forum script software is: Invision Power Board.I find that this board is the best featured and has easier admin controls. I find that it is worth it's money. If you look at vBullitin its too professional and confusing to use.And phpBB3 is a very good forum system, and it's free. But using IPB is just too good and you cant go back to phpbb3, it's just I do not mind it.Three main reasons why IPB is good:Easy to useLooks cleanXisto is using it -
Sims 3 I think that it won't be as successful as the Sims 2. I thoroughly enjoyed number 2 especially with the endless expansions and a hellishly good Level Editor. If sims 3 makes a better Level Editor I'll buy it, if not I'll stick to Burnout Paradise.

Windows 7..the New Operating System Of Microsoft
Alex Cicala replied to tinoymalayil's topic in General Discussion
I find that using Windows 7 is very different from the last too, although it is easy to get used to. I'm not a fan of the new Libraries feature though. I have seen benchmarking done for Crysis [gaming], Windows 7 got 5% frame per second boost. While Vista took up way to much RAM.In performance for all the 3 OS's, Windows XP is the fastest, Windows 7 is now classified as mid range it can work better on my old laptop than Vista. And Vista as the worst and slowest.I have for multiple themes in the Final release, though.I recommend to try Windows 7 if your installing an OS as of now if not stick with your current one. Oh and some programs won't work, especially my codecs. -
Can I Get Any Trial Version Of Mac Os For My Intel Processor
Alex Cicala replied to tinoymalayil's topic in Operating Systems
Random Truth, lol, I think he was looking for an easier explaination, i'll just add my reply anyway.I will refer to the topic sentence. First of all it's against Macintosh's licensing to install the Mac OS on anything bar the Apple Computer. It is possible to install on a computer with Intel processor but don't try cause it is illegal and you can be found out. Also Mac OSX is not available as a trial version or available for free in any form. Sorry for the bad news. May I suggest going to a reseller to use the Mac's there if you want to check the Mac's OS's features. -
Star wars Battle Front II - How to do Split Screen? Sw Battlefront 2
Alex Cicala replied to iGuest's topic in Computer Gaming
Just to add to be more specific. You need to go to "Splitscreen" in the console version. If you select Multiplayer on console it will direct to Xbox Live. Also yes the computer doesn't have splitscreen, but you can play online for free or setup a lan network with friends, if you have enough copies for your friends. -

Please Review My Website Request
Alex Cicala replied to Angela Brown488's topic in Websites and Web Designing
That Nav Sidebar seems to be misaligned for all browsers, it'd say fixed that.Colours seem to blend well, easy on the eyes. Use of White space.Didn't see ads, using Adblock Plus on firefox WinXP.All I'd say is a reorganisation of the info, images and content and the site will look spot on.That's all I say leave it up to you to do whatever. It's obviously your site.PS. I am a fan of scripts, [forums, cms, blog] so I don't see eye to eye with this site. But if I need info on Egypt I'll be sure to look at this. -
Splinter Cell Series Vs. Metal Gear Solid Series Opinions?
Alex Cicala replied to squeaky's topic in Computer Gaming
Splinter Cell is the best. One major reason is that the game won't bore you like MGS, and IN Splinter Cell, you can go rushing enemys 90% of the time, if your not the stealthy type, its hell good fun.But in Metal Gear its just not realistic to put a box over your head and pretend the guard doesn't see the same box in a different location and wouldn;t notice. That's just stupid. But I heard when they bring out the new Crysis, [this is after Crysis Warhead] it will involve a stealth feature similar to Splinter Cell, yes it already has cloak. But NPC's will react to scenarios and sounds made by the Character. More interactivity = more fun. Good on Crytek. I wonder will that splinter cell: conviction ever come out. lol -
End Level of Stalker SOC and Stalker Clear Sky. On the Stalker Difficulty. It took me about a week for Shadow of Chernobyl, which involves you in getting to the center of Chernobyl station, literally its 1 man on 2000. Plus the extra endings, argh. Beat the game with normal ending it took me 2 hours for last level on hardest, beat the game with good ending it was an extra 2 hours. ARGH. because I had to go back and forth on Stalker's massive map :POk in Stalker CLear Sky, you have to defeat Strelok. He is hard, mainly cause he is carrying a rail gun. And as gamers know all bots have hacks. Basically the guy kept running away, this took me an hour to defeat. Slightly more easier.

1000 And 1024 Hard Disk 1000 instead of full 1024
Alex Cicala replied to cyber_electrons's topic in General Discussion
Western Digital are the worst for this, to them 640gb seems to be 600gb for them. The best I think are actually Seagate, my drive is 1tb turns out to be 993gb, which isn't much of a loss.
