I'm encountering errors if I try to install/remove anything — after I tried to install gcdemu via the package manager, because I needed to extract a .mdf/.mds compressed archive as cdemu is the only software I know that does that in Linux. I found a solution! You know, if I played the file with mplayer through the command line — only the sound would play (and vlc didn't play anything), but I discovered gmplayer (GUI for mplayer) and it did play the file perfectly with both sound and great framerate. I don't know what the problem is, but I'm content that I found a way to go over it!
