  1. At the moment, the amount of information about technology known to man, doubles avery two years, this means, that after two years of a tthree year degree course, you would have learnt loads of stuff, which is completely out of date. Even worse, is that it is estimated that by 2010, it will double every, 72 hours!!!!Education is having to change, so that people learn to learn, not learn whats current.
  2. Well, its known that there is no way to get as much or more energy out of something as you put in, but i suppose this could significantly increase the amount of time your laptops battery lasts.I heard about something to do with harnessing the power of atoms, supposedly, they contain an imence amount of energy, but no-one yet knows how to harness it properly, infact, if they were to harness the energy, apparently, a glass of water would power a car for a year...
  3. Im rather quiet, so my favourite is:"it is beter to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"I have no idea who said it!
  4. Blackle, like google but eco friendly - but only if your monitor is not a flat one.I dont use an LCD monitor, because i use one which isnt so bad for eyesight. Which means me using blackle, is saving a small amount of energy over google.luckily, Blackle, is powered by google, so its still the best results!
  5. Thats just stupid, as well as there just wouldnt be enough, it would most likely reduce sales, it wouldnt be nice, wondering where and who it came from... And what about infections, they can be carried in milk, you could end up giving people aids ect.of course, yes, it would be monitored for everything like that, but mistakes happen.
  6. Well, you said no-one comes over to talk to you, but, they wont, unless you make an effort as well.Make sure you talk to people if you want them to talk to you, if you dontmake an effort, they wont know that you want to talk to them or be friends with them. You said you find it hard to start conversations, you dont really have to start a full on discussion, all it really need is something like "well that teacher is a right iddiot" or "well that was a rubbish lesson" type of thing, to start getting people to talk to you. if you go and sit in the corner, instead of talking to someone, they will think your a loose or a loner, you need to show that your not. Find someone with simialar intrests, and tag along with them for a while, that could help you find a crowd of friends, or you may be able to just build on that. it difficult, but you have to make the effort. Also, try not to use so much swearing on the forums.
  7. Well, you cant exect to just use other people wi-fi hotspot, its their internet access, they pay for bandwidth, and its not good to try and steel it. Your best bet, is to either get wireless broadband, or set up a wireless hotspot from your computer. Many hotels bars ect will give you free wi-fi access, and you can often use it at interbat cafes. a
  8. As much as it is perfectly normal to feel like that at thirteen, the last thing you want, is to go and have sex with someone you dont have real feelings for, and regret it for the rest of your life.Wait, until you are are in a steady relationship, with someone you really feel for, and you know feels the same way about you. You are too young anyway, allthough you feel like you really want, or need sex, its beter you wait for someone you really feel for.
  9. im presuming you mean 2 2.6ghz cores, not 2 1.33s.With a processor of that speed, your ram will let you down, 768 isnt really that much, if your running a processor like that, to use your computer to its full potential, i would suggest 2gb. if you want gaming, the processor will be very good, but the hard drive may let you down, 80gb is not a lot, especially if you want music or videos ect on the hard drive. 56k modems are very slow, however, if you dont have access to broadband or something beter than dial-up, thats probably your best bet, you may want to find yourself an internet accellerator (googles free web accellerator is fine). most DVD drives now, are DVD writers, it will be easier for you to get a DVD writer, and will probably cost no more, since they are so cheap now.
  10. the files and settings transfer wizard isnt capable of copying programmes, it is simply for people who have got a new computer, to get the settings the way they like them ect.If you want to move programmes around, you have to buy special software, as software has to be "anchored" into the operating system.
  11. I found it on a free web hosting list! Which i found on google!
  12. While tzhere is technoloy, there will always be a way round these things, whether its a latex glove made to be like the owners hand, or re-wiring it.
  13. Ah, U3, its very useful when your on a coputer with no restrictions in place, but most internet-cafes, libraries, and schools have systems to stoppeople running software, so that they cant ruin the system. U3, wont run on systems like these, but its very useful if you want to use your favourite (portable) software, on a computer you dont often use.It also has the greate advantage that it leaves no trace!
  14. Well excercise and a healthy diet is the best way if you dont have problems with them. Running and cycling is good, and situps are also good if your inside.just try to make sure you exercise enough so that your not eating loads, then going out for a very short run, cut down on anything high in fat.
  15. Well, i always cheat in games, it just makes them more fun if you like certain aspects of them! But i would never cheat in a mltiplayer game, because giving youself an advantage over anotherplayer is just sad - you dont achieve anything by winning, because there is a fair chance you couldnt have won without cheats.
  16. Ah, this happens mostly in computers that havent been used for a while. Open it up, and take the PCIs out, clean them off carefully, to get the dist off, then put them back in, dust being caught up can stop it working. Check all connections, then try to boot it up. if it doesnt work, it could be a motherboard fault. Yay! my 200th post
  17. You would have to be crazy to leave Xisto.most people who are looking for free hosting, just want to put a small site up, which will probably not use a months bandwidth in a year, 3GB is a lot of data.Yea, maybe you have to post on the forums, but i love the Xisto forums, i love posting!! And you can pay a fair amount for the quality of hosting you get at Xisto for free!GO Xisto
  18. you get a lot of things like that from visiting bad websites - the way it works - You visit bad website - you dont want people to know - website sends you to antivirus page - OH NO, antivirus page says people could see wht you are going, you feel presue to uy, as you think that if youdnt buy thisproduct, peope will see what you have been doin. These things do seem to vary greatly in the way they have o be removed, ifyour antivirus cant get rif of it, try looking in your programme files folder, and see if there is a folder for the antivirus that it is trying to sell you, or a folder for the company who makes it.Although, 89% of viruses come from legitimate viruses which have been hacked.
  19. I wouldnt say it is the best, obviously paying for a good dedicated hosting plan, is goignt o be beter, but this is the best free one ive ever seen, with no catches! (yay)I would say this is my favourite forum though!Go Xisto

  21. Do i get to keep the finger? If so, then i would, because i could have it re-attached.If not, probably still would - i could get a fake one, although, i wouldnt be able to play the piano or type properly, and diving would be harder. But, a million dollars invested well, is a fair amount of moneyIn a good bank account, say 5%5% of $1,000,000 = $50,000, a fair amount of money to be getting as well as a job.but faced with the oportunity, i dont think i would. There are beter things in life than money.Although, for a marger sum, i would have to reconsider...
  22. Ha Ha. Thats so funny!now that ive upgraded, im gunna go get me a pony!
  23. I dont like windows, buut as it is compatible with most software, it is what i use.I dont mind macs, and frequently use them, but, i do miss right-click.infact, sometimes, i find myself trying to right click on them. However, i like macs, and although, if you dont use them much, the prospect of loosing the right click, may seem like it would make your computer un-usable. It does seem ok, and the way the top menus change to accomodate the functions of the current programme, makes it nice to use.one large dis-advantage for me, is that i like to design my websites to include right lick menus, and make thing work with right click, however, there is always a way round these problems.Im sure, if macs worked with as much software as windows, many many more people (including myself) would use them as their main computer.
  24. I bought one ages ago, I love it.I cant work without a cuppa tea!it has a 4 port hub in it, and can be powered by mains, i run it off my PSP external battery!Never again will i drink cold tea at my desk."is it hot?""nah"*TSSSSS*"YAAAARGGH"how was i suppose to know?
  25. There is already stuff like that out there, there are computers which can take pictures, and process it, then send it to a persons brain, VERY low resolution, just dots, but they are starting to make people who have been blind all their lives, SEE!And there was a man who got a monkey, to controll a video game, using his mind, a computer read the monkeys brain waves.
