  1. I dont know what i would be, but i do - Just to be confusing there!I would want to be something undiscovered, something at the top of the food chain.I would want to be undiscovered, so that i wouldnt be bothered by pesky humans, destroying my home, and my idea home would be a very deep hole, with a large cave system, and a hige sivilisation - rathe like ants. And i wouldn't particularly want scientists constantly testing me for everything.I would want to be at the top of the food chain, so that i could hunt, but not be hunted.like this, no one and nothing would bother me, i would be able to spend my life 'chilling' with my animal 'friends'a carefree, and easy life.
  2. sounds cool. I think i might download that and try it..cool thread!
  3. Nice test, interesting that IE has no vulnerabilities, as it is often quite insecure....nice thread anyway
  4. I have used MSN toolbar, and google toolbar.I found that MSN toolbar didnt help me atall, just annoyed me, andsat there just begging me to get rid of it. and thats what id did after 10 minutes of being "amazed" by the "wonders of windows live toolbar"...however I like google toolbar,The pageranking is VERY good, although you have to share your browsing, but i dont really mind...The popup blocker is brilliant for a free one, infact, just as good, if not beter, than ones i have used that were included in expensive security pacages. It has many other useful features too!I have tried many other toolbars, but most require you to install adware or spyware, and uninstalling it is illegal ;)Many of these toolbars overate themselves just to get the adware on your PC. then the toolbar is useless...
  5. I like firefox, it has good security, a nice clean interface, run faster and smoother than Internet explorer, and has many addons.
  6. Well i use several...I have internet explorer 7firefoxand a few that i made myselfand operaI also run internet explorer 5 on some of my onlder PCsI think that firefox is the most reliable, and is the most web standard compliant.but the best user interface has to be IE7...
  7. it is EXTREMELY unlikely that a virus would do that. infact, almost inpossible. so i would rule out viruses.
  8. Nice tutorial.I never realised steadystate existed!!well now i do!!nice thread!!
  9. Wow, deepfish looks like it will be quite good.Although a lot of the descriptions were fairly vauge..although all three of them look like they will be quite nice interfaces...cool thread
  10. I think thats a fake.microsoft would not make another version of the operating system, Just for bill gates.I imagine simeone has changed some of the boot files, and text, so it boots sayg it "bill gates edition"Anyway, there is no way that they would have got it from his computer, it would be so so hard (if not impossible - nothings impossible!!!)top get it from his computer - it will be so well protected, and to get ALL of the files from his OS, you would never get past security, let alone for that long. Then also, the files wouldnt work, because the anchors linking the files, would not work outside of the original computer, so it would take years of work to make it all work properly..I just dont think its plausible!!
  11. Microsoft office is undoubtedly the beter of the two;open office has several drawbacks:-textured backgrounds look terrible, animated dont work properly.-Lots of the animations wont work.-It also doesnt have a good clipart.-It has a feeble attempt at wordart, but looks nothing like as good-the autoshapes arent as goodthey are just end result looks drawbacks.but there are many more drawbacks.Microsoft office works a lot faster on my PC.But considering the price, is it really worth paying so much for something which you can get a nearly as good version of, for free?
  12. It has its flaws, but if the security system were better, then it could work wuite well, you would be able to use a flash drive as a login key for your computer, say if you had an aplication which created the file, so it would only work i it were uploaded from a specific location or drive.I like the idea, it just has too many flaws with the security system.
  13. Well ic ouldnt see the blinking, because IE doesnt support the <blink> tag any more, so, although i didnt really look at it or read it for that long, it didnt annoy me THAT much.
  14. If you just want to show text, links, flash and photos, there is no need for PHP, just HTML will be enough.Unless of course you want something like automated account creation.
  15. Well the smallest you could make would be just a blank file called "-.htm"but if you mean the fastest load time, or smallest useable website then.Make a site, which does not use graphics, or uses only very small gifs or low resolution graphics.make all the page elements with text, and avoid complex scripts like PHP, and using flash or high resolution images, if any images at all.
  16. Well, there may be other beter ways, but this is how i would go about doing it. ientify who you are targeting find out how you can help visitors find your site (ie links, ad banners, search engines) identify how many pages, you will need, and build a site map (a list of pages and their content, showing how each page links to another, and makes it easy to navigat) create a CSS stylesheet which will be used on every page (although you may consider a different, plain stylesheet for login pages ect.) Create the graphics that will be used on every page (like the top banner, footer ect.) Create the homepage, using a layout that will be used on all pages (with exeptions like login pages in some cases) but do not add content yet. create a navigation bar, which can be displayed on every page (for easy navigation) (you may want to skip this step if you dont want a navigation bar. create all the other pages, just without the content. (just the title, and a header, as well as anything displayed on all pages ie. logo, and navigation bars) link up the navigation bar (or navigation method) so that all the links work, then test each link. create the graphics for all of the pages. add in the graphics and other content. Now the website is complete, just check it all works, and make sure all of the pictures have an ALT attribute, ect, so it is widely accessible. You now need to find a domain name, make sure you choose the most obvious thing (the first ting a person who didnt know the domain name would guess at, like "yourcompaniesname.com") skip this step if you plan to use a subdomain find a host, make sure you have enough bandwidth, enough space for the site, and any updates which might be added in the future. Make sure it supports all of the languages you have used (like PHP) a make sure that you do not violate their terms of use in any way. Upload your website, and check that everything works, and all of the images apear correctly, ect.
  17. Im not sure if it is possible. But if it is possible, remember that flash files are large, and if every time someone visits your homepage, their browser has to download that file, you bandwidth will be gone in an instant. This would use a massive amount of bandwidth!!You would be beter off trying an animated gif (i have never tried this but i asume you could).if you really need flsh for interactivity, you could create a page where the flash take up the whole page, then use CSS to position <div> s over the flash object.
  18. That would be hard to make a good one. As viruses are produced every single day, and the compannies who produce antiviruses, hire several people to find viruses and how to combat/detect them. However, if you just want to do this for the experience of making a programme like this, you could just use a list of dummy viruses -make a small definitions list, consisting of items like "test123.tyt" and "virusdata.htm"then make the programme search your hard drive for them.
  19. Hmmm. i think most people would get bored of that game fairl fast. but its a good wayof understanding the basics of the language fast...cool thread!
  20. unfortunately it is not possible to give away such items any more. unless both the person recieving and giving has completed all of the quests - this would give you a trade limit of 30,000gold pieces.this is due to trade restrictions to stop real world trading.I use to like giving away massive amounts of gold to newbi players.... the update ruined my fun ;)But if you go to the grand exchange, you should be able to pick one up for around 31,000atleast you could when i last played.
  21. I can often do what i like when i wake up, but then drift back to sleep.or when i wake up, but dont open my eyes or move...Cool thread!
  22. microsoft recoment having AT LEAST 200MB of hard drive space spare, just to allow smooth running. If you mean the minimum hard disk size or partition size. You could run it on a 10 or even 8GB if you wanted to, just without much space for applcations. 20GB is probably the minimum for running it as well as having some multimedia, and applications.
  23. Hi, welcome.Trap 17 is a great forum!!!And the free web hosting is a great extra!
  24. There are many sites on the internet that will give objects or even cash, for participating in surveys, or clicking dd, or giving your email address.im not sure of any URLs just search, there are hundredsof the sites out there.sory i cant be specific.
  25. I really dont think its worth spending time worrying about that.Infact, most websites count bots as hits.It would be hard to remove ALL hits from bots, so you could just leave it.
