Hosting Activiation Not Working Help me please
BuffaloHelp replied to msdeeva's topic in Web Hosting Support
Well I suppose there's no harm in adding two different hostings to one domain name. And if everything worked as accordingly, the nameserver will go down the list and connect to the hostings. But rest assure that Xisto hosting hardly ever goes down unless a full moon is up or someone decided to abuse the SQL connection... I'm kidding. You'll see that Xisto is up 99.98% of the time.Keep us updated -_-Edit: Oh in the mean time, if you upload all files you can view your webpage by typing 69.50.188.18/~yourCPANELname on the address bar. -
Hosting Activiation Not Working Help me please
BuffaloHelp replied to msdeeva's topic in Web Hosting Support
First of all, were you successfully accessed the cPanel?Second, does your cPanel say your domain is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/? If you purchased a domain name and you registered as your domain name during your activation, you must wait until it properly propagates through out internet servers until anything can be associated. Remember to change from your domain nameserver to ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com. Usually it takes anywhere from 12~36 hours. -
Hosting Activiation Not Working Help me please
BuffaloHelp replied to msdeeva's topic in Web Hosting Support
According to your group status you are HOSTED, which means your account should have been set. Try this link http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and enter your cPanel name (which you've entered when you went to process the activation) and the password you designated (again the password you entered when you started the process). Although you may not have received a confirmation, if you can access your cPanel you are all set. Here are some links you should know regarding your hosting with Xisto: cPanel: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or yourdomain.com/cpanel FTP: 69.50.188.18 or ftp.your(sub)domain.com(net) FTP: username and password are the same cPanel username and password -
If the sole purpose of having a dual boot is to distinguish the file saved and hardware drivers for work and play, you can just create two accounts with different hardware profiles installed. Wouldn't that be easier? The only resort of installing a multiple OS is to run a specific program that only run under certain OS or, because for some security reasons, secure OS to link with work. But, if so that files are separated from work and games it's easier to create two different accounts with two different hardware profile settings. Windows XP (any version) offers option called "RUN AS" and "PROFILE" under user profile, hardware profile or by right-clicking the EXE file, and selecting RUN AS.

I cannot tell if you enabled at least one folder from each computer to be shared? You MUST have at least one folder set to be shared otherwise you'll run into problem where you can see the names of the computer but cannot access the computer's folder/directory.In order to share internet either use a router OR you need two NIC for one computer (one for inbound and the other for outbound). Let's set Computer B (the desk top) to be the internet gateway. Install two NIC (network interface card). Set one with Obtain IP automatically and set the other one with static IP address. Install gateway software, such as Sygate, and designate auto obtain NIC as Internet and static IP card as intranet. Of course, if you have a router there's no need to set all these up--just plug in and you are off (be sure that all NICs are set to auto-obtain IP).

Account Suspended? How to know if the account is suspended.
BuffaloHelp replied to DoR's topic in Web Hosting Support
You bet, and thank you OpaQue for clearing things up for us.It is imperative that you always have at least 10 hosting credits at all times! This will eliminate any suspending or terminating of your hosting account. Keep on posting and welcome back to Xisto -_-I'll leave this thread open for few more days then I'll close it. -
Account Suspended? How to know if the account is suspended.
BuffaloHelp replied to DoR's topic in Web Hosting Support
The official answer from the above is you need to reapply for the hosting again. Please make a note that in your application your hosting was terminated due to lack of credits and thus you are reapplying.Edit: You may use the same cPanel login name or different this time. -
Account Suspended? How to know if the account is suspended.
BuffaloHelp replied to DoR's topic in Web Hosting Support
This alarms me. Let's get back to the basics. Did you EVER activate your hosting process? If you have not activated your hosting your credits would've never changed. Were you able to upload and see your hosting? -
Account Suspended? How to know if the account is suspended.
BuffaloHelp replied to DoR's topic in Web Hosting Support
When you were approved on July 21, whatever you had for your hosting credits it was reset to 2 (package #2 resets to 2 after subtracting 30 credits from what you had). You really haven't build up enough credits between July 21st and July 25th. And the next post you made was in August 5th. You barely had enough credits to sustain your hosting. All of your post between July 21st and July 25th were one or two liners. When OpaQue ran a new script (according to him about 2-3 days ago) it seems like your hosting was terminated.Edit: once when your hosting was terminated, your credits does not diminish. Are you sure you have 40 credits as you say? Because I'm seeing -12965 or so. -
Account Suspended? How to know if the account is suspended.
BuffaloHelp replied to DoR's topic in Web Hosting Support
I believe DoR's account is terminated completely. Looks like you did not post anything since your package #2 was activated on July 21st. I think the best way is to start over. Build your credits up and apply for new hosting account. -
Whoa! I didn't know I had another gift! Sorry, I was away during the weekend. I especially like the font you used to write "BUFFALOHELP" N-I-C-E! LOL "BEWARE OF THE BUFFALO" near the shinning of an axe was specially a nicer touch! I think the background flows nicely with the render. I like the way it glistens around the render like it's going through a wall of liquid. Thank you, BlaqueMajik

What Electronic Device Would You Take To Desert Island
BuffaloHelp replied to cumar11's topic in General Discussion
First of all, this does not belong in Technology section I'm moving to General Talk. And I didn't know an island can be a desert...surrounded by a body of water and all. Perhaps you meant to say deserted island? In which case, I'd bring a GPS phone to stay in touch, order groceries and order quick midnight snack (I'm sure a pizza place is open somewhere in the world ) -
Activate My Hosting Again? How To Do It? went negative 4

This is the wrong section to post your question. If you searched the forum, you'll know that it takes at least +4 credits to reanimate your suspended hosting account.Topic closed and moved to Questions & Queries. -

Over the network (either LAN or WAN) two different operating systems can see each other if: 1) Your network or computer workgroup name MUST be identical for any computer to access each other 2) You have to have at least one folder set to "share" on each computer For your cross reference, check out http://forums.xisto.com/topic/21650-network-problems-i-need-some-help/ 3) Restart your systems and see if it works. Windows XP will recognize Windows 98 faster than vice versa.

Frozen Versus Kubi Wallpaper Battle
BuffaloHelp replied to Frozen's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Render wise Frozen has my vote for usage of the sig layout. But the misuse of the Greek alphabets is bit annoying. I hate to be a stickler but basically it says, "L?MPs Z? ?L?KPS??" Basically meaning that your letter A is actually L, letter O is omega as in Z (the last letter) and letter E is S. You were going for the English alphabet looks but I just thought it looked weird. Letters F and R does not exist... -
Gift For Johnny V4.0 4th one. JEE WIZ
BuffaloHelp replied to Kubi's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Nice render. I'm wondering if the background should've been filled with Spades, Hearts, etc... just to keep that "theme" going. Overall, I like the effect...but have I missed an insider's joke? Mr. Rockett? Or is that Mr. Rocket? -
Account Suspended But Are My Files Safe? i have -4.85 Credits
BuffaloHelp replied to jerrylili's topic in Web Hosting Support
jerrylili,First of all, do not name your title after an expression that will viewed as an offensive language. I'm editing your title.Second, you MUST always search the forum before posting in haste. The answer you are seeking is available everywhere and I would ask you and other members from posting the same question over and over and over again. This can be viewed merely to help you gain hosting credits without a merit of legitimate hosting related question.Third, your files are safe until it reaches -30 although I would not recommend that you wait until -30 to bring yourself out of the hole. It's tougher that way. Topic closed. -
As of August 10, 2005 12:05AM (GMT-5) your site appears to have no ads. Without a concrete proof that TRAP 17 forced ads on your site, it's assumed that the ad codes were inserted in your hosting by someone who had access to your hosting. Topic resolved and thread closed. Thank you.

I wasn't going to say anything but boy, you got approved so fast! You must've had great posts to be approved this quick.Yes, OpaQue our General Manager, the big guy and our gracious leader, has worked hard to keep this forum alive and jumping. He has managed to come up with free hosting with one simple condition: post good post and your host will be the most. HA HA I like that little rhyme. I'll coin that phrase.I believe OpaQue stopped accepting donation a while ago. But I'm sure he is most flattered by your enthusiasm. Don't forget that OpaQue also hosts paying hosts that starts at $10 a year (that's right per YEAR) with 50mb and 1GB bandwidth per month, and the plan goes up from there. Check out the main page of the forum and read Xisto - Web Hosting description. If you know of anyone that needs 99.9% reliable host with soooo affordable price, you know who to look for.

Forgot to explain this line: <input type="hidden" name="addendum" value="Thank you. If you are seeing this page, you should be contacted within 48 hours."> When you have this HTML, after a visitor submits the form the next page or redirect page will display the message, Thank you. If you are seeing this page, you should be contacted within 48 hours. If you know how to manipulate you can also have it redirect it to some other page with time delay. The possibilities are endless.

Save Database To Harddrive Save database to harddrive
BuffaloHelp replied to sader's topic in Web Hosting Support
You can backup your database and download into your harddrive. Will that work for you? I'm not proficient with database (I just don't trust anything that's out of my reach although Xisto's been really reliable) so I don't have the working experience. But I'm sure our members can lead you to the right place. You will see it in the cPanel > phpMyadmin > exportand use the option Save As File. When you are saving as a file (select the file type) you will not disturb any current database.
