Simply, no.But people do that anyway regardless of warnings and threats. The proper thing to do is contact the owner of that material and at least attempt to ask for the permission. It's easy to feel that, 'well since the copyright by someone is shown within the graphics so my conscience is clear' but what you are forgetting is that you still decided to use it without 'okay' by the author. Or the fact that 'the other webmaster didn't ask for it so it's okay for me to use it as well' is also not good (I was going to use the word wrong but who am I to say you're wrong or I am right ).There is an exception. If the image/photograph is copyrighted but the original author clearly expressed that ?you may use it without my prior consent? then you are free to do whatever you like to do with it. If you are worried about others using your image/photograph Xisto hosting offers Hot Link Protection where people cannot just link to your site and grab the image/photograph from another site.

Smoking Is Bad For Sex Life Cigarette turns woman Ugly
BuffaloHelp replied to ManOfSTEEL's topic in Health & Fitness
Nicotine, the major ingredient of cigarette, is actually a stimulant. It can bring a steady heartbeat to rise as much as 20%. The reason people understandably think that a cigarette clams the nerves is because other ingredients found in cigarette deprives your red blood cells from carrying the normal amount of oxygen that is needed by your body. When the brain registers as lack of oxygen, it releases endorphin to prevent your body from going into shock. This is what smokers refer to as the buzz--the similar effect of body having too much consuming alcohol at a given time.Other ingredients such as acetone, which you should not be inhaling in the first place, can contribute to build up of fatty acids in your blood vessels. This can cause smaller and thinner passage in the blood vessels to either slow the flow of blood or, eventually, block the vessel altogether causing a heart attack. And we all know that impotency is due to blood not delivering enough to you know where or not able to trap it there. If the rate of flow is diminished the body will not be able to compensate the pressure and thus, Mr. Softy all the way.Tar, another major ingredient, can prevent your lungs from pumping oxygen into your blood stream at a normal rate. It?s like a dirty clogged vacuum cleaner bag that is filled with dirt trying to suck up one last dust, but it just can?t. -

Remote Computer Access i need to know how to do this
BuffaloHelp replied to iwuvcookies's topic in Software
I use remote access to control my work computer. Instead of using the "home' version of remote access, my work place has Windows Terminal Server where I can log into my computer using any standard browser. And all that?s doing is all the calculation, program running, stuffs like that goes on in my work computer and the internet basically shows me the video refreshed of my work computer. Since viewing a still picture is faster than running the actual application (i.e. ActiveX) via server it's very efficient. However, to have WTS is quiet expensive for just a personal usage. -
Ram Question DDR266/PC2100 DIMM on Gigabyte K8U ULi S
BuffaloHelp replied to gotenx's topic in Hardware Workshop
According to the motherboard specification, the recommended RAM specification is Bottom line: If you can bring down the configuration of the motherboard to accommodate to DDR 266MHz, then yes. If not, you need to purchase new RAMs. Please refer to the owner's manual. -

Yaeya! My first monochromatic one! Hey whatever people pick out what's wrong with it, first of all I like it and second I think the font goes with the whole "angry" look of the render. It's like a scene from a movie (animation movie) where the antagonist's breaking point--the background changes to capture the emotion, and the title comes up (my handle) and slams in the screen like, 'in your face' kinda. Thanks again!

Agent Saint-michael Sig gone matrix baby
BuffaloHelp replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Yaeya! The Matrix!I like the render. Excellent job there. You held true to the direction of the light and made it congruent with the background. Agent Smith is evil, it's so evil it's eee-ville! -
Se?or Maniac .:vs:. Saint Michael{w} 1 v 1 grunge
BuffaloHelp replied to Se?or Maniac's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Ohhh the first one is too dark on my monitor. I can barely make out that the first sig is by Senor Maniac. I vote for the second one--St. Michael's? Score Senor Maniac 0 : 1 St. Michael -
You have not offended me or any other moderators. I was replying to your question in detail as possible. If you read some kind of anger in my response I regret that you felt that way. By no means, we moderators take things personally. Perhaps you shouldn't worry about how others might view you. Besides it's a warning, right? You can be good for next 30 days and you have been. Administrators have set up the warning system to ensure that this forum has guidance. Without guidance everything will go out of line sooner or later. It got your attention. And I bet that you will never make the same mistake again. And that's what the warning system is for--it's a nudge. It may not be pretty (as you said) but it does wonders. I'm sure you will be back to zero in no time. Let's work on it, shall we?

Is This Illegal? Music and Internet
BuffaloHelp replied to fsastraps's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Again, I'm going to make it clear as possible.Regarding radio station:Radio stations pay annual undisclosed fee to play a particular artist's song(s) regardless of how many time it gets played. If you listen to the radio station playing song very carefully, you'll notice that not one song plays completely. You always hear some kind of commercial fading in or the next song fading in or out. This is so that not any songs can be recorded as one complete song and treated as a single. To explain further, you can record off of a radio station if that radio station played every song completely, without any commercial or other songs interrupting by fading in or mixed in intro, you can record that song and use it or sell it as a singles. That's another reason that DJs are always talking during the 2-3 second introduction. They are not trying to sound cool or the fact that they like their own voice. It is to prevent others from recording as a singles by interfering with the full content of the song. So, getting back, there's nothing wrong with providing for the sheer pleasure. But the problem for webmasters is that in the eyes of the law, if anyone found providing the material or WAYS of getting the material without paying for the rights you are providing it illegally. If you place a listening box in your homepage but you got that song off of your purchased CD, I can simply click on play and hit my sound recording program/hardware to record it onto my computer. I now have a song without paying. So who would the artist sue? The webmasters that provides the hosting. Yeah, sure the artist can go after the individual pagemasters but the hosting webmasters have more money for punitive damage. -
Your original plan of giving a time allowance would work greatly with this plan. Let's say you give two weeks for other members to vote. After the end of two weeks, you first pick the top 3 candidates and you work yourself down to the next 3 with at least 5 votes. If there aren?t enough votes or there's tie, start a sudden death challenge or tie breaker post. LOL this is going to turn out like the Olympics or sports events where athletics are fighting for the 4th or the 5th place. Yeah, if you can't decide the rest of the crew, just perform a tie breaker challenge. I guess the question is: is two weeks enough? A month is too long? Edit: Additionally, candidates would submit their work to you directly and you can start a topic with polls set to the works selected by you. For example, Member A submitted two works and you select one from that. And then you would start a topic with the poll A, B, C, D, E, F with the art work by A, B, C, D, E and F respectively. I think you can actually omit the candidates names this way, so that voting is really unbiased. Yeah, I think it'll work out well.

A Physics Challenge Can you answer all 13 questions?
BuffaloHelp replied to Totalwar's topic in General Discussion
Starting from answers #5 and on, I think you rounded off too much. According to significant numbers, you should have at least 2 places or one decimal place because gravity = 9.8m/s^2 so there are two significant places. Answer #5 has one (should be 2.05 or 2.1 seconds). Answer #6 has one (should be 6.1 and 14.3 seconds)...etc. I hope the students weren't tested for significant places... -
Johnny, I like the revised crew logo. Nice!Regarding how to pick the number of members and who to pick: Pick the first 3 or 4 on the bases of poll popularity. So if a member A, B and C received 13 votes, member D at 7 and members E, F, G at 5 each respectively, you would then pick members A, B, C, D, E and F. So the first one to reach 5 votes after picking the top 3 or 4, to become the crew member, would be easier than having to include everyone who reaches 5 votes.

Like snlildude87 said, it is pretty sexy indeed. Could I place my input on this? How about getting rid of the black outline and replace it with beveled (raised on all four sides) look--something similar to the "Blue Pill" effect found on How To & Tutorial section titled How To Create A Gel Capsule http://forums.xisto.com/topic/25241-how-to-create-a-gel-capsule-in-photoshop/ ? It'll be like a dome stickers. I don't know if this was what you were going for but for example And what kind of help you need from everybody? I believe that we are all here to give you a hand or two... I thought that you were all ready to go.

I'm surprised your computer lasted that long without any fan!?? CPU cannot sustain the computing power once it goes over 160 F degree and the typical normal idle temperature is 145 F degrees without modifying the cooling system. Heck, if you are going to spend that much money this soon, I'll sell you my Pentium 4 3.06GHz HT with Intel motherboard (brand new in the box still sealed) Or how about AMD 64bit 3200+ with ASUS motherboard (also brand new and sealed)? LOL I can't believe you spent that much on a computer. You should really see Dell or Gateway these days. I can't even put a computer cheaper than what they offer.

This forum has a photo section (it's among your control panel) but it's disabled for a reason--it's against to post personal information/material. It's against TOS. Although next statement can be argued over and over, I'll give my two cents. Have you asked those who posed for this photo for their permission to post the picture on the net? The reason I ask is that the net is far too dangerous than ever before. Some people disapprove the idea of posting photos on the internet for the fear of one's safety. I may be paranoid but there's been a high school student being abducted around my town because her high school's class trip photo was released on someone's blog. And some offender apparently obsessed with the one and the crime erupted. We all should really watch out.

This picture was taken on one cold winter back in 2003. I was traveling back from Ontario when I stopped over at the Niagara Falls to watch the weekly night show. I was mesmerized by the changing colors so I took out my camera and captured what my eyes saw that night. Enjoy. No comments needed.
