  1. I'm assuming you wanted to type "beat him"? I don't know about how fast this computer I used to work on, but it was part of solaris human genome project by Bioinfomatics. This computer had enough power and data storage space to map out the complete sequence of a single chromosome (a complete sequence of DNA links). It says that if a person would write a pair of DNA sequence in 1 second, it will take one human lifetime to complete the task in writing the entire sequence of DNA found in one chromosome. The rumor has it that this mega million dollar computer did it under 8 months. We have computers that can calculate the future and come back from the past because it went too fast It's a matter of who's willing to pay for one to own?
  2. You mean you cannot add to your signature? You first need to save the signature you want to your place: either in your hosting or use free image hosting place such as ImageShack or PhotoBucket. Upload the picture and it will provide you with an image link. Add that link to your signature place. Add and preview to see if it's working properly.
  3. Hey that's very good! And it's dark above? I thought you finger smudged it to "color" the hair. HA HA HA. It's very good, I'll repeat it
  4. Yes, it was I who PMed faith regarding the spelling errors. But only after reading your warning that I realized that having at least your title and description spelled correctly was important. It is said in TOS how important the topic title and its description are. We all have spelling-fart moments but at least pay extra attention to topic title and place topic description. I am grateful that you decided to be self-aware, self-disciplined to correct and look for your mistake It's not easy to find people who are willing to better themselves.
  5. Goosestaf,First of all, thank you for thinking of Xisto. You will notice that at the very top of the page, the link to "Xisto BANNERS" This link will leads you to various banners that are available at your disposal. If you wish to supply your own banner, by all means, please do so. If you would like to share with the rest of forum members please post it here and administrators will be sure to add to the collection.
  6. I agree. The renders were not cut properly. Good effects however. I wonder if it worked out better if renders were larger??I like your choice in font type. Here is a thought: you know the font "Fast And the Furious"? How it streaks like text in motion? Would you think it would work out if the font "Fight Club" had streaks and italicized? (But no motion blur to keep the text crisp and sharp)A very good first attempt and I can see your potential for the next one! Good luck!
  7. Ohh I get to give the final vote?KuBi 7 : Luki 0KuBi, that was excellent! I like your blending and staying true to the direction of the light.Luki, I wonder if the signature would have worked better if it wasn't a pop-out?
  8. I'd like to draw your attention to: Free Web Hosting > The Real World > Life Talk (No post Count) > Sports hosting credit is counted for this topic by the way. You don't need to have subforum, just start a topic titled "England Football" and just post away. Why divide into so many forums that no one can keep up? Free Web Hosting > Entertainment > Music (No post count) you can post here to discuss all your genera mentioned. Don't limit yourself from posting in these subforum just because the exact words are not there. Free Web Hosting > Entertainment > Movies (No post count) you can discuss what movies you saw and give your reviews. Free Web Hosting > The Real World > Life Talk (No post Count) > Real Life Experiences you can post all your theatre going experiences here. Hosting credit counts here. Free Web Hosting > The Real World > Life Talk (No post Count) > Region Affairs or Free Web Hosting > The Real World > Life Talk (No post Count) > Regional again, hosting credit counts. I don?t' know why you cannot use these subforum to post your requests...? Take your time and look through what other subforums we have. It will fit all your needs.
  9. Moving to Computers > Software.
  10. Moving to School and Work section. Thank you for some great brain teasers. Topic closed.
  11. Well for beginning, I'd change your cPanel password to something more complex and let no one know about it. The good rule of thumb is to make your password at least 8 characters long, mixture of alpha-numeric. When I worked as a system security manager, I had everyone follow the password generating rule: pick a letter, pick any 3 digits from your social security number, then pick a letter from your name, pick a letter that's twice removed from the previous letter, repeat it, and then end with another letter from your name. For example, Z123BDDH. Even with this much of cloak if your computer is infested with keylogger or remote viewer, your best password is ineffective. Make sure you sweep your computer for any spyware and possible security leaks. And back up your forum as often as you can and store it in at least two different places. This will ensure that if you happen to lose your backup from your cPanel, you can always retrieve your backup-backup from another place.
  12. Milovorel,Do you remember we had to wait about 2 days before your hosting server "synchronized" with your domain name (the updating the nameserver)? It will be the same. I believe someone who actually migrated the hosting server can answer this better than I can (OpaQue should answer this instead of our members) but I would imagine that you need to upload all your files just as though you are starting from the beginning. The hosting server from Xisto - Web Hosting is different from TRAP 17 hosting computer. However, you will enjoy the same cPanel and its many preloaded scripts. So, it's the same service in different place. And yes, you will still be able to post in this forum. We wouldn't have it any other way
  13. Excellent point, snlildude.I would like point out that Ebook's content and its created source may be copyrighted as well. In which case, please read on "What is Copyright" in What Is...? section. Any copyrighted material, that which you do not have the permission to use as will, cannot be hosted or posted* on TRAP 17.Edit: posted* meaning you cannot post without using the proper quote tags. You may, however, post a link to Ebook materials IF, and only if, the material is legitimately given the sanction to be distributed freely.
  14. The question is, will she appreciate your signature? Does she know what a sig is?I think someone has a crush na na na na na (childish tease). The sparkles around the photograph are bit too much. It takes away the beauty from the person. I would like to see a stronger background starting from the left, fading to the right like a gradient. Keep the same background. I think that will enhance the focus on the photo as well as balancing the whole sig.
  15. HA HA HAI'm under the impression that it IS a gift (not a request). So the more you chant about it, the less likely that someone will give you one You are lucky--lucky in timing. I was here for over 3 months before someone gave me a gift sig. Back then (ah the good old days, or when I was younger ) we didn't have the "request sig" option.Happy early 22 days Birthday!
  16. Nowhere in the rule says that you will be taken only 10 credits away. It says (to paraphrase) you NEED 10 credits to be QUALIFIED for package 1 and 30 for package 2. It does not mention anywhere that it will ONLY take 10 or 30 credits away, respectively. It's been discussed in the support forum as well as in the hosted forum. There's no lesson for others to learn because it's all understood at the beginning. Everyone who applies for packages are fully aware of what is required for free hosting packages, unless TOS wasn't read and understood correctly. It's not something new to this forum or to others. It is up to individuals to know whether package 1 or package 2 is right for them. Seems like you're unhappy with the hosting credit system. I'm sorry you feel that way. But you don't have to bold your words to get your point across. You also don't have to be combative with your words to be satisfied. I'm not sure if your words are sarcastic or genuine... either way, enjoy your hosting but if you feel this forum does not fulfill your hosting needs, we won't hold you up staying here. Congratulations on your free web hosting
  17. First of all, when you question about your hosting either post in HOSTED MEMBER area or Questions & Queries section, NOT in the Free Hosting Request section. I'm moving this to Questions & Queries.Second, when anyone activates hosting account it resets to 2 hosting credits. If activating only took 10 out of your credits, you can build up 1000 hosting credits, take away only 10 and you'll have 990 hosting credits left. This resetting of hosting credits ensures that the hosting credit system is fair and keeps you activated in the forum (as TOS stated). Every 14 minutes or so you lose 0.1 hosting credits. As of August 13th, 3:42am GMT-5 your site is working and I can see your site. If you are having issue viewing your site perhaps it's your ISP or your computer issue. Don't forget to add Xisto.com as your trusted site if you have any unsecured sites blocked through your browser. If you are still hung up on "I didn't receive the confirmation email" again if you have spam filter on your email box simply deleted or it was never delivered by your ISP or your email server.
  18. It doesn't matter which day is called Sunday or which day it starts the week. I believe that in the working force market, a day to rest before starting the grilling 5-6 days of labor followed by peaceful, restful 2 days and on and on is what the world decided. If the week started on Wednesday (the current middle of the week) then Tuesday would be the resting day or Monday and Tuesday would be the resting day. Because, if you figure, the world would want people to work at least 5-6 days anyway. Then naturally to make it easier for people to remember, the working days would fall in the middle of the calendar week, leaving the first and the last days as resting place. The name "Sunday" was given from the Biblical context the Creator rested on the 7th day, a.k.a. Sabbath. Some people feel that the 7th day rest falls on Saturdays. Either way you argue and whatever the name shall be called, the working week will always have the REST day, followed by 5-6 working days. I think the North America is the only country where schools are closed on Saturdays (correct me if I'm wrong). So I?m voting for Sunday, the current start day of the week, because it's a resting day before starting the work week.PS Dooga, I?m moving this to Debates section.
  19. I vote for Cision. At first I didn't like the way the left side's wind like motion over took the whole signature. But as I gazed into the signature I find it very complex yet so simple looking. I just like the way the render's light direction matches with the background's right side's illuminant. Phyre : 3 Luki : 1 Johnny : 1 Cision : 1
  20. I like your dichotomy, a Ying to your Yang. I?m surprise to say that it reminds me of Bill and Ted from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Two separate entity living in two separate lives colliding to form one perfect being. Well, perhaps I'm reading in too much.
  21. Other than the aluminum bodied slickness of the isight, I don't think it's all that impressive. Any Firewire webcam can generate 640x480 resolution at full 30fps. I have ADS Technology's PYRO Firewire webcam http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and it works, if not, just as the same. The difference is that isight has built-in microphone. I have a $20 microphone with echo suppressor (by SONY) that works just as effective. So the bottom line is that isight is all in one design. But for far less for the money, I can achieve the same quality and functionality. By the way, I can never get to transmit full 30fps unless I'm on a T1 line (since upload speed for home broadband is limited anywhere from 160kbs to 780kbs).
  22. Hello Taylor (motionsickness)Welcome to Xisto Free Web Hosting and the best discussion forum ever! I am pleased to see many new members these days, especially those who are interested in many aspects of web-designing. As a company photographer myself I'd like to see some of your works in the future. We have graphics and Photoshop large piece dedicated section that I'm sure you'll find it intriguing. Below this post you will find some of links that may solve your questions. Please feel free to ask around and dig deep into this forum for your quest for knowledge or just simply topics to place your two cents.
  23. I've seen one member using Mambo Open Source on the Xisto hosted page. But in my opinion it loads slower than anything else. I'm sure it's one of the best but when it loads slowly, I tend to go somewhere else ya know?Edit: This topic was resolved and thread is now closed. If you'd like to discuss different topic or continue discussing Mambo please post to Internet > Website discussion > Webdesigning tools and software discussion.
  24. Sierben (Aevum Decessus), it's most excellent that you decided to join us. You will find some of useful links in my signature. If there are any questions please feel free to ask around. We are all happy to assist one another.DeVry Univeristy, eh? I know someone attending that University but I'm not sure if it's in the same states (I'm guessing that there are at least one per state?). Computer hardwares are exciting, ain't it? A question, have you figured out how to connect PC to PC to harness their power to create a wholesome computer? For example, I have 200 Pentium 3 400MHz computers just sitting down. I've heard that there's a way I can connect all those CPU powers to run like Pentium 4 6GHz. Or did someone just yank my chain? If you know or figured it out won't you write a tutorial about it? That would be nice.Welcome to Xisto and I hope you will be with us for a long time. That is unless you really get pulled over by cops for carrying one too many air-guns. LOL. I know what you mean--I was pulled over for speeding once and I forgot that I had RWS CO2 hand gun in my trunk, and boy those troopers showed up real fast!
