I wish to block anonymous proxies only. Why would someone in a legitimate circumstance require an anonymous one lol.

Well all though these days I do mostly everything locally with my own chosen tools, it's nice to hear it finally has it.Wonder what changed there mind lol.

A Logical Arguement For The Legalization Of Marijuana
Chesso replied to SilverFox1405241541's topic in General Discussion
Making it legal would be plain stupid. If you think the majority of anyone that touches that drug takes it right from the properly and naturaly grown plant your really kidding yourself.First of all, most addicts use *spin*, which is tobacco (so tobacco and pot, not just pot), therefore tobacco would not be worse if they have both lmao.People rarely smoke untainted pot, most of it has been modified in some fashion and is no where near as healthy or safe as properly natural grown plant. And chances are if they smoke pot, they smoke tobacco and cigarettes as well (not all but many).Or at least it seems to be the case here in NSW of AU (and Iv'e lived in many areas all around these types). So to answer your question, no, because most of them combined something just as if not more dangerous with it's use, therefore it is not more beneficial. -
I skipped a lot of replies, so please excuse me if my question might have been answered.Anyway, so does this affect Windows Live Only? Because I haven't recieved any of these messages and a lot of people I know refuse to use it as well. Then again, most of the people on my list are web developers, software programmers and such, so there not exactly dumb with a PC lol.

I never really liked Yahoo mail, having unlimited emails doesn't really change anything. But then again I wouldn't need that many, heck I don't even need as much as Gmail offers and I think thats what a lot of these silly things rely on.It's just meant as hype.

What I'm thinking is, that you want to create a basic timestamp in mySQL.Setup your (perhaps javascript timer) to the appropriate time, and if the page changes or refreshes (or however you handle it) compare the original beginning timestamp, with a newly fresh calculated one to re-calculate the timer display. If they stay on the page, and the timer runs out, then you'll need to still do the timestamp query and comparison (to make sure they didn't mess with the JS code), and complete it, or if they come back to the page, and it's done, show it complete and carry on.Anyway, basically something along those lines I'm thinking.

Wow LOL, never knew about all that, but I suppose it isn't surprising.Wasn't there rumours that old Billy G stole from Apple or some such?Hard to keep up with Microsoft's pre and current history, there is just too much lol.

Stop anything from making it ur homepage!
Chesso replied to Thunder1405241469's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I never knew you could stop that from happening, although I don't use Internet Explorer on my Windows installations anymore, I usually kill or cripple it permanently. So this basically stops website and what not, from changing your home page?I remember years ago where little things like this, used to be very annoying. -
So it has syntax highlighting and such in the web editor?Sounds like it finally has some more use full features, it'll make viewing and modifying code online a heck of a lot more enjoyable lol. What version are we running at the moment (haven't checked recently)?

Hi lonelym,Yes GameMaker has both a Drag and Drop approach to game making and a scripting language available. There is quite a bit you can do with the drag and drop portion of game making, and if this isn't sufficient, you can jump right into the scripting side of things with a lot more flexibility.I have never been a huge fan of making games in game maker, but I started way back with programming with DirectX, so that will always be my preference (a lot harder than game maker lol).My 14 year old brother (around 12 at the time), managed to make a few small games on his own using game maker 5 (there now up to game maker 7) with the drag and drop portion and he is autistic. But I would always recommend learning the scripting (they have a really good forum to get help from, even with specific issues or game play elements) as it will unlock a lot more potential for you.If your interested in perhaps SNES style RPG's, I would go for RPG Maker, it has also a drag and drop type approach (although the newer RPG Maker XP has includes a scripting language, so it is a lot more customizable and powerful).Hope this information helps .

Tor alone won't do much lol.

Hello, I have tried a few simple methods in PHP to detect and block proxies but it always fails (I tested on an easy to find online list, and not a single one was blocked, they all got the ok message). It was only a simple X_FORWARD thingy, but even fromy my extensive searches, I find more information about how to get around detection, and not enough of how to detect lol.Is there reasonable solution, aside from storing a massive list stamping the bandwidth into the ground (and not to mention page speed).I don't know if the CPanel has anything included, but I am looking for a general solution (a mate of mine runs a site and needs this pretty bad). Thanks .

I am absolutely there on you with that one again lol. Still can't get over the fact that it accepts so much English into in-place of pure mathematical designated symbols, it quite frankly kicks butt. Unit conversion is definitely one of the most handiest features, being able to go back and forth without a hitch, some plain English goes a long way with Google . What will they do next, eh lol.

Indeed as you said, it depends on the person.I skateboarded for 9 years on and off, and perhaps in later stages with enough to be a professional. However I have watched 100's skateboard video's, played every single tony hawk game ever made, the first skate games made (like in california games), sk8, sk8 2, andy mcdonals game, thrasher skate and destroy, grind session etc etc.But I'll tell you what, it has no effect on my skateboarding what so ever, the only effect is my attitude towards the newbies, as alot of them turned out to be "omg tony hawks mannnn" kind of people.I highly doubt GT of NFS will affect any future driving for me either, nothing I watch that's over top does, I'm far too sensible and I suppose if your the opposite, you might say "scared" of the effects.Skateboarding for example (where things can be alot more controlled and less deadly than car mostly), I tried the *all out* approach of trying something stupid I knew I could not do (like alot of people do on a daily basis) and found out from the first attempt that it sucked. So I no longer consider that option, that's for sure, but I decided that before tony hawks came along lol.

Slavehack An Online Hacker pwnage game
Chesso replied to SilverFox1405241541's topic in Computer Gaming
Lonebyrd, I doubt it is an exact copy (I moderated the forums there for like a year, was the first and longest standing staff member and know SF as well). If that's a complete copy.... from the site.... it is in serious need of a re-write. -
Correct you would have to be extremely careless to require using "require". I also do not use include_once as I don't do any loops anywhere near an include. All testing on my end is done locally, uploaded when ready, and then re-tested online before making the changes etc public. Seems to work best for me.

Coding Html Properly In The New Age
Chesso replied to SilverFox1405241541's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I just build everything for FireFox and it seems to generate, not good but usable in Internet Explorer 5/6 and presumably above. I have no idea why anyone would replace <br /> or <br> with a <div> tag unless they are looking for specific control over the spacing between line breaks (unless the br tag can be styled to get the same effect?). P.S.: Ajax is getting old and well out-dated, majority seem to be going PHP. -
I think this is probably my first article/tutorial on here . I have been playing around with a new site lately, and co-incidentally, as soon as I started with the PHP etc, I have people on MSN Messenger flooding me with questions, mostly in the form of "help me, help me" etc. Well, a few small tips and explanations on them I gave over MSN Messenger, gave me the idea of posting an article/tutorial (or whatever you want to call it) here about it. RELATIVE PATHING: The first thing to get out of the way, is relative pathing. I would hope that most people are already using this, but surprisingly many newer web developers aren't (I do of course as I come from a heavy list of general programming and scripting language background). The basic essence of relative pathing is merely using path's to a file, folder etc in a "relative" rather than "full" manner, for example: Let's say you are messing around in the file editor of your Asta Host control panel, you would normally put you index file in the WWW folder (or at least I do), so let us assume that you are working with your index file in this folder for ease of use. Some people may use a "full" path to access, say, there contact page (which also resides in the WWW directory directly) like so: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ But this is completely unnecessary, we can instead, use "relative" pathing like so: contact.html Wow it's much shorter isn't it? This is because (ideally in this article/tutorial) you have linked this in your index file, we are working with a file that resides in the exact same directory as our contact file, so we don't need to do anything but reference the actual filename. However, what to do if the file you wish to access resides in directories deeper from the file we are working with, or perhaps the file resides in directories higher up from the file we are working with. Well in the case of the former: myfolder/myfile.html Of course if it were several folders deeper, we would add them also, it's no differant then a full path, except that we remove the web address from the picture. Now in the case of the latter: ../myfolder/myfile.html This one takes a bit of a different approach, the ../ basically tells it to go backwards by one directory/folder. So for example, you have a members folder in your WWW folder, you are working in members.html or what ever, but you need to access/include a database connection file from the DB folder which is in the WWW folder also. In this case, we do like above, ../ from our members folder (which will takes up back to the WWW folder), ../DB (takes us back to the DB folder in the WWW folder) ../DB/file.php (should be obvious now ). If you want to go back more than 1 directory/folder, just use more ../'s. USING INCLUDE: There is more than 1 way to use this, and several different calls, but primarily I just use include 'file'; This statement is very much like using external CSS and Javascript (although obviously different), but a similar concept. It will literally "include" all code from the file you specify inbetween the quotes, as if it was there to begin with. Why is this useful? Well we could easily split our sites layout up into several files, I personally have a header, menu and footer (the main content file being the one we use the include statements in). You'll basically want to move any header specific code to a seperate file, menu specific code to a seperate file and footer specific code to a seperate file. Don't worry, other than this, there is no other change necessary what so ever (you don't need to go messing around with opening/closing html tags or php tags etc, as I said, it will literally include the code from the file, as if it had been placed in there manually). This is extremely usefull, as we can re-use code from these files, in all of our main files, just like we do with external CSS and Javascript files. And as you might already imagine, 1 change to any of these external files we include, all of our "main" files including them will be all updated automatically (no need to manually edit every single main file). Ok, so whether you are running things locally (with something like WAMP Server or EasyPHP), or doing things via the file editor in the Asta Host hosting control panel (CPanel), let's do a very simple test that should help enlighten you as to what exactly happens. You will need to create 2 PHP files, name 1 of them main.php (our core file in this test), and header.php (the file we will include from our main.php file). In the header.php file, put: <?php echo "<h1>OUR HEADER</h1>"; ?> And in our main.php file, put: <?php include 'header.php'; ?><p>Look our header has been *included* above.</p> After saving the changes to these files after there creation, go ahead and try accessing main.php, hopefully you should get the h1 HTML code place at the very top of the generate page, and our little paragraph below it. As we used the include statement to include our header.php file above the paragraph html, it of course is generate first and above. Well that's it for now, this has ended up much longer than I had intended but I tried to write it so most people should be able to understand it. I was going to add some explanatory material on creating what I call "constants" and using them in conjunction with both "relative pathing" and "file includes". That particular part, would basically help you to have core header, menu, footer etc files in your main (or WWW directory if that's the case) and yet be able to access these in pages in other folders still using "relative pathing" as oppose to "full pathing". Any comments, feedback, suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated (especially when I one day intend to build up a site filled with such articles/tutorials on many different programming and scripting languages).

But what does god and/or jesus consider to be harming ones body.Because technically just living itself (and every kind of action that derives from it) ends up in harm at some stage (just like alcohol, ciggarettes and illegal drugs). So it's kind of like yeah..... what to do lol.

Spider Man 3 sucked..... it actually sounded better than it was for me lmao.Vista has more than a new interface, but the fact is alot of people aren't going to see or care about the other stuff all that much. So the interface change is all alot of people may see.I like a nice smooth GUI, but if it's as boggy as I have heard (*if*), that alone puts me off as well as the basic requirements. You'd think they could improve it, not just slap more crap over it.When's the last time you saw Microsoft release an update that actually improves performance of anything, you can't tell me there OS's ship out the door with perfection lol, and what about bugs that were present in Windows 95 and still reside today in WinXP and Windows Server 2003........Wonder if they fixed those in Vista..... might have been one reason why it took so long.

Sites that try to be annoying on purpose....... sounds like a new fad lol.Maybe like that 1 million pixel site thingo, funny idea but annoying to look at.

Hey now don't forget CSS's text-align property can have undesired effects (center text instead of an object/container or center both). They really need one for text only and one for objects/containers.Otherwise you got to use even more code to stop it from centering things you don't want it to. -

Definitely good advice. You can get away with some of those things with a bit of moderation in mind, but I have known a few people to go way, way, wayyyy overboard. -
Coding Html Properly In The New Age
Chesso replied to SilverFox1405241541's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well mostly self closing tags are there because these tags have no need for an additional close tag. However, without some hard-coded checking, how will the parser know when these tags have finished? The answer was of course, self-closing them .I also use the XHTML doctype (1.0 transitional).By the way I am pretty sure P isn't a self closing tag, it stands for Paragraph and you normally have the paragraphed text within it (e.g. <p>This is a paragraph.</p>).Oh and don't forget code indenting, it's extremely usefull for readability for future maintenance. The simplest form is to push code in by 1 line, every time it goes inside of something else, and when you start closing those tags off, you start indenting back to the left side until the start tag which has no indendtation, ends up back that way.
