Windows Vienna Next Version of Windows
Chesso replied to delivi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
What? change how we do things?BUT I LIKE MY START MENU *cries*. It just isn't fair.......lol.Yeah I heard about the one being released after Vista awhile back, I figured it was going to be the major one, but it seems the one after will be. -
I think you might need to add an epileptic warning for that first url lmao.It hurt my eyes right away.
-
Self destrucing, wtf? lol that sounds pretty cool indeed.Mission Impossible style!!! hahaha.Even destrucable video's eh, that's funny.I might have to give this a try.
-
lol nah it's all good.I'm waiting for a future freelance work payment until I go and buy the new processor, in the mean time I'm doing the actual freelance work I spoke of, and setting the second installation up like the first one (aside from updated software, and better approaches to certain things etc).Problem is though I only found 1 online/shop in Australia that has my processor and it's not even a good one.I'm stuck on old 478PIN and everyones selling 775 now . (I use a Celeron D, screw blowing money of straight P4's).

That link article seems more like there doing it the other way around (exploiting google/youtube).As if youtube needs Viacom content to get a good userbase, pffft.

Cool thanks, I'm using older IDE though not SATA or anything like that (older ATA I should say rather than the newer SATA).The drive and partition(s) themselves are set as primary and bootable, just like the main disk and is active of course, I have it dual-booting at the moment. The main purpose is that I bought WinXP with SP2 intergrated (the old one was XP Home and slipstreamed SP1 or what ever, step-father got it for me), and having them dual-booted so I can have the new one all setup while I have the old one with everything I need for reference or exchange if necessary, I'm just hoping when I replace my CPU the newer installation won't die on me lol (my old cpu, the fan and heatsink is buggered and only has a temp fix, but the heat problem with it is becoming increasingly worse).
-
Well all drives/partitions are set as primary, meaning they are bootable (according to windows atleas) and I know about the jumper settings, I had trouble with multiple drives and that in particular a few years ago.Good point, I'll give it a shot, once I get everything migrated manually (I don't trust that file/settings transfer wizard).

May I suggest, revising and re-formatting this text (and if it is gained from somewhere else word, for word, use the QUOTE tags and add the source URL if applicable).
-
I think they are quite within there rights, look at the size of the site and all it's content, they can't monitor every tiny little spec of dust, no one can. They also can't be 100% certain of what is actually copyrighted at any given moment and what is not, just because they put up South Park episodes, doesn't mean that South Park itself is licensed in a fashion that doesn't allow this (there are many shows that are allowed to be distributed in this fashion). So if someone doesn't like it and has a legal reason why it shouldn't be there, all they gotta do is tell them.
-
I'm going with 10/10, sure there is plenty of things they could do to make it better for *me*, but as it is, it's not really a problem or a nuisance in any manner.I can usually find exactly what I want, in a reasonably sufficient amount of time, gmail/google mail works well enough (although a tad slowish), the interfaces are simple and fairly clean and easy enough to use.Heck even the calculator is good lol.

I most definitely agree, I have no plans for even trialling Windows Vista unless I get really, really, really bored!!!!!There's no way my hardware (RAM/HD/GPU/CPU) would be able to handle the OS and average use in it's current state and considering how long they took to roll this out, they could have done much better. Why didn't they just improve on XP........ or 2003 in a manner that actually makes sense. I'm sure we would all expect the requirements to boost a little, especially for all the niceties but it's sounding a bit far too ridiculous.

To be more specific, I have Windows XP Home with Service Pack 1 currently installed on my main (but old) 20gb hard disk.I have recently installed Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 intergrated on my other primary hard disk (I made a new partition for it of 20gb's, meaning this hard disk has 2 partitions, D:\ and F:\, F:\ has the new WinXP Home SP2 installation). If I remove my main hard disk, and hook up my other hard disk as the only one (which now has WinXP Home SP2) will it boot up just fine? or do I need to do anything special. My plan is to fix up the second one like my first one without all the bloat and crap, and on a more reliable hard disk and then just chuck the old one away and get another good one. This way I can eventually have and retain all my configuration, drivers, software and there settings, all work related data setup etc.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah true that is pretty sweet. We are talking producing yesterdays console content here though, so the price/cost should be very low.How much on average would you pay for one? or are there any other alternatives that might work as well but on a cheaper scale. Your right about using this kind of memory, it should be much faster and more reliable than cd/dvd's etc (just like the old catridges eh, man could those things take an absolute beating and still push on for years).
-
All mine and my missus ones appear to be just fine.I doubt they would have only changed a few and not all, but who knows.
-
Yeah true, I meant CD as opposed to DVD mostly based on cost and the fact that DVD size for a purely 2D game would be overboard.I guess if someone wanted to go that far... lol, how big can these SHDC SD cards get? and what kind of gains do they have over CD/DVD?
-
It definitely would, and the main points would be the fact that it was purely optimized for 2D (creating alot of possibilities with 2D), of course having much larger storage of game data than before (CD/DVD even, I mean heck 2D much less data, less loading time , probably CD or something custom). And from a developer standpoint the best feature, would be a very complete set of developer tools. You would of course make the raw API highly exposable as you would in other consoles but also have an IDE overtop to handle complexity for certain things, basically making development easier for those that wish it, or want to spend more time on other aspects. But yeah, I think it'd be awesome.

I agree with graffiti, it is extremely usefull to be able to see my current credit amount of the main forum pages, I always check it when coming here to make sure I'm all good .By the way, what is that site you were speaking of? I haven't heard of anyone here having any real complaints that could not be resolved and quite well I might add. So if you still have it, I may write my own little review to help, I really don't believe Xisto nor it's staff deserve any bad mouthing.I can understand some people being stroppy with the more stricter guidelines/rules for posting more usefull information of a technical nature, but they probably don't understand about the alternative to Xisto and why it exists etc. -
Yup I also have my router running 24/7 but only because it's currently in my brothers room.To clarify I have a modem/router (all in one package) from Telstra for my internet, so the below information is based on my experience with those.1. They can generate more heat than you would think if running for quite some time.2. Leaving it when you really don't need it on will waste more electricity.3. Leaving it on for extended period of time will keep you the same assigned IP address, if you turn it off while not in use and then re-boot later you will probably be assigned a fresh one (help with prevention of attacks in some fashion I would imagine?).4. While I'm sure it doesn't take a whole lot, IT WILL use more of your bandwidth that will accumulate over time.I have had quite a few troublesome heat issues in summer when leaving it on for extended periods, so I tend to take the effort to turn it off when it isn't needed during these periods of great daily heat lol.

Sorry I wasn't sure what the appropriate category would be for this. Now, I have had some "visions" so to speak and great interest in (though unfortunate I am not a hardware engineer lol) seeing a purely 2D based console system. While I know 3D is the main thing these days, and I would assume there is 2D functionality within the API's of newer systems like PS2/PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii etc.It would be great to see a 2D console (very cheap I would imagine) but very optimized for 2D games, and have a much simpler programming interface than old generation consoles and by far easier than current ones (as they are geared to 3D).The differences being, geared to 2D gaming, cheaper, optimized purely for 2D, and with an easier programming interface or toolsets, many more people could jump in and develop nice games, man it would be nice to see those old SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) RPG games and what not again.I guess it's more a pipe dream, but I tell you what, if no one else does it and when I one day have the oppoturnity to jump right into all this I most definitely want to give it a shot!!!!!Anyway this post is mainly to ask what people think of my idea? Is it something you think people would take to if it was done?

Download Movies From Websites Like Youtube
Chesso replied to master_nero's topic in Security issues & Exploits
master_nero, you sir are absolutely awesome!!!!Me and the missus were watching some humerous stuff on youtube and I have been wondering if there was anything like this about so we could save it to harddisk and show it to her family (as they have an extremely low bandwidth limit, 400mb monthly lol). -
Logo Designs I Created For My 2 New Websites rate the logos

Aside from being a bit rough around the edges of the left imagery I think it looks fantastic.Colour scheming and things you can fix up and find out what suites best over time, just have play with it from time to time.Btw if your into Flash (Iv'e been making a platform game for learning flash and actionscript, I have programming experience and game programming so it's not too hard, but anyway), you can create some very smooth hand drawn shapes quite easily. As it's vector based for drawing, you could use the brush tool to free-hand draw your butterfly and any other shapes with a high smoothing level and then just drag any edges that are too thin/thick in or out. So basically you can get some pretty smooth graphics .I use photoshop myself, but am unsure of any methods of achieving the same result as I explained you could do in flash.
