  1. Not really because if god created everything else, who created god? The question is never ending, even the first time I ever thought about that, it was the first thing that came to mind. EDIT: And for those that love the "he just was" line well here is mine "we just were", same logic.
  2. Yeah I haven't copped any of these messages recently, although I do somewhat remember getting a link from someone saying it was me, but I don't know if it was related to this or not.
  3. Is it old news? I never even knew about it until reading this lol.Either that or I forgot about it, it sounds interesting, so I should be able to like tie this to my gmail account and stuff.
  4. Well I know some odd colour combinations can look pretty nice if used correctly, but I personally prefer to stick to base colour schemes.Basically using the same colour but shaded differently across the site (like much darker for borders of tabular data, lighter for backgrounds and things like that).
  5. If you have the option, connect it into another PC temporarily to see if you can't get the files off it through normal transfer means (meaning you boot from another drive/os installation and access your one as a secondary/non primary drive).I got to do the same thing (because of major hardware changes).
  6. I'm also with Windows XP, I don't much like the sound of Vista (is it even really needed, probably not), it has the most of everything really and it's the most widely supported at this time.
  7. This does sound interesting, but the link doesn't work anymore? (something about updating there site), any other examples of this?
  8. I always prefer my own forums that I create from scratch (or based on previous ones I have made), it's fun (and of course frustrating at times) and I get exactly what I want need, exactly how I want or need it.I also prefer to have it on my own hosting (whatever that may be), I wouldn't like to have hosting here, there and everywhere.
  9. Yeah don't worry too much, as long as you have this host name server for your domain pointing to here it will correct it self in time.I have had several issues like this with different hosts and different domains, I think it just takes some time before it's all working properly. All I remember doing and having it eventually correct it self (it's taken nearly up to a week before), is to set my hosting to use my chosen domain, and have that domain setup to the name server (or whatever people call them), like where I use optinom for my domain, they let me set it up there.Bit if it's working for some people, then I'd say you have already done this or it will not work at all lol.
  10. Yeah I might have to try and get a hold of them tomorrow and see if I can get this task all cleared up, I'd hate to have to send it all off and find it out it's completely wrong lol. Thanks for the help jimmy!
  11. Yeah that's what I was thinking, it's just that they didn't state it and some things said in it make me think word, so I was confused about it lol.I usually ring them and ask but they changed to an annoying voice thing with buttons that takes forever to get through to a real person recently, and I got a call back for some clarification on something I finally got done, nearly a week after I emailed them..... lol.
  12. Yeah I thought excel too, but it mentions "designing" a "document" like I have in the past using word (with graphics and stuff, like clipart), is that feasible in excel?
  13. And then there is tabular data in the pdf (student name, course code, course name, date course commences, date paid and course fee). This is one of the tasks for an assignment (for the course I am doing via correspondence, called "Information Technology Certificate III"). I have (I believe) managed everything else the assignment requires, but I am stuck on a few things about this particular task. Like, am I supposed to use Word or Excel? (it is involving formulas and this VLOOKUP function they mention) and I wonder due to the norm of asking me to create a Word, then Excel then Access document (this task resides inbetween ones asking me to create a word document, and the n an access one). How and where do I insert these formulas and make use of this VLOOKUP function, They don't even really give any details as to how they want it formated (and this external table and what not, how does it relate etc). I really wish they would provide basic samples of what *they* expect, I have a learning materials CD for all of the current modules that have been sent to me, but none of them give me any information about some of this (like using formula's in word itself not excelt and this VLOOKUP function and how they want it done). Any help is greatly appreciated, this would be my 3rd assignment done in one day if I can get this task done (I'm working hard) and still searching for answers lol.
  14. Yeah you just got to remember that people and places can't have everything perfect all the time, you may have just gotten unlucky.Try contacting them and see the problem can't be resolved eh?
  15. Any job hunting advice for a 21 year old in Sydney with next to no experience LOL.Well I went back and did Year 9 and 10 through OTEN (as I dropped out a bit too early when I was younger) and I'm doing Information Technology Certificate III, but finding work is a bit of a pain.Is there any types of work I should look out for?I might have a possible lead today that is sort of close (muffin factor, I could be a muffin man lmao).
  16. It can be more difficult than immediately percieved, even if you are a beginner.Because you really do need to have a good think about what kind of space, bandwidth and features you not only need right there and then, but what you may need in the future (does the host have hassle free upgrade paths so you can get more if you need it later?).How reliable is a host, do I need features that it may or may not have? etc.
  17. Hey it's good that you at least tried!I also tried but the tree in my backyard I soon found out to be occupied by bee's quite often .At one stage I used to go with a couple of friends on my pushy up the road, and there was like a clearing not being used and we got some materials and messed around there. That or I pulled up all the matresses and pillows and lounges and stuff in the house and went crazy lol .
  18. Yeah learning even the fundamentals of a more complete language like any of the Pascal/C variants will make things a lot easier to hop and skip around. Because most languages of all types will use a fair bit from others (even the basic things like variables and there types, in-built routines, conditional statement, case/switch statements, for/while loops etc).
  19. Self refreshing is the really the only way to go I think? It usually works out well because the content of the page will be cached anyway, so it's quick, I'm not sure exactly how I do it but it seems to be an immediate on screen update (I'll have to check when I have time), but if things like queries on pages are a problem, try using a form of caching pages to help that across the board if it's feasible.
  20. It can be cheaper to build your own house I suppose, but you would have to restrict yourself unless your dreams are very boring/plain in order to achieve that goal.
  21. Wow point taken, that guy is insanely good lol. That must take a whole lot of years of practice and head aches getting to that sort of level :|.
  22. Yeah I will second/third that one.I always opt to build a web site locally (using something like WAMP5 or EasyPHP if I need PHP/mySQL in the website), so the host is one of the last things I need to worry about (because I can have the site running and for the most part fully functional before needing to be concerned about things like that).
  23. What do you mean by digital painting (was this done by literal hand or on a PC, maybe using one of those pen things?).Either way it looks amazing though, I don't think I could ever have the patience with anything graphical to ever be that good lol.
  24. Yeah if you really want to get into application development at some point, do not go for ruby first, it is only going to help confuse you in the long run.I pretty much started out with Visual Basic 6, Borland Delphi 7 and C/C++ (using Dev-CPP) and also a little bit of Win32 Assembly. For a pure hobby I recommend Delphi 7 and C/C++, but if you ever wanted to step into the professional and profitable market, you would have to consider learning the .NET variants of these like VB.NET/Delphi.NET and C#.Hope that helps (mIRC scripting can also be very fun!).
