  1. While you *can* lose 2kg, it's really not a good idea. It causes rebounds and such in the body and can hurt you a lot more than it helps. It's best to take it slow so your body can adjust accordingly ("safe" amounts are around 1.5 pounds per month).
  2. I've tried to get into the drop shipping thing without any luck. I've gone through many sites and they all have prices that are at about the same as things cost in the store and such, and the ones that seem "decent" are already being undercut on sites like eBay (ex. the drop shipper will sell x item to you for $4.99 but people on eBay already sell them for $3.99). The only way I've found to make any type of profit at all is to buy in mass bulk (thousands of an item) and sell like that, and that requires a lot of up-front capital.
  3. This right here. We need more transparency as to what's going on. While I'm not against the "wait until things are updated" stance, it would be a lot better for everyone (and lead to far less questions and complaints) if updates were given and things were more open to the members. Sitting around wondering is what causes the influx of negative remarks/post/threads and questions.
  4. To find all of the new posts made since your last visit, check out the top right side of the forums for the "View New Content" link. This will show a listing of only the new topics and posts since your last visit, which makes it easier to keep up!
  5. This happens elsewhere too. I run into it all the time dealing with people from Craigslist, as a seller. People will even ask you to hold things for a couple days so they can get time off work or whatever, then not come and never respond to phone calls or anything. It's annoying because you lose out on sales as a result. It's one of the reasons I rarely deal with people "in person" anymore. It's just a major hassle because of the few (seemingly large number of) people who do this, and it really destroys the entire experience.
  6. To answer this question, they are new networks that "don't annoy visitors." Whether you find them annoying or not is really up to each person, but some like them more since they are more related to the topic and aren't flashy banners. Others dislike them because they seem like real links but aren't. Actually, this site uses (or used) them in the past for visitors that weren't registered/logged in.
  7. Happy new year all! I'm a bit late too.The positive part of this is that we made it past December 21st!
  8. Mine was a bit odd this year. Basically our family was split into three different locations. It still went alright though!
  9. Thanks a lot for the new update, Velma! I got my last email this morning so things are working (at least right now).I am curious as to how often "running regularly" is. In the past, it's been variable over a huge window (sometimes up to a week), so knowing about when they should be updated would help when it comes to reporting bugs and such.
  10. Hey, welcome to the community! There's a lot you can learn here, as well as a lot to each others, so just dig in and enjoy your stay, .
  11. You really should link to the site here as well, since it's definitely on topic.I didn't realize Moodle had grades though -- interesting. I was looking into the system a long time ago but never really got into it, so I'm guessing it's evolved a lot.I can actually use it for a new project I'm working on though! Time to go back into research on it, .
  12. This. I think too many people get hung up on relationshiops that just aren't going to go anywhere, when it'd be best to just drop it and move on. People are constantly being taken advantage of those they "love" because the other person doesn't feel the same way and uses them.
  13. I could definitely use tutorials when it comes to secure coding. I'm writing a CMS right now and have problems with the security side of it.Also, information on things like using classes would help (ex. classes for database queries, classes for outputting articles, etc.). I've been designing mine with... what is it, "procedural?" More or less just a lot of functions. I'd rather go with classes and such but don't fully understand how they'd be applied.
  14. Awesome information! I'd love to hear more about these changes and such. Especially at this point in the site's life, I think being more communicative to the community as to changes, effects, etc. is pretty important. It helps us see that things are happening, as well as better understand the direction and how they impact us as users.
  15. This, I think is the most important thing. Keeping in constant contact. The biggest problem I've seen people go through when it comes to long distance relationships is cutting down on contact, calling once a week or less often, and things drift apart because of it.
  16. I'm glad you got your problems resolved (or so I think?) with the system! Getting new headphones is usually recommended just because different people have different listening styles -- for example, headphones I like my friends may not, and the ones they like I may not.Regarding how many songs it can fit, it really depends on the quality of the song rips and how much storage the MP3 player has. Most of my songs are around 3 MB's and I use an 8GB iPod Touch (which has about 6.5 usable) which essentially means I can hold over 2,000 songs before it's full. There are devices with significantly more memory than that though!
  17. I completely see where you're coming from. I catch on to technology quick so I'm able to adapt easily between different OS's and such. My biggest choice is whether or not I want to follow open source. While iOS definitely has some nice things, I sway a bit more towards Android just because it's able to be developed on by *anyone*. Not being able to write an iOS app without an Apple PC/laptop, for example, is a big turn-off for me.
  18. Whether or not you are "cheating" really depends on the person giving their input. To me, thoughts are just that: thoughts. To others, thoughts are the predecessor to taking action (and therefore often lead to action). People who feel that way would be more likely to consider impure thoughts as cheating, although the way I see it, if nothing has happened there's no problem.
  19. I'm kind of here and away myself again. It's mostly because the inactivity causes a perpetual cycle -- when people go inactive, others do. When others are inactive, more people do as well. And this cycle continues until it dies off (as it is now, where the people who actually take part are somewhat few and far between).I do still drop by from time to time though to take part in any discussions that have happened recently!
  20. Technically you can get viruses from anything. There have even been situations where popular sites get hacked and end up with malware. With that said, I haven't heard any issues with playing FB's games, although I think anyone is able to create their own apps and upload them (I don't think they have any type of "quality assurance" testers before you can take your new apps live). To be honest, it isn't something I've really thought about/worried about...
  21. Hey Aslam, welcome! One thing I want to bring up is that if you're here to get information from people, you should also try to share your knowledge as well. The collective group of people is what helps the most, and you surely know things others could benefit from knowing as well!Have fun and if there are any questions don't hesitate to ask.
  22. The sad thing is that there are people capitalizing on this, selling things like underground bunkers that will save people from whatever happens. I'd at least somewhat believe 12/21, if there were proof that something would happen, and what would happen. Just saying "the Mayans quit making a calendar" doesn't really mean anything. Plenty of people stop doing things for plenty of different reasons.
  23. This is some pretty crazy stuff! I'm wondering what the next step will be though. If we're able to get to the outside perimeter of the solar system, but most of the systems end up offline by doing so, it makes me question whether or not we'll be able to push further than that and get real information from outside the solar system as well (especially things like images).
  24. You know, I did some thinking about this for you and I have what might be a resolution. If you're able to figure out who the person is and somehow prove it, you can try contacting their ISP. Their ISP should have specific addresses for scams/spammers and if you can supply enough proof they can shut down their Internet and ban them from future accounts. In a lot of cases I think this is one of the most detrimental things. There's really not a lot of ISP's for most people, so being permanently locked out of one can make them think twice about doing the same thing again (think about it as being like a three-strike system).
  25. Thanks for the reinforcement! It's nice to see someone who's made it as well. It's definitely a competitive area to be in so being successful is a big feat.
