  1. Got ya. I don't think most people have issues with the delays on MyCents, so long as we're kept updated as to what's going on. It's just that sometimes it feels like everything should be working properly and they aren't, so most of the posts related to MyCents are on the assumption that it's not working as it should (in its current state). As an example, because of your post we now know that it's semi-up and semi-down.
  2. Still a bit iffy. There are really short people that drive, as well as people with no arms that drive using their feet. I don't think height is too much of a consideration, since there are ways around that.
  3. It's not really that strange when you're somewhat used to something and all of a sudden it changes. Really it applies to anything, too, whether it be a schedule you're used to (for work, school, etc.) or something you just do everyday, like eat eggs and bacon and then being put on a diet where you can't have either.
  4. AVG or Windows Essentials (I think is the name) are both free as well, and both offer great protection. I actually haven't tried Avast yet.

    Now What?

Is this affecting all sites? I didn't mess with my sites much today so not aware if I experienced issues as well, but I never got any notice from Xisto regarding it either.
  6. This exacerbates the problem though. The less reports there are against people, the less chance there is of getting help. If tons of people are filing complaints about the same person/group for the copyright infringement, it shows that it's a big problem. When people ignore it and move on they aren't just hurting themselves, but everyone else as well.
  7. This is good advice. Report it, with as many details as you possibly can. Also, in situations like this you should be able to get a new credit card from your issuer, as not doing so will allow the person to just continue wreaking havoc. The post is a little old, but in case others read this, make sure you actually do something about the situation! The longer it takes, the more damage they can do.
  8. Thanks for the notice! This should help put a lot of people at ease regarding what's going to happen with their posting. Out of curiosity, are there any new changes we should be looking at, or is it more of a security fix? Wondering if there's features that were added, as I usually miss things like that.
  9. To answer these in the same order: Some sites do allow you to get free hosting in return for letting them put ads on each page of your site. Before Xisto, that's what I was using. In fact, Xisto used to have the same opportunity if you didn't want to post for credits. I'm not sure if they still do or not though. Xisto is the old name for Xisto, in case you weren't here in the old days. As for cPanel, it's one type of control panel. It's the thing we log into here at KS. There are many others though, some free and some not (like Plesk). They're all control panels, but each is different. I guess a way to relate it would be to say they're like operating systems; they can all do the same things (pretty much at least) but they feel different and have different steps. I personally like cPanel the most, so I feel at home here!
  10. Could also be that they just gave up. Sadly this is what happens in most cases. People get tired of doing what they feel is wasting their time, and they just let people get away with the behavior.
  11. Call them again and talk to another person. Sometimes the first person you speak to won't help, but others might. If that doesn't work, speak to a supervisor (just ask whoever is on the phone with you to transfer you). If that doesn't work, you then take it to corporate and file a complaint. Usually you won't have to go all the way to corporate, and a supervisor will get you taken care of. But you need to explain everything that's wrong, along with dates and times. This helps them research the problem and better understand what they can do to help you.
  12. Most service providers offer free long distance now though, even on landlines. So in that case the area code shouldn't matter too much, and instead only the country code would matter (which in the US we can ignore anyways). I know with VOIP you can carry your number wherever you go. For example, my grandparents still have their phone number from another state (and use the out-of-state area code).
  13. I'm going to be in the same boat soon as well. With the decrease in posts, and the delay between updates, it's making it harder and harder to keep up the hosting. I used to have no problems knocking out a lot of posts due to the sheer amount of new content we had daily.
  14. I don't think the age is such a big deal, as long as he was trained prior. There are farmers' kids that learn how to drive at very young ages, and you can even get a "hardship" license at 14 in a lot of states. If he had just tossed the keys to his son to go have fun, or his son learned via driving games like Forza, I can see the problem. But there's a definite possibility he already knew how to drive before this.
  15. This is probably the scariest part of it all to me... knowing that at some point I'll likely be forced to change eating habits and no longer be able to enjoy things I do now. Not to mention the whole teeth removal after eating and such.
  16. Aren't you able to report infringing sites to their domain provider to get the domain locked as well? If so, I think the best course of action is to report it to both the hoster and the domain provider (assuming they're different).
  17. I'll toss out my vote for Adobe as well! "If you're going to do something, do it right." Sure, it costs a bit more than other programs, but when it really comes down to it, you're getting top of the line quality.
  18. Yeah, with the small number of people we have posting now, I don't think the system should have an issue with "rolling updates" (updates as soon as a post is made). I could understand there being a problem if there's thousands/tens of thousands of people posting at once, but the site has been dead/dying for quite a while, so the number of posts is small as it is.
  19. This is true, and I'd say it stretches to personal numbers just as well. There are people who have used the same number all their lives, then move or go living out on the road. In situations like this (changing carriers or even going landline to cell), it's still important for family/friends to be able to contact them. Especially if it's their only form of contact.
  20. Situations like this suck, and the worst part is that there are diseases you can't protect from that will cause tooth decay as well. I know of people who brush/floss after anything goes in their mouth but water, yet still have had to have all their teeth pulled. And others that never brush and have no problems. That's not to say it's not worth still taking care of them, just that you may still come up with problems, .
  21. That is a pretty neat site! It confused me at first though because I went to your link. Apparently we watch your drawing as it comes up, but we can also draw on top of it. Threw me off because I couldn't really tell what was happening, lol.
  22. This stuff is pretty cool. I actually just recently (a week or two ago) looked up the dog one again to show my siblings. I didn't realize that he can throw things now, which is a massive step forward. The others you linked to I didn't know about either.Another robot that's worth watching is the Honda ASIMO. I'm not sure when its last update was, but it exhibits human-like movements and can walk up stairs on two feet with no other support, run and other stuff. And supposedly it learns as well, in regards to communication and such.
  23. This is an excellent idea, and I agree that it would help foster more posting on a regular basis, rather than just throwing up a lot of stuff weekly/monthly. It could run on the same system/calculation now but add in the extra benefit based on posting x times within x period (ex. if 5 hours < posttime > 24 hours, grant bonus).
  24. I don't know enough about that plugin, sadly. Usually the SSO's will copy users to the new database when you try to log in with an existing account though (ex. if you are using WP as the master and phpBB as slave and then you log into WP, it'd copy your existing account to phpBB). Is that not what's happening here?
  25. It looks like you got it all fixed on my end. If not, both of the things (input box and label) are inline, so they aren't in a css file. They'd be in whatever file is handling the actual signup for you.
